Apparently the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is a holiday. I placed an order online, the order was confirmed, my card was charged. The 1st available pick up time showed 630pm. I selected that time and got a text at 6:05 that the order was ready come on in. I am at the pick up window 6:15pm. "We're sorry our kitchen closed at 6 we always close early on holidays." "You will get a refund and 5 to 7 days. We are very sorry. " Closing early - fine. Order should not have been accepted. Card should not have been charged. This McCallisters is under staffed not their fault, but the line was super long. I can usually always flag someone down to get more tea and I couldn't because there were only like five overworked souls doing their best. The cushions on most of the booths were torn. When we finally got my sandwich it was made wrong. There was no avacado which they charge extra for. My husband got in line again just to get a to go box and we ended up leaving without it. I think this place needs a new manager. Have been here several times because I've always loved McAlister's, but I am almost always disappointed- whether it be because of terrible service, unprofessional employees, missing parts to my order, or the place has run out of meat. When I call I can't get a person- an automatic person takes my order so I can't ask questions or clarify or even do it quickly because the prompts can take a while then get my name wrong. I am hoping this place doesn't close down because Live Oak needs a lunch/sandwich place and this is in a great location. But some major changes need to be made. read more

Came here for an office lunch. My work team loves this place. Sorry to say I wasn't impressed. Now it was very clean and neat. The customer service was good... very polite staff. I got the 2 meal thing. Well I got the half of spud and a potato soup. I would have liked more toppings on the potato and wish my food would have come out a little warmer. The soup was missing seasoning. It didn't have the flavor I was looking for from a potato soup. Oh and the potato I got was the spud max....and something was missing. Use to frequent this location when I worked on this side of town. My favorite is the Choose 2, I typically get the Pepperjack Turkey, tortilla soup, and a peach tea. Today, I decided to stop in and get my favorites since it's been a while. I was really disappointed. First, my plate had remnants of food all over it. I couldn't really tell if it was solely from my food or leftover old food since some of it was hard (dried on). My sandwich had on one side something that looked like avocado on it...avocado isn't on the sandwich however, I must try it next time with avocado (but at a different location). They literally gave me 5 chips...5 with a cup of soup. Today's experience was just too disappointing! I see why my former coworkers don't come here anymore. read more

OMFG! Where to start. I called in my order. It was a simple sandwich and some soup. When I showed up a lady was there because they messed up her drive through order. After 1/2 hour she said she just wanted her money back. Another guy was there for a while when I got there, and I was there for 15 minutes before he got his order (it was a remake as well). I called mine in 15 minutes before I got there and STILL had to wait over 20 minutes. They move slower than molasses going uphill at the North Pole during a blizzard. When I went to the counter to ask about my order, I was passed by several employees before I just called one out and asked for my order. I will not go there again. read more

I had walked into a nearly empty restaurant with one couple ahead of me to order. I ordered my meal for 2 sandwiches at 5:58 P.M. About 25 minutes of waiting I asked for an update and was told it was almost ready. The couple ahead of me had already gotten their meal, ate, and was leaving by 6:35. I received my food and left at 6:47 and only because I had told them that I had been waiting for over 40 minutes. McAllister's Deli on Pat Booker Live Oak Texas has really degraded in its food Quality and service, while I understand the conditions of COVID and the effects it has had on availability of some products and staffing, but when I order a Spud Max and request extra items (that I am being charged an up charge) I expect to receive the base products prepared per your menu and the extras paid for! This has been a third time this has happened, I spoke with the manager on staff and when the product was said to be remade to include the extras, I still don't see the value! I have supported this location of McAllister's Deli because it is closest location to my home, but I will gladly drive to a out-of-my area location or find another Deli that can actually serve me with comparable cost to what I receive! The horrible reviews were correct. I wish I had not wasted my money, time, or calories at this poor excuse of a McAlister's. Other locations are much better. The general manager, Michael, seems to have lost his pride in McAlister's and it reflects in his employees. The meal started with cold cheese dip. Took it back and just got a refund...there is no excuse for serving cheese dip that is cold. One of the two sandwiches was cold as well. How do you melt cheese on a sandwich and the meat and bread remain cold? Too over it to bother to complain to deaf ears, so dealt with it and ate it. My company has me in the area for the week and today I was feeling a sandwich. Upon a recommendation I wound up here!!! The only thing I'm sad about is that I live in Georgia and there are none there!!! The Mac and cheese is fresh and delicious, the lemonade sweet and delicious, the sandwich as advertised. I know I'll come here a few more times between now and Saturday. Regular customer treated horribly today! Placed order online at 1030 for 1115 pick up. Arrived at 1115 and was told it would be at least 30-45 minutes before my order would be ready because they had a $1000 order in front of me and I would just have to wait. I explained I was on a 30 minute lunch break and thats why I ordered ahead and paid online. Kevin the "manager" said "too bad" you will have to wait. This $1000 order is most important. First and last time visiting this place. First off, it smiled like a dog kennel inside so we decided to eat outside. Outside was just as bad. The patio was dirty with dirty dishes and birds eating off of them. Food comes out cold, and wasn't complete. We had to wait an extra 10 minutes for a baked potato after receiving our food. Bread for soup was cut all the way through so couldn't use it as a bowl. My sweet tea had no ice, I didn't make a big deal at the window I was just going to add ice at home. When I tried it it was not sweet. Called back so that I could get this fixed and no one answered. Their automated phone call in service does not work don't waste your time. After spending 15 minutes without being able to place a order it puts me thru to the so called restaurant. An automated voice tells me I only have five minutes to wait. I give up and decide to just do the drive-thru they advertised on the site.. but no wait for it - they have closed the drive-thru. No more drive-thru even though it's advertised. At that point I make a really bad decision - I'm there I might as well go in. I go in and wait for the one person ahead of me who is loudly complaining about their automated phone service. He gets "OH, we hear that every day, all the time". Finally he orders his one sandwich. Next i order my two, nothing special. 35 minutes later we are both still waiting but they finally do come out. Lucky me! Mine were right but his was not. I left while his words were burning up the air. All the employees acted like this is an everyday occurrence which for this place it probably is. Now I remember why I haven't been here in FOREVER, it sucks!! 1) its 7pm on a Thursday and half the restaurant is closed, no soda machine except behind the registers and the half that is open tables are dirty. 2) rude staff who obviously DONT want to work. 1 register out of 4 taking orders while 2 girls stand around and chit chat at one, after the guy took 2 orders then ours the girls cash register magically works again as they took the order from the customer behind us. 3) Food was mediocre, spud max had whole slices of ham and bacon so you had to cut it up. Just lazy on the staff's part. They had PLENTY of staff I counted at least 10 workers so that's not the reason. 4) while waiting to get a refill we had to literally flag down a worker as she walked past us MULTIPLE times as we're standing there. I'm guessing the manager asked us why we needed refills vs using the self serve, I explained we were told they were out when we first ordered.
