My wife and I are visiting from Colorado. We decided to go check out this restaurant for lunch today. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly staff. As she was walking us to our table, I noticed right away the awesome ambiance of the dining area and bar area. Their menu items looked great. They have lots of Gluten Free options, so my wife was happy about that. Their food prices are pretty decent. Their lunch specials look great and prices were pretty decent. Our waitress was very friendly, polite and professional. She was very attentive also and keeps checking on us to make sure everything was OK. My wife ordered the grilled chicken salad(GF) and I ordered their lunch specials Chicken Fried Chicken plate. Our food came out pretty fast and it was hot and fresh. My wife enjoyed her salad and I thought my meal was very delicious. The chicken patty was huge, crispy and very tasty. The garlic biscuit and coleslaw looked homemade and was very delicious. The French fries were very crispy and tasty and looks like it was made from fresh cut potatoes. Overall experience was excellent. We will definitely come back here for lunch and dinner. I joined the online waitlist &was notified that there were 7 parties ahead of us with an estimated wait time of around 10 minutes. When we arrived, however, we were told it would actually be closer to a 30 min wait, which was disappointing. We had a party of 5 and were seated at a small square table that seemed intended for 4 guests. They simply added an extra chair, leaving very little room for everyone to eat comfortably. It felt cramped and made the dining experience frustrating from the start. We ordered the Gringo queso and chips as an appetizer and that was definitely a highlight. The queso had good flavor and was enjoyable. For my meal, I ordered the Rattlesnake Pasta and unfortunately was not impressed. While it had some spice to it, the sauce itself lacked flavor. The garlic bread served alongside it was also disappointing it smelled and tasted like cardboard. Overall, I was not pleased with my experience. We visited around 5 pm on Friday evening and we were seated right away. We waited about 15 mins for a server to come to our table which felt a little weird when there were servers passing our table non stop. A server came by and asked if we had been waiting long to which I said yes (because we had and he asked, I wouldn't have said anything otherwise) and he just said well we're very busy. Then we ordered everything at once since we had had time to look over the menu. We waited another 10 mins and still did not have our drinks. We saw our server walking by and gestured drinks to him and he said yes and came back with them right away. The food was great. It was happy hour so we got 3 apps and my wife ordered the smash burger off the happy hour menu for her main dish. Our server informed us that during happy hour you have to have the same amount of drinks on the table as you do appetizers so since there were two of us, one of us had to order another drink to be able to get the third happy hour food item. We had the egg rolls and tator kegs for appetizers. I had the rattlesnake pasta as my main. The food was all great. I will probably come back again. read more

My son picked the spot because he loves their All American Bacon Burger, and honestly, it looked incredible. The vibe was lively and welcoming, with that busy pre-Mother's Day energy throughout the restaurant. The decor has a casual American grill feel with lots of quirky items hanging on the wall, and a fun atmosphere that works well for families. Even though we were exhausted and starving, the environment made it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. Unfortunately, we were so hungry that I forgot to take photos of the food. I ordered the flat iron steak salad with broccolini. The salad itself was fresh and enjoyable, but the steak and broccolini were both pretty bland. The steak was ordered medium, but came out more well-done on the ends and medium only in the center. It really could have used more seasoning, some aromatics, and maybe a finishing pat of butter to bring out the flavor. Next time, I'll probably order Lt. Dan's Grilled Shrimp instead. My dad ordered it, and it was seasoned much better and looked like the stronger dish overall. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did a great job keeping up with the busy crowd. New name does not equate to better menus. I have to admit that I liked 54th Street better than the "new" 54. It actually was nice and not to loud when we went. The service but good, but the food was not flavorful. The Gringo Chips dip was bland. The Big Daddy Mac N Cheese was delicious according to my girls. My husband got the ribeye and he said it was good. I was really looking forward to the steak fajitas. They looked good, were nice and warm. Unfortunately their appearance was the only great thing about it. Let's break this down into the components: 1. The corn tortillas were horrible. I feel like they were just warmed up in the microwave and they were sticking to each other. 2. The rice was bland and all clumpy. 3. The pico de gallo was just meh. 4. As for the stake; what happened!?! The taste was just horrible! I have no clue what sauce they had in it, but they need to reconsider it. It was honestly horrendous. Needless to say that I returned it. This is where it gets a bit odd. This has honestly been the first time that a manager has not come to ask me about my service and why I returned my food. Like do you not want to know how to improve? I have had to ask for a new meal at other restaurants in the past and at every single one of those establishments managers have come to talk to me about my experience. I ended up getting the filet mignon instead with a side of asparagus. The best thing on that plate was the asparagus. The filet was okay, but it wasn't anything special. I looked up the menu saw they had cocktails and we were in. I had the spinach and artichoke cream pasta. It has chicken and shrimp in it and it was delicious! First restaurant I've been to that managed this when serving spears. The drinks were on point and service wonderful. I wasn't a fan of the seasoned waffle fries or the gringo sauce at all (it's like a weird tangy white sauce). Service was great. We were a group of 9 and she was able to split the bill individually. The minimum 15% tip was added automatically as we came as a group as expected so I gladly added additional tip. Our waitress made sure our refillable drinks were topped off. I was told to come here and try the brisket burger and man was it good. The fries are perfectly seasoned and crispy. If you like slouch burgers like Tamika lol, you'll love this. Waitress was cool and down to earth and was chatting it up and laughing with us. Let me start by saying they have amazing employees at this location! Our family (24) of us went to celebrate my husband's birthday after returning from a road trip to New Braunfels and the employees went out of their way to accommodate such a large party. We were all attended to right away with drinks and with taking our orders. The food was not very good. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries, I'll say I only liked the fries. A few ordered pasta with chicken and the chicken was very much raw on the inside. The menu seems to have gotten very limited. Again, the food seemed like it's all just frozen and they throw it in a microwave or oven to cook. The tables are very roomy and the chairs are comfortable. The decor is pretty cool and there's a lot of it. We appreciate the staff for being very friendly as well. read more

Dinner with my friend last night. We met there about 5:30ish. They were busy. Steak wasn't medium rare (overcooked) but no one ever asked how we liked our food. Not once. ‍ Also have to order a $3 drink to get the happy hour prices on appetizers. I don't drink alcohol, can't have caffeine or sugar so I ordered a root beer and didn't drink it. It was my first time at 54th street and I enjoyed the food. I went during happy hour for a filling meal for two under 25$. My appetizer was the calamari, it had great flavor and perfect crunch. I will say there where a couple of pieces that was just the breading but besides that I loved the taste, especially for the price. As for the burger it was also better than I expected. Just the right amount of juice from the patties, and the grilled onions topped it off perfectly. Not to mention the service was great! Food came out very quickly and we had people checking on us throughout the meal. They had many tvs at the bar and cool decor through out the restaurant. I would recommend this place for a chill meal or quick meal. Would come again read more
