Sandwich
Jay H.

Our first time stopping in and really was impressed! Restaurant was open and bright and very clean. Loved the bar top area! (Could see myself coming in to do work on my laptop there) Service and employees were quick and friendly, brining the food right to your table and checking in to get us a refill without asking! Food was great as well. Ingredients were fresh and the bread was nice and soft, just the way I like it. I will say the Mac and cheese could use a little work though, but not bad. I think this will be our new sandwich place!

French Dip
Christine B.

I wasn't sure what to expect from McAlister's but everything here was a pleasant surprise. I tried out the Choose 2 option, picking a half of a French Dip sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. The soup was decent but the sandwich was extra good, with its soft yet crispy bun and Swiss cheese. The beef was good quality and the au jus was just right - not too salty. I enjoyed my lunch and wish we had this deli in Arizona.

Strawberry Lemonade

Banana Cream Butterscotch Pie is the perfect treat for the summer! Light, not too sweet, and a delicious crust. I always get iced tea - instead tried the Strawberry Lemonade and it was a refreshing treat. The app is easy to scan your rewards code. This was my first time inside the restaurant and it is so nice! Please be patient with new staff that are learning

Reuben and The McAlister's Club, McAlister's Famous Tea
Sarah S.

Didn't have any expectations going in, we were not familiar with the chain. The dining area was clean and comfortable. The drink size is huge! I saw they had world famous sweet tea. It was quite good I would like to try it with lemon. Overall I'm not sure I can say it's a whole lot better than Chick-fil-A. The big disappointment was the Reuben. Cut in half and only one side of it had cheese, sauce and sauerkraut. Now you can say that is poorly cut sandwich. But these prices aren't super low so all of the sandwich needs to have all the stuff. They also charged for water. Maybe that was on the sign? but it caught us off guard. And I'm a little confused for the need to do that around here. I'm giving it three because I would go back and give them another go. A fun variety to their menu and our food was tasty.

Sweet McAlister's Famous Tea with peach added
Jessica G.

My first time at McAlister's Deli and I will be sure to be back! The pick-two was the perfect size. I was full but not overly full. I also tried the sweet tea but added peach to mine. It was awesome to be able to try it free for signing up for the app! The food came out pretty quickly and the staff was super friendly. We had both ordered sour cream for our potatoes but had to request it because they forgot - which wasn't a big deal at all since we were dining in. I gave 4/5 stars just because it wasn't anything that I would really crave, but it is a nice option for lunch! I liked the crisp, fresh taste of my wrap and would for sure order it again. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Service terrible. Food mediocre. Too many other options for dining. Hard pass. Subway or Jersey Mikes or even Panera is better.

The New Yorker has to be the best sandwich in the Grand Rapids area. It is my favorite. The baked potatoes are also wonderful.

Always a great meal at McAlister's. I, especially, love their Ultimate Nachos. Best nachos around! It's our go-to place after church.

The food is so good at McAlister's! My husband loves it and he's picky. He likes the spicy chicken sandwich. I like the reuben. Yum!

This place is an awesome, eclectic, and personable spot with incredible food as well as service…read more The BIzzy Grizzys or whatever they called them were one of my favorite appetizers ever, and I don't typically like things like that. At first I was hesitant because of the price, and it being biscuits, but they made me eat those words and more. It was like a large biscuit muffin top with jalapeño, cheese and honey glaze (I think) and it came with a white cheddar cheese sauce to dip it in that was outrageously delicious. For a guy who hates cheddar biscuits, I've got to say I'm blown away. My wife ordered the steak with fingerling potatoes and carrots. It was on the pricier side, but yet again well worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the veggies were pretty good too. They had live music playing as well tonight. It was a jazzy kind of vibe and it didn't over power anyone talking or anything. The guy had some serious skill too. To top it off, we had some pretty killer service from everyone there. From the hostess taking our names, random servers walking around, and our fantastic server (I forget her name but she was blonde and worked upstairs and had a a really great attitude. The expo or food runner dropping our food off anticipated us possibly needing an extra plate and brought one without asking which was super awesome and ended up coming in handy ( I knew my wife wouldn't finish that steak alone) and she brought it without asking and was ready with a smile to get more. I used to be a GM (I hate when people use this saying but...) truly I know how hard it is to find good workers and the folks running it here seem to have it down. I come from a place where you have to drive 100 mi or more for average service. So seeing exceptional service is really almost too good to be true. I'd definitely stop in for a bite. It's worth every penny. We'll be back for dessert, they have seasonal crème brûlées!

I dined at TOG today for a business lunch and, unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing…read more At the end of our meal, I asked for a to-go box because I had barely touched my food. My guest and I spent most of our lunch talking, and I left with nearly an entire meal. About 20 minutes after leaving, I realized I had forgotten my box and immediately called the restaurant to see if it was still there. The young lady who answered the phone asked where I had been seated. I explained that I was at the very first table at the front of the restaurant. Within seconds, she told me there was nothing there. Her tone made it clear that assisting me was not a priority. Given that the hostess stand is located at the back of the restaurant and I was seated at the front, I do not believe there was enough time for her to actually check before dismissing my concern. After I sent an email regarding the situation, the hostess responded that she had walked through the restaurant looking for the box. Based on the timing of our phone conversation, I find that difficult to believe. In her response, she also stated that she checked with the servers after our call had ended, which suggests that no real effort was made while I was on the phone. What is most disappointing is that I am a regular customer. Today, I paid $56.00 for lunch for myself and my business guest. Between a server who was largely absent throughout the meal and the dismissive interaction when I called about my forgotten food, the level of service fell far below what I have come to expect. Everyone has an occasional bad day, but customer service is often defined by how issues are handled after something goes wrong. In this case, I felt dismissed rather than helped. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I do not plan to return.
