Came to McCarthys to "pregame" before a show at Jacob's Pavilion, got here at 5pm. Street suggested the place would be BUMPING inside, it wasn't. Which is okay, since we wanted to get food before the show. Food was mid, but it's a bar so that's fine. My qualm is the bartending staff. They are not busy as I'm writing this, & the ONLY bartender to show any kind of kindness was Aldiana. LOVE her. Will only come back if she's behind the bar. She's the sweetest soul here!

LATE night menu offered before 9:30p but not everything on it available!

Ups and downs. I have a special place in my heart for McCarthy's but they always find a way to disappoint. In this case, only late night menu offered at 8:30p on a Sunday. And then, told only fried items available from that menu. So... the potato skins on late menu, not available because according to bartender, they are 'baked.' What??? Are you trying to make money on great food or make the cook have a super easy night??

The wings were amazing and perfectly tossed in a very delicious sauce. The bar also had a really old school vibe with modern music playing.

    Chicken Caesar wrap

This was by far the best wrap I've ever had! It wasn't even on the menu but my friend ordered a chicken Caesar salad and it looked so good! I asked if they could make it into a wrap and they sure did! It was HUGE and amazing!!!

Stopped into McCarthy's for a quick bite to eat. They have your average arrangement of typical bar foods - but their buffalo chicken wrap won my heart over. So good! The space is massive and has lots of specials throughout the week. Wednesday is $12 steak night, and I believe they had $5 pizza night, among others. I will definitely be stopping back in! On the weekends, the place sounds like it's packed - often hosting a variety of events. Making it a key place in the area! Also special shoutout to Thomas! Super friendly and gave great service.

Here's the deal: I came to McCarthy's drunk as a skunk after taking a Nautica booze cruise. Curse you, Cleveland Beer Week, with your Off-Shore Pour full of high ABV brews! Needless to say, I wouldn't be driving, but my companion was steady enough to just need a bite of food. The bar across the way didn't have an open kitchen, so McCarthy's was where we ended up. Listen, I don't remember much, but I do remember digging into some onion rings (they were okay; even drunk, I'm still an onion ring connoisseur) and some nachos, which were honestly pretty great. I remember chatting with a lovely couple next to us, but what I remember most was Thomas, the bartender who, when I left my purse behind in all of my boozy glory, made sure it stayed safe until it could be retrieved the next day. I called the bar as soon as I realized I'd left my purse behind, and they assured me it would be waiting for me the next morning. Lo and behold, it was! Thank you, Thomas, for your excellent service and for keeping my stuff safe when I was being less than responsible.

The food arrived fairly quickly and I was impressed at the size of the meal. A large fillet perfectly fried and crispy. The sandwich itself was good but it was on the smaller side. I can never finish a whole sandwich but I finished this one. Service was good for an airport restaurant. We did try to find a table with outlets to charge our phones and they didn't have any.

You won't even be able to stand. As for my other visit, it was on a Friday night. A nice sized crowd, full bar. Sports game on the television. A nice atmosphere for a neighborhood bar. A great touch is the 1 pinball machine in the corner. Older game but it does take up something to do with friends. As with service we were told that the bar is extremely behind by a rude bartender named Meg. You can tell she was overwhelmed and just seemed to be having a rough day. A few minutes later we were told by staff that the kitchen was now closed. Pretty strange as the menu is mainly all bar served fried food or burgers etc. The bartender also announced that they were out of fish as well. I continued to order drinks, they were cold and tasted as advertised. About an hour or so later , the kitchen was then re opened when the bar was less crowded. I order a dozen wings, garlic Parmesan with ranch. The wings were real solid. Nice and crispy and the garlic and parm combo was just enough. The basket of fries we got were average fries. Not crispy, nor salty but atleast they were hot. The prices were about average, no complaints about that. Overall, the bar does not seem to handle stress or large crowds very well. My wings were good, fries were average like I said. My friends attend this bar often and did tell me that this bar is not like this usually. May have been a rough day. I assume I will be back again, I wouldn't pick this place to go to but the location is close enough to the area we hang out. Not so much of any certain type of theme at the bar but I did notice the staff recognize many patrons by name so it will continue to be the neighborhood bar for many. Overall a 6.7 out of 10.

The Rowley Inn is located in a nice neighborhood (Tremont) across the street from the Christmas Story house. I had three meals there. The first, loaded pierogis, was the ultimate comfort dish. Pierogis with potato centers were covered in diced kielbasa, bacon (yes, bacon), and covered in cheddar cheese. Ahhhhh. The others at my table raved about the kielbasa and pierogi dish. They also liked the beer selection. How do you know you have a great find? You think about the meal long after it is consumed. Next meal- breakfast. I had the kielbasa and pierogi omelet. Need I say more? Finally, we came back a third time and I ordered the burger. No burger place (save Chuckbox in Tempe, AZ) can match the Rowley burger.
