Horrible service in the service department. I bought a brand new 2022 RV from Mcclains. The salesperson (Hunter) was amazing. But the service department is horrible. They conned me into paying an extra $23,000 for an extended warranty, that does not cover much. Within 6 months, the outside panel that covers the hot water heater flew off while I was driving it. Mcclains said it wasnt covered so I am using my RV with an entire panel missing. I paid $300 to get the RV weatherized when we had cold weather coming. The outside hose still froze due to and broke off, but Mcclains won't cover it. Even though it was locked, the outside storage bin keeps opening while I drive it. The firs time, everything that was in it fell out. I mentioned that to my service person several times and its still not fixed. The screen in the bathroom constantly falls out. I have mentioned that several times. I would not buy another RV from Mcclains. And do not waste your money on the extended warranty. read more

McClain's in Denton. I purchased a new Winnebago Intent 31P in January. 1. Vanessa (Business Manager) told me I was purchasing an outside appearance warranty. That the company would come to me and shine it up. The truth is that they already applied the EchRVPro product to the rv. That means I paid $1,461 for something that was already on the unit. It is not a warranty, it is a product. When I called the company they told me they do not come out to me and they do not cover "black streaks" as Vanessa told me. When I tried to talk to Vanessa about this she hung up on me and refused to tell me who the managers of the store were. 2. I had the unit in the shop because the dash blower would not work. They kept it for a long time... told me it was fixed, but it was not. I had to take a trip with no dash AC or heat. When I brought it back to get them to fix it they did not even apologize or offer any consolation for their poor workmanship. 3. Now there are some other issues, but I don't want to take it to them. The problem is there is no other warranty dealers for Winnebago anywhere near me! I usually don't post reviews, but this organization needs to be avoided. Took it to the Sanger branch. Under their care it burned to the ground. Guess what they did to compensate me for the loss? Nothing. They took no responsibility. Now they won't return my calls. I had an appointment that we set up with McClain's On August 30th. This appointment was for October 18th when we returned from our trip. I explained to the service department that I didn't buy the RV from them but it was closer to home. DH checked with his manager and said that would be fine. I called a week prior to our scheduled appointment to confirm. The Service gentlemen that I spoke claimed to have no record of the appointment. He even received an email from me with the info he requested back in August. He stated they were to busy to work on trailers from another dealer. I would have been fine with that if they would have called and told me there was a problem. I'm so glad I didn't drive down there. They did me a favor. This place deserves a 0. They are pushy, uncaring, and dishonest. They have no regard for your feelings. They tried to take advantage of my 80 year old parents. They kept bringing out another guy "next level up" to push his sales tactics on them. Even after both parties agreed on a price. They took my parents credit card and left the room to go run it. the guy returned with a new guy who pushed them to pay $2000 more. Another guy came out and it was finally sold at the agreed upon price. The air conditioner was broken so they supposedly put a new one in. We have only had the RV for 2 months and the air conditioner is out. They will not return calls so i can ask about the warranty. Just call the number. They will not answer or call u back. These people do not care about you. They have good acting skills when it benefits them. Buy your RV somewhere else and save yourself some trouble. After deciding on a particular RV, we wanted a specific color, and the only one that we found locally showed a tiny bit of customer abuse. Since it was new, I really wanted a"fresh" one, and McClains had three or four in stock. So, after a very promising start with a very affable sales associate, John, we purchased a new RV from McClains, to be delivered to us in CA. After expressing how particular I am to the sales rep and receiving his assurances that the RV was "perfect", and after spending a boat load of money to get the RV driven here, we couldn't wait to get it. You know where this is going, right? The RV arrived, and of course, it is in the same condition as the one I could have gotten locally- chips in the paint, minor scratches and scuffs, some small damage to the sofa... I e-mail my sales rep with photos of the various boo-boos, and he e-mailed back that he has passed along my concerns to the manager. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN!! Now, over a month later, I am still waiting for the MCO. Three messages to Vanessa in the business office, and no reply. (I spoke to a manager today, so maybe I will find out what is going on.) If your shopping or in the market for RV - please read. I will not say you should or should not use McClains, but you should know this place has no culture of customers and it has been a painful, and costly learning experience for us. You will only hear excuses, never "how can we make this right". We've bought plenty of cars, boats, etc so we know what to expect - but McClain's is the leader is sales first, excuses second, no call backs third. If you're like us, getting into the RV game was exciting. Family of 5 we had been road tripping over 10k miles a year in a minivan; it was time. We did extensive research and decided our first RV would not be our last, and getting the right engine, and amenities before we got all the extras was top priority. We ended up at McClains like so many have because of their pricing. First issue - Taking possession of our RV - Took delivery from a rep at 730pm that rushed us and kept texting whomever they were late to see - Rags left in the engine block that started to melt to timing belt - Hot water heater cover was put back on upside down which lead to almost burning the filament on the first trip - thankfully the RV community is awesome and someone noticed the upside down cover - The RV drains, which are buried behind a HVAC vent - our texting tech, forgot to mention this, were stripped and I had to replace them just to get the water to stay in the lines (our first trip out cost us 6 hours and over $300 - all preventable) - Called service to address this - "Sorry were busy everyone is hear taking delivery, we will call you back" - an excuse we will hear again in this process Finance Dept - Whatever you do - do not take the warranties - DON'T DON'T DON'T - they are not adding them to your monthly, they are adding them to your equity - that cheaper RV that you don't plan on keeping just got turned upside down. - Sly and cunning, the Finance dept will present a price, and then present a document to sign which will have the new total - check your work - this was a huge learning experience and we have learned a reputable dealer will not do it this way (we just bought a new RV - night and day experience from McClains) - Overall this is the trick and McClains has just done better at the art of finance selling than most - a lesson that has cost us $16k - As I write this we have put the request in to cancel. According to our loan company this is a simple process, but they have warned McClains is one of the worst and will drag this out over 8 weeks - of course they will - We called 14x 1 month after purchase to get an explanation and cancel the warranties, even calling finance departments at other McClains - we got 2 pick ups, both said they "were busy doing deliveries, and we will call you back" - there is that excuse again - but wait it happens again. We opened a case with the Attorney General, but the time and resources were not worth it - And also note, the two finance dept women are not friendly, very condescending, and most likely just working in a miserable environment, and it will show Service - Where do we start - I would say just don't even consider this service department - I will give you our situation and you decide for yourself. - Requested service February 15th - Email response to bring it in Feb 25th "Were wide open" we were told - 4 emails of small details that were wrong - here is the list - Oil change, Awning strap, porch light, insert in screen door, dash blinks, rotate dually tires, mattress for the bunk that was owed to us but we never received, but go notification 4 months after receiving our RV - We were told we would receive updates during the service process - First, update 10 days later, 7 business days " We want to inform you there are 7 RVs in front of yours" - no work has started and it appears it is our fault that there are 7 RV ahead of ours - No update for next 7 days - We asked any updates - no response - On day 20 we get a question - which strap is it for the awning - which means, no work has been done and none of the small, available on amazon parts, have not been ordered - Day 20 - also told half the stuff on our list is outsourced - but none of it was done - like the tire rotation - why was it not done? No response, just a "not my problem or not my job" attitude that is carried over - 25 days our RV made it to the lift and is getting the oil changed - day 27 - I insist I need to pick up the RV regardless of status since we are approaching a month and taking delivery of our new RV - 1 month - OUR RV WAS IN SERVICE AND ONLY THE OIL HAD BEEN CHANGED - Excuses given | "No techs" , "Everyone is taking delivery" | |You are taking the RV early"? and the worst part - THEY USED MY RV FOR PARTS WHILE IT WAS ON THEIR LOT STEALING 3 CLEARANCE LIGHT CAPS - No answer, just a dead look, like if you would just leave I can close your order. In summary - this is the level of leadership you're dealing with. read more

We purchased a new Travato class B from McClains Denton in Feb 2019. The sales experience was great. The price met our expectations. We then used it for two short trips during the next two months. It had to go into their service dept for a defective fender flare, loose bath sink & sticky screen door. It sat there for five weeks! The excuse was parts were on order. When we finally picked it up, only one item, the screen door, was fixed. We used it again for a short trip while parts were still on order. This time the generator stopped working. We returned it. It sat there five more weeks. The generator was finally fixed, not at McClains, but at the local Dodge dealer for only a kinked fuel line after McClains & a generator repair shop couldn't find the problem. Oh yeah, it's now August and the fender flare was finally fixed. This experience caused us to get rid of our Travato as soon as possible before another incident occurred. We're now RV free and without worry. We caution anyone wishing to deal with McClains Denton to avoid them. read more

Service department is not able to complete repairs as needed and cannot perform needed service in a timely manner. Communication and customer service was non-existent. It took this dealer 3 months to say the unit was ready, but some of the warranty work was left incomplete. Had to take the unit to another dealer for the unit to get the warranty work completed. I will never recommend this service department nor will our trailer be brought here again. read more

Folks, I have asked...and asked...and asked and I am done. You will no longer accept "Non-McClain Customers" on this property. They cannot be parked on this lot or in the campground. Anyone that is insubordinate to this direct order will be subject to suspension/termination. It is not worth you losing your job. STAND THEM UP!!! State Inspections is the only exception and if unit fails they must take it somewhere else and get their repairs done. It cannot go in the shop. It cannot be left here. We don't have the room and your lot damage is off the scale. Word trax for non McClain's people that show up on drive or call in here needing service: "Folks we apologize but we can only take in customers that bought from McClain's. We are fortunate to have so much business that we can not handle anyone except our customers. You might try Danny's RV, Explore USA....etc" If someone says they bought from McClain's you will verify their unit in the ADP computer that they bought their unit from McClain's before allowing them to come in or drop off their vehicle. I purchased my motorhome and before I drove it off the lot I didn't realize that the battery was dead and that's why they had it plugged in. Before I took it out on its first trip I went by the dealership to have them replace the battery and I was charged $450. They didn't even do the labor for free. I tried to get them to cover the cost of the dead battery because it was dead when I bought it but I never heard from them again. I didn't push it. When I decided I didn't want the extended coverage anymore I have tried to get the prorated amount credited back to me. There was three service contact warranties and they refused to prorate/credit the $2800 policy. They say it's transferable but I can't cancel it and get my money back. I don't even think that's legal because you can cancel all service contracts for a refund. After going through the contract I realize that their finance department is shady as F--- I was told that the year-long RV membership was thrown in and I saw that I was charged $119 for it. I was never told that I could not get a refund on part of the extended service contracts. If you're going to do business with them read that contract with a fine tooth comb and get clarification on things because like I said they are shady!! read more

We were mislead, lied to and the quality of service completed on our fifth-wheel was close to unacceptable. I had a single rig accident which caused damage to the hydraulic jack and the frame of our rig. On the recommendation of a friend of a friend (who knew the parts Manager), we dropped our rig off for an estimate. We were more concerned about the time to repair the unit and not the cost, as we were traveling from home (Portland, OR) to the Carolinas and needed to be back east by a certain date. Long story short... -Estimate for completion was 2 weeks. It took 5 weeks. -Delay was caused because they ordered the wrong hydraulic jack. The only reason they knew it was the wrong jack was do to after 3 weeks I went to the dealership and asked to see my rig. The service manager told me the jack had to be custom made (not true, I found the replacement jack on the rv manufacturers web site). The truth was after 3 weeks they hadn't ordered one and when they did it wasn't the correct unit. -After 5 weeks went to pick unit up....the frame had not been straightened using the computer technology they initially said they'd use to ensure it was properly straightened, as the computer unit was broke and wouldn't be fixed for a couple more weeks. We were billed extra for this service. -Upon my inspection...the hydraulic fluid reservoir was almost empty (it must be filled to work consistently and properly), the service manager had to drive to a gas station and buy some. The tire that was damaged hadn't been replaced. I had them put my spare on and refund me money for the tire they were supposed to purchase. I spoke with the General Manager who stated he was, "embarrassed, shocked and sorry"....yet he didn't offer any type of compensation for the extra three weeks of delay, the lying or the poor service. This was by far the worst service I've ever encountered....! Stay away... read more

1) When we were shopping for our latest RV, McClain's "best offer" was $15K more than the deal we were able to find outside the metroplex in Witchita Falls - make sure that you check elsewhere before buying. 2) Before you buy here, notice the road to the service department in the back - the horrible state of repair on that road tells you just how much they care about helping you with service, once they've got your money from the sale... Not at all. 3) If you didn't buy your RV here, they simply will refuse to do any parts or service at all. Will be reporting them to Winnebago. We've purchased and had serviced many RVs over the years, and have never experienced such terrible customer service. read more

(1) We were very happy with the price for our RV, since we drove down from Colorado to pick up the unit. (2) Murphy as our sales person did a good job. (3) The problem discovered as we were driving back to Colorado is McClains did not think to re-winterize the RV, as the day of our purchase they ran water thru the systems to insure the RV plumbing as well as heating worked. 100 miles outside the Dealership we called them and explained we were heading back to cold temperatures and needed the RV winterized. We ended up going into Oklahoma City McClains (and this dealership was VERY HELPFUL) yet by now we were out an additional $157. McClains Denton subsequently reimbursed us after we made it an issue. In September of 2016 my husbands and I purchased a 2016 Imagine. During the 'wine and dine' period of purchasing the camper we were called, romanced and treated like royalty. Fast forward 1 1/2 years and boy do the tables turn. Our AC unit started blowing hot air and the slide out is malfunctioning. We called and took the camper to be checked and are on week three and they still have the camper. We were told there was a recall on the slide out...then when we called to get a status...were told it was a 'suggested' recall and we have no clue if they are going to repair the slide out or pass the blame on us in some way so we have to pay for repairs that they CLEARLY are aware of as being a factory default. The AC unit had rodent marks on the wiring, (very slight I may add), and now we're being told that our warranty will not pay and we will have to replace the unit with a whole new system at the whopping cost of $1,400.00. These people will not work with you...they could care less! I will be turning them in to the better business bureau today! read more

I contacted McClain's about trains in my Fifth wheel and was asked several questions about the unit I order for McClain's to give me a trade in value. My RV is nice and clean with no major defects and everything is in working order. When I was given the trade in value it was only $5k, the RV is worth more than that and when I told the sales person that I would rather continue using it instead of giving it away, her response was "well ok, what were you expecting?" I the told her at least $8k and she said "oh no, we can't give that" I told her that McClains would turn around and sell it for $15-16k and she said we wouldn't do that, we don't do business that way. I then mentioned to her that McClains has my exact model fifth wheel, but 2 years older for $16k on their lot, to which she had no response. These guys are not getting my business. I was ready to make a purchase but have changed my mind because of how shady McClains is. read more

AVOID!! Nothing but jerks working here. The sales man did just barely enough to make the sale. The service guy refused to readjust the hitch to make sure the trailer was safe to tow 6 hours home. We pointed out that the heater was only blowing cold air and were told it was normal and would take a few minutes to warm up. Then they shut the unit off and moved along to showing us the other things. That night we were stuck camping with our 3 small children with a heater that does not work. They refused to properly complete the paperwork for the title to include both of our names. They refused to do the legwork to seek out other loans with lower interest rates or larger down payments. Every single step of the process they made us feel like we were asking for the moon. These people are horrible and if we hadn't already driven 6 hours to pick up the RV, we would have left and told them to pound sand. read more

My wife and I live in the Las Vegas, NV area and had considered buying a Class A for a long time. When we started looking around at various dealers we noticed an extreme variation in pricing for the same model that we were looking for. We happened across an admin RV Trader with listings from McLain's RV Superstore in Denton, TX. Once we connected with a salesman, Aaron Jacobson, the process could not have been more straight forward. Their price was great, so we agreed on terms. Any of our pre-sale concerns were promptly addressed and was as hassle free as anyone could reasonably expect. When we flew from Vegas to Dallas, Aaron picked us up at the airport, drove us back to the dealership and the pre-delivery "show-out" was expertly conducted by Sierra. After that we met with Vanessa in financing and we went thru the closing process. Vanessa was very knowledgeable and helpful. She got us great financing terms and wisely guided our choice in choosing an extended service plan. SO, guys at McClain's RV Superstore in Corinth/Denton, THANKS! If you are looking for a dealership that is based on honesty and integrity this is not the dealership you want to do business with. We purchased from them and they totally screwed us over. They wrote the deal up on their little green sheet with all the numbers etc and had us initial it. When the financing came back at a different price than what we had initialed we asked for a copy of the offer sheet (not sure what to call it). They sent it to me with white out all over it and numbers and additions that were not there originally. All I can say is if you do business with them get copies or take pictures of any and all paperwork before it gets sent to the finance department. Once you initial it with out a copy of the original document you are screwed. They sell a great product but if the sales manager is using these types of selling practices I can only imagine what he is teaching the rest of the sales people. To be concise, Their service department is the worst experience we have ever had with any type service department. We had to have our RV there for ten weeks out of four months for an awful sewer smell inside the coach. They never could find the problem. They claimed to have dropped the under body liner, but the original rivets were still in place, so they clearly never did. We finally had the repair completed when we had the under body pulled down and found a slow black water tank leak at the dump valve. One of the heater ducts had been torn, so the smell was pulled up into the coach. The repair took about three hours. There's more to report, but don't want to make this too long. Bottom line: Nice people in sales, very poor performance in service. read more

Bought a nice used 5th wheel. It had some slide seal issues that the salesperson said would be taken care of. When I took delivery, the seals appeared to be corrected and the sales person assured me they were. A few weeks later I needed to get on the roof and found that the seals were melted into a gooey mess on top of the slide. I called several times and sent emails. I finally recieved a reply stating that it was not their proplem. I asked why I was told the seals were repaired/ replaced but were not? No response. read more

OK, this is about sales, not service. We went to the store having done our research and wanting to look at two in-stock models after getting internet pricing. We had no intention of buying yet. We were met by W.J. He took to both models, opened them up and let us explore. He had accurate answers to our questions or found out the accurate answer. When it was clear that the models we were looking at did not have the driver's side leg room (I am 6'4") or storage my wife wanted, we asked about other options. There was no pressure to look further by W.J., but he answered questions and identified an option - a used model 8 months in service before a trade in with 3,400 miles. It was perfect. But that is just the beginning. That day and over the next week W.J. was available, took care of details and made us feel like we were his most important customers. Mind you - he was really busy taking calls from other customers to solve their problems, arranging for other deliveries and answering all of our questions. And he did it all without missing a beat! From the minute we stepped on the lot until we happily drove away we felt like he was working for us.
