Han and cheese omelet with hash browns.

Located in what looks like an old house, had a homie feel too. Service was great. They had two people checking on me constantly filling my drinks. The food was delicious! I would definitely eat there again.

Cuban sandwich and fries cooked to perfection. One bite from this Cuban, and you know it was made with love.

Very friendly service. I ordered the Cuban sandwich with some sauerkraut on it , with fries. And a large coffee. The coffee came out as black as night, which is my favorite. The Cuban sandwich was absolutely tender and mouthwatering delicious. One bite from it and you know it was made with love. The fries were perfectly cooked. I added my own pepper and garlic powder and some hot sauce.

We were greeted with a smile from the lady at the front desk, she took our order for a bacon & egg biscuit and a sausage & egg biscuit to go. We received friendly and prompt service. Both biscuits were very good. We would definitely recommend McDavids's Cafe. Give it a try!

I visited this local Southern cuisine while I was working in town with the law firm helping homeowners with the recent hurricane that hit , upon arrival, I was greeted by a local customer ( sitting in lobby ) which I thought was cute because you don't see that in bigger cities. I loved the energy in here . I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical walking over to this restaurant as a minority woman. I was greeted with a warm smile from Ashley and that just made my day , the food was delicious, I got chicken wrap and I ate every bit of it . Overall , I highly recommend this local hidden gem ! P.S It was not busy at all but I can see this place can get busy depending on what's going on in town that's just common sense ‍ PET Friendly!!!

Donuts to go, before I could get a picture with family had already ate most of the donut holes and a donut!

We came in for the fresh donuts and took them to go, they were excellent! And will be on our list when we return to get more. Fresh and hot and tastes great.

This review is for their lunch. I believe their breakfasts are much better than lunch. The stop serving breakfast at 11:00 and you must order from the lunch menu. The food - husband ordered loaded fries and I ordered Philly cheesesteak. Both were ordinary. We bought 2, $3 donuts to go. Absolutely not worth it. Again very ordinary, Dunkin is better. The service - it was chaotic. No idea which person was our server. Several different people took the order, brought the drinks, food, bill, cleaned up. Didn't feel "taken care of", I felt like a number not a person. The ambiance is very nice with local art and pictures on the walls.

    8/8 donut heaven!

We didn't find this gem till day 4/5 of our trip, so we ate here day 4 AND 5! Everything in this town feels like home and McDavid's was no different. We sat ourselves and had their coconut iced coffee delivered in what felt like seconds. We had two waitresses helping us and had what we needed before we could even think to need it. I'm not a donut person, in fact, it's the ONE dessert I can easily say no to, but we figured they were famous for their donuts so we ordered them. And then ordered more. And then took a box to go. Holy moly. They were incredible. Everyone here went the extra mile to make sure our experience was great, and my goodness it was! Don't pass McDavids! It's a must do if you're in Steinhatchee! **we saw someone try to open the door and leave because it wouldn't open..It's NOT locked! You just have to twist it! Do NOT miss this place. Bang on that door if you have to!

We ordered jumbo blue crab claws, bacon cheeseburgers, bone-in wings, and washed it all down with cold beers. To top it off, we finished with a slice of Key Lime pie. Every single dish came out hot, fresh, and cooked to order -- exactly what you want after a full day on the water. But the real highlight of our visit was our waitress Kiley. She was absolutely fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and made sure our drinks were never empty. Great service like hers is hard to find and makes all the difference. If you're in the Steinhatchee area and looking for great food and even better service, don't walk -- run to Deadman's Bay. We'll definitely be back next fishing trip!

Our waitress was attentive throughout the meal, and the manager/owner (I'm not sure which) personally came by to check on us. I also noticed him visiting other tables, which was a nice touch and showed good customer service. We originally wanted to sit outside because the view and setting are beautiful, but the Steinhatchee gnats were definitely out that evening. Unfortunately, I forgot our gnat spray -- and around here you know that's almost mandatory! We started with the conch fritters, and those were a hit with both of us. Very flavorful and definitely something I'd order again. I ordered the scallops, which were tasty, although they weren't served very hot and the breading was falling off a bit. My husband had the shrimp dinner and enjoyed his meal as well. The salad bar was fresh and nicely stocked, which we appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would return, especially for the atmosphere, friendly service, and conch fritters.

Our first red flag (and I will say it almost made us just turn around and leave) was the surly hostess who seated us. Although the place was not busy at the time (5ish on a Friday night) she wanted to seat us at the bar. We told her we preferred a table so her next move was to put us at a table right in front of the live band stage. Did I mention they were NOT busy?! So we were jerks and moved ourselves to a side table. Our server was super sweet and friendly. We started with the half dozen oysters which ended up being $24! We have been to high end restaurants (Michelin) and never paid $4 per piece. I got the grilled fish which came as a bunch of tough pieces with very little flavoring. The best thing on my plate? The greens. Hubs got blackened scallops. He enjoyed those. When I say I don't usually give poor reviews, I did think twice before even posting this one since so many people enjoy this restaurant

We were warned that there were only 2 wait staff on at the time, and to be patient. To that, our waitress had the sweetest southern accent, her name started with an M, she was amazing. She handled her section, yes we waited but had no real complaints. The prices were a bit out of line with the food offerings. I paid $25.99 for some tender, juicy shrimp and $29.99 for a plate of "fried scallop" all were the size of a nickle and tasted like punched ray wing. I iver heard another customer state that they would like more chicken in their Chicken Alfredo, as the serving they got, 4 peices was ridiculous for the price they charge.

A very entertaining, true Florida, off the beaten path experience. While the restaurant is not the best in the world, it's pretty good and the only option on a Tuesday night that we could find. The place was crowded and we were taken care of with the right level of attention. We stayed in the newly remodeled first floor of one of the buildings. There's still lots of cleanup and re-building to do. It's a little sad to see Steinhatchee suffer so much. But glad to see folks trying to make a go of life again.
