After 4 hours of yard work with my dad, he treated the family to dinner at 54th Street Grill & Bar. My son picked the spot because he loves their All American Bacon Burger, and honestly, it looked incredible. The vibe was lively and welcoming, with that busy pre-Mother's Day energy throughout the restaurant. The decor has a casual American grill feel with lots of quirky items hanging on the wall, and a fun atmosphere that works well for families. Even though we were exhausted and starving, the environment made it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. Unfortunately, we were so hungry that I forgot to take photos of the food. I ordered the flat iron steak salad with broccolini. The salad itself was fresh and enjoyable, but the steak and broccolini were both pretty bland. The steak was ordered medium, but came out more well-done on the ends and medium only in the center. It really could have used more seasoning, some aromatics, and maybe a finishing pat of butter to bring out the flavor. Next time, I'll probably order Lt. Dan's Grilled Shrimp instead. My dad ordered it, and it was seasoned much better and looked like the stronger dish overall. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did a great job keeping up with the busy crowd. I've been here a few times over the years, and while the food hasn't always been the most consistent for me, my son loves this place, so we usually end up coming back whenever we're in town.

54th St is a staple here in San Antonio and surrounding areas. The appetizers are always flavorful and delicious. The main dishes are plentiful and of course delicious. The service is always fast and attentive. And the ambience is great, usually quite other than game days for sports and great lighting. Would highly recommend to family and friends.

New name does not equate to better menus. I have to admit that I liked 54th Street better than the "new" 54. It actually was nice and not to loud when we went. The service but good, but the food was not flavorful. The Gringo Chips dip was bland. The Big Daddy Mac N Cheese was delicious according to my girls. My husband got the ribeye and he said it was good. I was really looking forward to the steak fajitas. They looked good, were nice and warm. Unfortunately their appearance was the only great thing about it. Let's break this down into the components: 1. The corn tortillas were horrible. I feel like they were just warmed up in the microwave and they were sticking to each other. 2. The rice was bland and all clumpy. 3. The pico de gallo was just meh. 4. As for the stake; what happened!?! The taste was just horrible! I have no clue what sauce they had in it, but they need to reconsider it. It was honestly horrendous. Needless to say that I returned it. This is where it gets a bit odd. This has honestly been the first time that a manager has not come to ask me about my service and why I returned my food. Like do you not want to know how to improve? I have had to ask for a new meal at other restaurants in the past and at every single one of those establishments managers have come to talk to me about my experience. I ended up getting the filet mignon instead with a side of asparagus. The best thing on that plate was the asparagus. The filet was okay, but it wasn't anything special. Honestly, though we have enjoyed going here in the past the food quality has declined and we don't plan on returning. Though the employees we encountered were all very nice, the food was just meh. Maybe fajitas is not their forte. Thanks but no thanks.

I ordered pickup. It was ready on time and the notification process was seamless. And the food? Wonderfully paired and absolutely delicious. I had the simply grilled salmon, grilled vegetables, ancient grains, and a side of asparagus. Would absolutely order again.

54th Street nails that sweet spot between comfort food and craft dining. The moment you walk in, there's a laid-back energy--a touch of retro warmth paired with polished service and a menu that's all about "scratch made" pride. Everything feels familiar yet dialed up: big portions, bold flavors, and a bar that hums with locals catching games on wide screens. The Baby Back Ribs fall right off the bone with a smoky-sweet glaze that lingers. Pair it all with one of their house craft cocktails or an ice-cold beer from their 54-tap lineup, and you've got a night that hits every craving.

Greeted quickly. Seated within minutes. Sat at a high top with the Sunday night football game as a nice distraction. Sound level was fine. Jackson, our waiter, took great care of us! Checked in often and made sure we were happy. I ordered two of my favorites: guacamole bacon burger with grilled asparagus - outstanding as usual. Bacon was generous and perfectly crispy. Hubby got his standard Rueben sandwich with fries. Also excellent. Generous parking in well lit lot.

I ordered online and did pickup. Food was brought out curbside in less than a minute and the worker was nice! Everything was pretty delicious at home. We got the Pick Four, and chose: Double Smashed Burger with asparagus, Chicken Avocado Grill with mac and cheese, fried pickles, and NY cheesecake. Added on some sweet potato fries. Only thing was the mac and cheese was cold but not a big deal. All for $50 which we thought was pretty good!

My husband and I were on vacation in San Antonio and we were hungry and our kids had already eaten so we were driving around looking for a place to eat. We stumbled across 54th Street. I looked up the menu saw they had cocktails and we were in. I had the spinach and artichoke cream pasta. It has chicken and shrimp in it and it was delicious! The service was great our waiter was nice and attentive. It's a cute restaurant it has pictures on the walls of celebrities in their younger days and other random things on the walls. It's very cozy.

First visit and looking forward to going again. The burgers were good and the restaurant has a cool and chill vibe.

Came for a dinner with my Goddaughter. Was seated right away. Had amazing service and the food was great! Didn't take many pictures as i typically do. Too excited to visit I guess. Had the Fried Pickles for an appetizer (Prefer the hamburger type pickles to spears usually), the batter stayed on the spear with eat bite. First restaurant I've been to that managed this when serving spears. The drinks were on point and service wonderful. I had the flat-iron steak with house salad and onion rings. 2nd person had the grilled chicken club salad and she at the whole dinner salad. 3rd had the Power Grain Bowl with Grilled Chicken. We were all very happy with our choices!

We ended up at this restaurant late one night because most other places nearby didn't have late hours. It was definitely a sports bar atmosphere, however it wasn't too loud that you couldn't talk. We ordered the ribs with Brussels sprouts and cajun pasta.

It was ok. The burger was fine. A little on the dry side. We shared an order of the vegetarian nachos which was great and I didn't miss the meat at all and the chips were perfect. I wasn't a fan of the seasoned waffle fries or the gringo sauce at all (it's like a weird tangy white sauce). Service was great. We were a group of 9 and she was able to split the bill individually. The minimum 15% tip was added automatically as we came as a group as expected so I gladly added additional tip. Our waitress made sure our refillable drinks were topped off. The decor is very eclectic with lots of singer and sports memorabilia. I think it's fine for groups and the prices really can't be beat especially the lunch menu.

How can you relax and have a conversation with your friends or a date if you can't hear yourselves think? The service is nonexistent and that's fine because it's your basic fast food concept. Not a problem. However, the food is more industrial based than true Texas BBQ. My brisket was very dry. They slather a lot of BBQ sauce on top of your meat. Why? Because the meat is either old or dry or both. Mine was very dry. The beans were drenched in sugar. The Mac and Cheese lacked (cheese) taste. We love good BBQ. This is not good BBQ. Compare to the Burnt Bean in Sequin and you will understand. The burnt bean runs out of product leaving long lines for their food; it's real BBQ, fresh homemade food. You can taste it.
