The only thing that keeps me coming back is my LOVE for this franchise! I met my partner at McAlisters in Arlington and then I moved here and how disappointing. Bathroom is disgusting! General feel of the restaurant is that it's not clean. Food is medicore--side items are never very full in the container, I have gotten cold soup several times from here. They stay insanely busy though! A new location is desperately needed as it is very hard to get in and out of this location. I absolutely love Mcallisters Deli. The tea is great, the food comes out quick and fresh. The baked potatoes are HUGE and worth the money. I must say the food is good HOWEVER!!! The help is very unpleasant. I absolutely HATE calling in a order or going in there. I'm almost afraid they will do something to my food. I called and the phone rang about 10 times before they answered. It's one girl in there that has a really nasty attitude. EVERYTIME I go in there she is like that. I love McAlister's; their broccoli cheese soup and sweet tea are some of my favorite foods. However, I've consistently (3 times total, twice in a row now) run into problems with their take out forgetting to add items to our order. Today we placed an order for take out and they forgot to add our cookie to the meal, even though we paid for it. I'm normally happy to make the 30 minute drive to pick up food because the quality is so good, but disappointed with the consistently forgetting items (in this case, our cookies) in our meal. read more

Not a good visit. First walked in and the two registers were busy with a young lady at the very end. Wasn't at all sure if she was waiting on customers as she made eye contact twice and never said maybe help you. She eventually moved down to where we were and took our order. Chicken grilled and a soup and salad and tea. Sat down food came but we were also visited by a fly which I detest. Others were bombarded as well. Chicken grilled not the best per hubby. Mine was fair. Now in to the restrooms which always seem a bit suspect. Once again toilet looked a bit dirty and toilet paper abounds in the floor along with a very full trash can. read more

I'm giving McAlister's 4 stars for the food and the staff. All the sandwiches I've tried are 3 star worthy for their food and 1 extra for the nice peeps their. But the cookies, sweet tea and the potato soup are wonderful. I can make 2 meals out of there bacon spud it's so big and on a cold day a baked potato with bacon and melted cheese and their Mac and cheese is great Too! read more

The one thing they never manage to mess up is the grilled chicken club sandwich so I enjoyed that they still managed to well execute this dish. In terms of our side, a cup of fruit, I was very disappointed. I could get a better cup of fruit from the local preschool than this cup of canned fruit they pulled from the bottom shelf. We arrived her at 1 p.m. on a Saturday because there was literally nowhere to sit at Jason's Deli (which is my fav)...It was pretty busy here, but not as packed. Multiple tables were dirty or already had people sitting at them, so it really was limiting on where we could sit. We get the take out. Good food 75% of the time. 25% of the time, something critical is missing or forgotten. It's apparently because they are very busy and have a policy against hiring anyone over 30. The place is like Logan's Run. All the kids who work there are friendly and cheerful and where is the adult who is supposed to make sure you get what you actually order? Missing, that's where. Oh well. It's still pretty great deli food that everyone in the office agrees on. Just pity that one poor guy in every group order who (for some reason) gets a totally plain potato with nothing on it. Went here for lunch after seeing the parking lot jammed every time I drove by. Ordered a New Yorker and a McCalister club sandwich; both were less than mediocre. The meats on the New Yorker were so salty I couldn't eat it, and the ham and turkey on my wife's club were about what you might expect from a gas station sandwich. Met friends here for lunch recently when it is most crowded, but the orders were taken quickly at the counter. They ordered salads which looked fresh and were quite large. The kids' pizza and nachos were plain looking. I had the choose 2 combo with the 1/4 muffaletta and Italian chopped salad. The muffaletta had soft bread but not enough inside. It would have been great if it was stuffed with meat and olive topping. Of course, it could have seemed bland next to the wonderful salad. It was loaded with toppings and a great balsamic vinaigrette. The only downfall was the noise level. I actually had trouble hearing my friends across the table, and we were sitting near the back. Overall, the food is great every time I visit, but the salads are the best! read more

Food is pretty good for this type of establishment. I've never been disappointed in the food, and while the staff is friendly, watch your receipt. I've order the same items to go the last two times I've been there and just realized tonight that they've been over charging me by a few dollars. I was told I couldn't substitute something on the menu when there is literally a sign saying you can and I was charged full price for the items. I'm sure the staff is trained to be fast and push customers through quickly but they also need to be accurate as well. Was it intentional? Overpriced! Just went and fed my family if 4 for $40. Food was not that good and portions small. They were out of potatoes and coleslaw! I got sandwich and it was fine but not for that price. We ate at McAlister's several times when we first moved to Tyler because so many people seemed to like it, but after a while we stopped when we realized...the food is just okay. The sandwiches aren't any better than fast food, and the soup is so-so. The sweet tea is good, but that's about the best thing I can say about them. read more
