When I finally got to the counter to order, the employee looked annoyed, like I was inconveniencing them. They didn't offer a greeting or ask how I was doing. Their tone was flat, borderline rude, and they acted like they couldn't wait for me to leave. 4. I placed a simple order--a McAlister's Club with a side of mac and cheese, plus a sweet tea. I also asked for no tomato on the sandwich. Despite how straightforward that was, the order was completely botched. 5. While waiting for my food, I noticed how filthy the dining area was. Several tables were covered in crumbs, spilled drinks, and leftover trays. No one was cleaning. It looked like no one had wiped a table in hours, which is pretty disturbing for a restaurant that's supposed to be casual but clean. 6. After waiting 25 minutes--an unusually long time for a deli-style restaurant--I finally got my food. Or at least I thought I did. A manager eventually came over, but instead of de-escalating the situation, they were equally dismissive. They said they were "short-staffed" and that "mistakes happen." While I understand staffing issues, that doesn't excuse poor service or a dismissive tone. 9. I asked for the food to be remade properly, and while they did eventually bring me a corrected order, it took another 15 minutes. At that point, my appetite was almost gone, and the food was still mediocre at best--definitely not worth the wait or the stress. 10. The sandwich was soggy and barely warm. The meat tasted off, and the bread was stale. The mac and cheese was watery and bland, which made me wonder how long it had been sitting out. 11. The worst part is that no one ever apologized. Not once. No "Sorry for the wait," no "We'll take care of that," not even a basic, "Thanks for your patience." Just a general sense of annoyance and apathy from every single staff member. 12. While I was eating, I saw other customers also having issues. One table got their food brought out to the wrong people. Another group left after complaining about how long they had been waiting. Lids and straws were scattered everywhere, napkins were soaked with spilled soda, and the trash bin was overflowing. It looked like it hadn't been touched in hours. 14. Restrooms weren't any better. The floor was wet, toilet paper was out, and the soap dispenser was broken. It was unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone a chain that promotes itself as a quality, family-friendly spot. 15. By the time I left, I was more frustrated than full. A visit that should have taken 30 minutes turned into nearly an hour and a half of irritation, disappointment, and regret. 16. I don't expect five-star service from a casual dining place, but I do expect basic courtesy, cleanliness, and a correct order. None of that was delivered during this visit, which makes me seriously question the management and training at this location. 17. I understand that restaurants have off days, and that things can go wrong--but it's how a business handles those moments that defines it. McAlister's in Hobbs failed miserably in that regard. 18. I won't be returning to this location anytime soon. There are too many other restaurants in the area where customers are treated with respect and food is served with care. 19. I sincerely hope that McAlister's corporate team sees this and investigates the Hobbs location. Because if my experience is reflective of their daily operations, they're losing loyal customers fast. 20. All I wanted was a good meal and a relaxing lunch. Finally, I tried McAlister's Deli while I binged watched Netflix's Mindhunter at my little brother's house on Halloween 2020. I was so into the show and so damn lazy that I ordered via DoorDash. The famous sweet tea ($3.31) was a must for me. So good if you need some sweetness in your life... For my lunch, I ordered the "Choose 2"... a cup of broccoli & cheddar soup and a half garden fresh turkey sandwich with a pickle ($10.81). It seemed healthy. Everything was fresh. The soup was hot and came with a couple packs of saltine crackers which I totally left on the counter. Lol. My Dasher was super friendly and took care of my order on her way to my brother's doorstep. The ice in my tea hadn't melted much. Awesomeness. I'd definitely recommend as long as they keep the food fresh! read more

Second visit tonight within a week. Our first visit was Sunday around lunch time. We noticed there was only one register open out of the three they have upfront. There were about four families ahead of us. We stood there and definitely had more then enough time to look at the menu. About 15 minutes passed by and only one customer had gotten thru... After which had felt like a whole lifetime, they opened up another register. By this time though, the line was literally by the door. The cashier was super friendly though and made us forget about all the time we had just waited in line. My soup was cold. The taste was good but it being cold really threw it off. My chicken blt sandwich was really good. The jalapeño chips were delicious and my husbands black angus sandwich was also really good. My sweet tea was great and so was the lemonade. Tonight I ordered thru the app and the process was super easy. My pick up time was 6:47. I arrived at 6:50 and the line was about 5 parties long and again, only one register opened. Waited 25 minutes for it to finally be my turn. The cashier was very friendly though and my food was already bagged up and sitting there at the front. We ordered: One half spud max and a bowl of potato soup One half Reuben sandwich with a cup of chicken dumpling soup One fountain drink, one lemonade, one chocolate chip cookie Total $27 My potato soup was not hot and I had to reheat it when I got home. My spud although it was loaded with everything, had absolutely no flavor. It was very dry. The Reuben sandwich was good and the chicken dumpling soup was on point flavor wise, but then again it wasn't hot. Sandwich was bad as hell, the bun was so dry, full of lettuce, the quantity of meat was too small, no cheese, nothing to give it a sense juicy, it was supposed to be a croissant but it was a flat and dry bun, the wild berry lemonade was so sweet that you couldn't even drink more than a try, so bad service, too long waiting in line despite there was no people, I'm not coming here again, plus the restrooms were so filthy. read more

Then an employee walked out from behind the counter, didn't say a word and just walked by. Can't be that hard to explain to a customer if you are busy with other tasks, or to get coworker. My sandwich was burned and had next to nothing on it. My daughter didnt get her side of broccoli. My husband's mac and cheese was just a clump of dried gunk. Tried to call and nobody would answer. This place just opened. Sunday night was packed. Orders took a little long but they had plenty of help. Just a little growing pains. They'll get it running smooth as soon as everyone gets trained. I tried the French Dip. It was only $7.99 and came with a side. Fruit, coleslaw, etc Lots of meat. It was OUTSTANDING. The au jus was perfect. Not salty and watery like most places. Once again we were charged extra "fees" for upgrading items on the menu. For months the menu stated the upgrade for a "premium soup" was $.99 but the resturant in Hobbs charged $1.99 or $2.50. They said that "corporate" had to change the electronic menu board and the cash registers. They couldn't do it there. Why did it take months to change? Yesterday I ordered a small strawberry lemonade and was charged for a large size plus a $.79 "flavor shot" charge. There was nothing on the menu to indicate that strawberry was extra cost or required a flavor shot. The lemonade machines have the two flavors in the bins. We had paid cash. When ask for a refund, I was told it would take between 10 days to 2 weeks to get a refund. read more
