Same ol same ol... Thought perhaps it would be different from last time but lo and behold it wasn't. Big Promo advertising on the Cuban. My mistake. Not a hot sammy but something that was sitting out on the dash while working. Chips were good though. Pork on the sandwich was tender with little flavor and the ham was good. Not sure what the issue is with Odessa water so they did not have Dr. Pepper or any other soft drink. Service was slower than expected but I guess a slow cook in the hot water took longer than expected to heat the pork a little bit. Not impressed so IMO. Well. Contrary to my previous review today was exceptional. MICHELLE made my day. She was friendly and helpful and very courteous with a nice smile on her face. I explained to her the last time we were there how awful the service was and how dirty the tables were. Today was different. Tables were clean and everything was spotless. Visited on a Friday night of all times with family on what appears as a slow time. Upon entering there is about only 3 people working the restaurant and there are tables dirty everywhere throughout the restaurant. It took about 5 minutes for anyone to take our order in which was already a red flag! After taking our order it took about 30 minutes to receive our food, and the place wasn't even busy on a Friday night around 6:30pm! I ordered the McAlisters club choose two with chicken tortilla soup, barely any tortilla chips on my plate to compliment my soup and as for the sandwich included tomatoes and honey mustard both of which I requested they remove. Already 30 minutes invested there I decided to keep the plate and remove the tomatoes myself and tough out the honey mustard on my sandwich. I went to get a sweet tea refill and the girl up front took about 5 minutes to acknowledge me was busy cleaning a spill by the tea dispensers than to refill my cup and appeared to not want to be there at all. Overall, this place really went downhill fast really tarnished what McAlisters Deli used to represent mind you I am not from Odessa anymore however it went downhill fast. I ordered two basic items! 2! Two!! Nothing complex. A bowl, not a cup, of Country potato soup (No chives) & a baked potato spud for my daughter. She loved her spud this time. I absolutely love McAlister's Deli! The selection is great and everything is so good! I usually get salad and sandwich or soup and salad. They also have delicious baked potatoes, but they are too heavy for me for lunch. The lemonade and lemonade/tea is so good!! The bonus to this particular restaurant is that the staff was very friendly. I felt I got more service here than at a "regular " sit down restaurant. My food was delivered to my table fairly quickly. My table was pre bussed, which is a lost art in restaurants!! They also have larger containers of dressing, which made me happy. I love the sherry shallot dressing. Meal and drink were around $10 and worth every penny! read more

No indoor seating. Always very short staffed even before covid. Long wait times when indoor dining was available over 3 years ago.

I had a large order for my office and Door Dash forgot to pickup the order. He only picked up and delivered the drinks. They called me and told me to send the driver back to the store. He finally delivered my order and one of my sandwiches was left off so I called and the Manager delivered the sandwich to my business herself. That's what I call service!!! read more

Food is good although a little pricey. Atmosphere is OK BUT Overall is a great place to go for something different than the norm.

I arrived at 513pm and was the only customer in the restaurant. That should be telling. Someone greeted me after 2-3 minutes and said "give me a minute" then returned 3-4 minutes later. I ordered a salad to go and a "colossal carrot cake". When I opened the bag was shocked to see they gave me the short shirt almost a carrot cake. Worse yet, the sticker said to "discard 12-11" and today is a couple days past. I returned to the drive through window and waited for 15 minutes at the window and several people walked past but no one came to the window. I had time to survey on the website, file a complaint with health department, watch videos, check in fir my flight...I'm still waiting lol. Been at the window now for 23 minutes. No joke. Go to Jason's deli. -at minute 27, the manager (Ashley) couldn't Even Process the refund as the person who took the order had clocked out. So very suspicious. To the manager's credit, she is super nice. She just needs better staff and perhaps training how to offer refunds. read more

What really impressed me was the friendliness and courtesy of the three servers/cashiers that assisted us. They were quite busy, yet patiently helped us with our order. I am surprised this location is still open. We really want to like it, since it is in our neighborhood, but every single time we order anything we get disappointed. For the 9 years that I've lived in Odessa, I've loved McAlister's. One of my kids even worked at the one on 191 last summer. Back then, everyone was friendly and there wasn't a dirty table in sight and the floors were always clean. Today, we stopped in to place a to go order at 3:33 pm. The restaurant was nearly empty, but there were 4 people ahead of us in line and 2 families behind us. One person working the register up front and one working the drive through (which was 5 cars deep). The young lady behind the register up front seemed not to be thrilled to be there. The floors were disgusting and well over half the tables were dirty. There was a man walking around filling the napkin dispensers on the tables, completely overlooking the fact that the tables needed to be cleared and cleaned. So sad that this place has gone downhill so bad in the short time that it's been open. Managers, sit up and take notice that your restaurant looks horrible!! I'm almost embarrassed for you all! Makes me wonder what your homes look like if this is how little you care about the place that provides your living. PS We had to finally ask about our to go order after 4:00 pm. read more

Service is great.....shift managers patrol the dining area to make sure everyone is good and happy with the service. I enjoy the menu.....wide variety with soup choices also. Lines get long at lunch time.....but the crews try to push everyone through as quick as they can. Calling in your order and having a separate area for parking makes lunch time management a little easier. I appreciate the service after the sell....thanks for continuing to take care of the customer until they are walking out the door.....I will keep coming back. read more

Normally McAllister's has amazing service and food. Today apparently is that exception. I ordered a chef salad to go with oil and vinegar for the dressing. I have been a McAlister's Deli customer since they opened the first location in Odessa Texas. How excited I was when they opened the East Location on Hwy 191 within minutes from my home!! Unfortunately, on Wednesday night I ordered a 2 for- pecan berry salad and grilled chicken sandwich, 45 minutes after I ate, I began having severe nausea, abdominal cramping, cold sweats, and weakness. I ended up having diarrhea all night. I called my doctor in the morning and was immediately seen by doctor. My normal low blood pressure was elevate, and my pulse was very low. He took labs, and infused a large bag of glucose along with anti nausea medications. The food poisoning caused my lab results to get all screwed up, and now I'm having to have additional tests to rule out any damage to organs. Needless to say, it has been an expensive nightmare. No more McAlisters for this lady! read more

After a long ten hour drive, my mom and I were eager for a quick and easy bite to eat. I ordered online, and was told that my order would be ready for pick up in twenty minutes. When I arrived to the restaurant at the designated time, my order was nowhere near ready. I waited another 20 minutes for two soups and half salads. It took forty minutes for these four simple items. While I waited, I witnessed one employee strolling around the restaurant, eating chips while delivering food to the patrons. Seems pretty unsanitary to me. I used McAlister's online catering services, yesterday for a working business lunch. So EASY! I completed my box lunches, added some drinks using online ordering process. The next day, a bit ahead of my pickup time I arrived at the location to find everything READY to go. The staff even helped me carry it to my car. During my meeting, participants commented on how good their sandwiches were and how fresh everything was. I am not from the Odessa area but knew I could count on McAlisters to have great food at reasonable price. I was very pleased that my order was prepared correctly, ready ahead of time and handled by a friendly professional staff! Thanks to McAlister's the lunch was a huge hit at the meeting!
