I've spent thousands of hours in the chair and even more thousands of dollars trying to fix them. Unfortunately, most of those experiences were extremely painful and quite discouraging. I have been to many, many dentists, (too many to count) but this office is truly top-notch. From the moment I walked into The Mint Dental, I knew this place was different. Dr. Armstrong is crazy talented, meticulous, and truly cares about his patients. He and his team went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, informed, and, most importantly, confident in my smile again. And let's talk about the phenomenal staff. They are rockstars!!! From scheduling to finance, to cleaning, to hygiene, every single person I encountered was amazing. I've gone to highly rated dentists while living in California and will say Dr. Deena shaped two beautiful veneers that are far superior. They are perfect in shape and color while still looking very natural, unlike many veneers that lack that variance in color of natural teeth. She's an artist! Their dental assistant, Kendyll, is also highly competent and friendly. Donna in the front office is always so lovely to chat with and is on top of all the billing and insurance dealings. She does a great job explaining everything.  Alani Dental Center is very fair with pricing and has never tried to talk me into unnecessary treatments, unlike some dentists I've been to over the years. When my insurance finally paid, they REFUSED TO REFUND me the amount I paid and retained a portion of the funds. It also took many email follow-ups in the first place to get some of my money back as they were not inclined to reply to me at all. PLEASE STAY AWAY TO AVOID BEING RIPPED OFF!

This is on behalf of my 80 year old mom. She had them do dentures with the magnetic implants a few…read moreyears back. This past summer She went to them again to have them re-lined due to a lose fit. After setting them in place with the mold material, they became stuck in her mouth. the Dentist attempt to pull and pry them out until the pain became far too much for. spent a week without being able to remove them and recovering from the pain. went back for second visit and again the dentist could remove the dentures from her mouth and again put her in extreme pain. 3rd visit they finally were able to remove the dentures and clean out the material they use to form the reline fit. She came back home and never did have the fit corrected. she's 81 yrs old at the time. the still charged her $688. Dentures not fixed, and putting an 81 yr old lady through crazy pain, anxiety and distress. We have since moved out of state for family and home where that is ADA so we can take care of her. When called to split the bill in 2 payments they were upset. After relaying the issues with the failed procedure, continued to ask for her to come back in. 1st, after that torture why would anyone go back for more? 2nd informed them several times during the call that we are now out of state and nowhere close enough to go back anyway. ( still intending to pay the bill ) Even after telling them we would be paying the bill, the were rude and unapologetic. I assume they thought we were just trying to get out of paying a bill. Maybe they should have checked the record of the visits and issues. How can anyone do such lousy work, never complete the work the work, put an 81 year old mobility challenged lady through that much pain, and then not only charge nearly $700 for the pleasure of their company, but also get rude over the billing?

Dr Van Zyl was wonderful! He was gentle, patient, thorough, and forthcoming about what to expect. He took a mold and had a new tooth fit very well within a little over a week because of my out of town schedule. I couldnt believe how well the tooth fit! I was worried about needing adjustment during my trip. But once the crown was in, it just felt natural! Then my night guard cracked. Dr Van Zyl made me a new one. So happy. Next time I hope I only need to go to dentist for a cleaning:) Love this dentist! Especially since I am usually the nightmare patient. If something has a chance of going wrong, it usually does with me. The office staff is wonderful! They are very good about reminding you of upcoming appointments through email and text too. 1. Dr. McBrayer owns North River Perio in Hixson, Tennessee. North River Perio charges more than…read moredouble what other places in the area charge to do implants. 2. North River Perio claims they accept dental insurance, but it's a scam. Insurance companies negotiate reduced rates. For example, a company like Cigna might only need to pay $800 for a $1400 procedure. For that reason, North River Perio prefers patients to pay out of pocket instead of using their dental insurance. To that end, as soon as your procedure is over, while you are still woozy and seeing stars, they will hustle you into a room and threaten you with a collection agency for the full amount before your insurance company has even been billed. 3. Dr. McBrayer's staff could not hold down jobs at Waffle House. They completely lack basic human empathy. I called ahead and then came into the office because I had developed a dry socket after McBrayer pulled a tooth and did a bone graft. I was suffering unimaginably. His staff wouldn't even look at it. I had to get my regular dentist to diagnose and address the problem, which cost me more money. If you have cash to burn and don't mind being treated disrespectfully by Dr. McBrayer's callous staff, then by all means, make an appointment with North River Perio. On the other hand, if you try to get the most for your money and like to be treated decently, please don't even consider North River Perio in Hixson, Tennessee.
