Found John on Thumbtack app. It was my first time using the app and he was one of three Repair guys suggested. His profile pic showed a happy person IMHO and so I messaged him. John communicated within 24 hours and asked all the right questions. We needed to replace three doors and the fourth door was questionable. We had a lab that loved to chew and so she did...door jambs, she loved them. John is the third repairman to look at the doors. He stopped by after a couple of days, I have a busy schedule, and we talked about what needed to be done. We decided that I would purchase the doors and have them waiting for John at Loews in Clovis. He would pick them up along with the door jamb materials needed. Not knowing the first thing about how to purchase doors, John gave me instructions which of course I wrote down. Well, typed into my phone. Anyway...John looked at the fourth door and suggested he just putty the jamb and assured me he could make it look good and that would save some money. I happily agreed. One less door to buy. *whew So, I went to Loews and found out the doors I wanted were in stock and priced out everything. Oh, did I mention that not once did John say a word about price? And, If you can believe it, I didn't ask. I know I know, you're cringing and thinking that I'm extra crazy. But, I was so excited to be getting my doors done and I was typing information and it just never came up. I figured, if it was going to be thousands of dollars, he would have said so. I had a figure in mind from having others come in and quote me. To make this longer story short, John did a fantastic job. I have already recommended him to friends that have a job he's doing next week. He is friendly, communicates by text, went above and beyond my expectation, and the price?! John came over and replaced the supply vent covers on both my ac's. We had water that would drip out of the vent cover. We received two new covers from Dometric at N/C. They were aware of the issue. I could have taken it to a dealer but as everyone knows it would have taken forever to get my motorhome back!!! So I called John at McCabes RV repair. We set up an appointment and John came over and installed both supply/return vent covers. They required some modifications and John installed them in about an hour. I was very happy with the job and will use him again in the future. He charged me less than he had estimated but I chose to pay him what he quoted. I told him consider it a tip. Can't say enough about John and the service he provided! We pulled into the Elks Lodge mid-day on Saturday and our main slide outs would not go out. I called John who said he could look at it on Monday and would call us around noon to meet him. (We were staying with friends close by so not a huge inconvenience.) True to his word, he called around 11:00 on Monday and met us there around 11:30. Within no time, he found the solenoid that was bad, took care of a loose wire causing our heater to not flip on, and said he would keep us posted on the part availability. Received a call that afternoon that part was not available in town but was being shipped to come in the following day. It arrived late the following evening. Met us early the next morning. Installed it, made sure everything was working correctly, and we were back on the road as planned. John's handling of our situation was awesome and his price was VERY reasonable and fair! read more
