This McDonalds on Western Ave between Crossgates Mall and Stuyvesant Plaza had been torn down to the ground and built back up. I went through the drive thru on Friday April 8 at 1:00 pm. I ordered a large Quarter Pounder meal and a Filet-O-Fish. I also asked for a McFlurry. They said "the machine is out of order ". One o'clock is lunch time. A Manager should be on top of that. Went to location at 11:05 for two happy meals (hungry toddlers and we promised them a happy meal for a treat). The rude girl behind the counter said lunch wasnt being served yet and when we said it was after 11 we were told there is another location a couple miles away and maybe they are serving lunch because they ready. I called and a guy picked up and said they were serving lunch and his friend didnt ask him if they were ready. No apology, no offer to come in for happy meals and now I have two screaming toddlers. Im not one to complain but this is ridiculous! Every single time we go to this location we have issues, wrong items in happy meal, no burgers, rude employees. I get it, they are kids, they arent the most skilled but not being a jerk should be a requirement for making twelve dollars an hour to take a happy meal order. This is probably one of the worst McDonalds to go to in Albany County. This location used to be good until my last visit from 12/5/2019. At 10pm my friend and arrived to grab dinner after a long night choir rehearsal. We were looking forward to it because we needed food in our systems after an hour drive. We arrived to order our food and it took at least 5 minutes for the night shift employee to asked what we want. My friend ordered 2 double cheeseburgers with no pickles, a small fry, and large sprite tropic berry. I ordered 1 Triple cheeseburger with no pickles and substituting ketchup to big mac sauce. We then asked her to give us 2 separate orders because we were paying separately. She informed to use that she needed to go get her manager for that. So we waited at least 3 minutes for her to get back to us for our orders. She informed to us that the manager said that we can only do it in 1 order. Every other fast food joint and other mcdonalds locations were able to do it and I found it ridiculous. So when we arrived to the window, she was extremely distracted and asked us to repeat the order. After when my friend paid she gave us our drinks and told us to parked in a parking spot to wait for our food??? Never seen that before at any mcdonalds before. Are you kidding me? Like for real why did we need to do that??? We went to our parking spot and we were hoping to get our food. We saw her come outside and gave food to a customer that waited much less than we did. The customer was even behind us in the drive thru too. And from what we have seen, she seemed like in a very bad mood or stressed. No matter if you are having a bad day or not, you need to have positive attitude in a working establishment, or it else it can be an easy way to say goodbye to our job. She clearly didn't seem to care and we were disappointed to see that. We waited in our parking spot for a good 10 minutes until my friend got exteremely frustrated. We didn't see a car at the window. So we drove back to the drive thru window and there we saw the manager. My friend was upset and explained to the manager about our food situation. We told him that we ordered 2 double cheeseburgers without pickles, small fries, a triple cheeseburger also without pickles and substituting ketchup to big mac sauce. After 2 minutes we finally got our food. The manager was very nice by giving my friend another large drink, giving us cookies to go with that unexpectedly and apologized about what had happened. The manager was the only thing that made our experience slightly better, and show good employment for his role. Good props to him. So when we got our food, we looked in the bag to make sure our order was correct. We got our burgers but my triple cheeseburger came out wrong. It said on the receipt that said a triple cheese with no cheese, no pickles and no ketchup. So the burger showed as a double burger without cheese. It only had 2 beef patties and mac sauce eventhough the receipt on the burger said "Triple Cheeseburger." What kind of McDonalds is this if they only give you 2 beef patties when you order a triple cheeseburger. Really??? In total amount of waiting for our food it took us approximately 30 minutes. This is McDonalds!!!! Not a resteraunt like TGI Fridays!!!! The McDonalds just right next door on Washington Ave have beyond better service. At that location, the employees there seem to actually give a shit about their jobs and make sure you get your right order. I wouldn't even care to drive 15 minutes to the McDonalds in Glenmont. That location is one of the best locations I have been to in Albany county and the food always comes out correct and fresh. I have never been so disappointed my life to see this McDonalds have employees that don't give a shit about their jobs. They are very understaff and especially at night because all I have seen is only the manager and the one employee who didn't show good attitude to her job. I am even surprised to see it still in business when its understaff and employees not showing positive attitude and giving a shit about their jobs. They just want the money and don't care about the customers. It is such a shame to see this location open in business when they screw up your orders, don't give a shit about you, and understaff. You are better off going to Washington Ave, or any other location in Albany County. Even driving to Glenmont is a better experience than what I had that night. Not sure what is going on here but in the past few months the service has taken a nosedive - the drive through wait times are unreal - we are talking like 20 minutes from the order speaker to the window for no apparent reason at all - and this has been my experience the last 3 times - heck, I worked at McDonald's in high school and they used to make us get the food in 30 seconds from when we took the money. Plus, as you look into the restaurant from the car the floor is filthy - what's happened? Why isn't management backing up the drive thru if the attendant can't handle the traffic? I literally JUST picked up two little burgers and a medium fries. How tough is that at 5:30pm when only two cars are in the drive thru??? It's not about the food. The food is the same at every McDonalds. Every time my husband and I come here- we wait anywhere from 15-30 minutes in drive thru just to get to a window. When you finally pay, they still aren't ready and make you park. It's absolutely ridiculous. EVERY TIME. For those who are saying "Just go inside", I'm here to tell ya, it's no different. We were in the drive through with no one behind us and no one in front of us, we had just pulled in so we asked for a minute, he gave much attitude when saying "i guess " I then said which meal I wanted and before getting out a medium fry he continuously repeated "what else what else" while cutting me off. i couldn't even get out which drink i wanted before he rushed us along to the next window. once he handed us our meal he said "here's your food". The food here is standard McDonalds, nothing unusual. There is a small (read only for real little kids) play area, free wifi, and cheap coffee. The coffee that they use is Newmans Own which is good quality, just make sure you check to see when it was last brewed. Bathrooms are ok, cleaned regularly, which is helpful. Parking lot is a good size, but access back to Western Ave can be tricky. Your best bet is to go out onto Church Road and use the light there. read more

I've enjoyed eating at McDonald's however, 1602 Western Ave in Albany N.Y. is a McDonald's to avoid. I ordered a Big Mac and Triple Cheese Burger and a Large order of fries to dine in. The burgers were lukewarm as if the hamburger patties were sitting for a long time. The fries was worse. It was not hot at all. Dining tables and chairs needed to be wiped of remnants of food particles. The bathroom needs a good wash too. This location shows a lack of concern by the owner(s). In general, McDonalds team members are responsible and work very hard. I will not return to this location. read more

"Best to cancel the card because people who work here can't be trusted." At 3am the manager called and said they had found my card. At 9:12pm, I paid for my order of 1 Sausage Egg McMuffin, 1 Bacon Egg & Cheese Biscuit, and 1 large Coke at the drive-thru. I was asked to pull ahead of the drive-thru window to wait for my order to be delivered. I noticed that the time on my car's clock matched the time on the receipt, so after waiting 10 minutes (it was raining hard, and because I wear hearing aids, I was very reluctant to go inside to either get my money back, or get my order) for my order, I called the phone number on the receipt and asked the person who answered (unprofessionally) about the status of my order, and when I should expect it to be completed. At that point an employee delivered a bag with my two sandwiches, and no Coke. After asking the person on the phone for my drink, the employee who delivered the sandwiches came back out with the drink. In the rain. By the time I was able to pull away with my order it was 9:27pm. The sandwiches were **warm** - I wish I had not chosen this particular one, and going forward I will patronize the McDonald's that is on the other side of our neighborhood.
