Update: since covid the food quality tanked and we can't even go inside anymore to even out the experience. I am so sad this was my favorite McDonald's. It has been consistently disappointing each time we go here now. I guess things can't be perfect forever! As someone who's lived all over the country and had McDonald's at so many different restaurants I can say this is by far the best McDonalds I've ever been to. Their food is perfectly cooked, it's what McDonald's should be! And the consistency is incredible, 4 out of 5 times we were more than satisfied with our food and service. I am pregnant so we're here a lot . When we moved here we could not believe the quality of the food. I find it funny how many bad reviews are on here, because its McDonalds. Yes, occasionally they don't fill your drink all the way up, or forget something or slip up here and there but my gosh they're human beings!! That can happen anywhere. I never write reviews for something like McDonald's but this had to be said. I think they're doing a great job and I commend management for keeping the place so clean and staying on top of the food quality! read more

I arrive at mcdonald's looking forward to getting the monopoly prizes. On the screen at the drive through showed that you can win prizes from ordering the meals with hashbrowns. I order the meal with a hashbrown and drive all the way home which is 10 miles away. I open the bag and look at my hashbrowns and there are no stickers for monopoly. Of course i call and complain and they told me that they stopped making the stickers. No where did it say that on the drive through menu. I am very disappointed! read more

Every single time I get food here multiple items are missing from the order. The drive thru staff on nights are nasty and unprofessional. When I have to go back through the line for the items THEY forgot they get pissed at me the customer for it. Service is a bit slow, but McDonald's fry's and chicken nuggets are really good when you want something simple and good. Sure it's not 5 star top of the line but when you think about will a mass food chain have amazing food. We tried the order on the app tonight - what a clusterf**k! Over an hour wait and our order was still wrong! Our food was cold, the fries weren't even filled, missing milk for the happy meals, and we still had to pay for it. It is true what the other reviewer has stated about this location, I have had my order here messed up MULTIPLE TIMES. I used to go here at least once a week when I lived in Altoona because they were one of the only places opened late. That was the main positive note for this location. Now the food and everything else about this McDonalds is the same as other locations, but their constant errors in orders is frustrating. There are times when I notice it immediately and they fix it, but other times when I'm home I don't feel like driving back to get the problem fixed. My caution for this location is to check your food before you leave to make sure you fot everything you paid for. read more

The Altoona McDonald's is the WORST McDonald's ever. It took over 30 minutes to get our food and then half of it was ice cold. I asked to speak to a manager, she replaced the cold food and otherwise he only response was basically oh well, we are busy. Several customers were struggling to get refunds because they weren't getting their food either. read more

Awful drive thru, waited 20 minutes and they gave my order to the car behind us and our was wrong

If I could give this location zero stars, I would.. Where should my complaints start?! These are all different instances, but here goes! 1.) My 12 year old spent his hard earned money on a quarter pounder with NO bottom bun. It was straight cheese on cardboard. I complained and never heard back from management. 2.) I ordered almost $30 dollars worth of food. They forgot about $5.00 worth of cheese burgers and of course my benefit of the doubt got the best of me. I got home, 5 minutes after receiving my food and that is when I noticed the burgers were missing. I immediately called the restaurant to tell them I am coming back for my food. The gentleman that answered literally told me that I can't have my money back or my sandwiches. He told me he can only send me vouchers in the mail. I provided all my information and I was told that I would be receiving it in the mail. Well, that was more than a week ago. So once again my complaint was ignored. This one isn't so much a complaint, but it could give you the insight on why this establishment is a hot mess! 3.) I ordered two sundaes, paid with a $5. I got change back for a $20. read more

This particular restaurant has probably been open for less than 2 years and I have probably visited this restaurant a total of 12 times as a drive-thru customer and I have yet to receive a fully correct order. I honestly don't think this restaurant can do anything right. They consistantly leave items out of your order and very rarely give you straws or napkins. It is almost like a sick joke. I have now started to boycott this McDonald's as well as the other Altoona location on Adventureland Drive (owned by the same people). Worst customer service ever! After waiting about 10 minutes to place an order, I get to my hotel room and was not given what I paid for! Called to talk to a "manager" which had the worst people skills I have seen! Annie which could not give me her last name aside from being rude was not helpful at all! There is a lack of good customer service at this location! When their hiring sign says hiring friendly people make sure you have friendly people working there first! Avoid this place at all cost! I've ate inside a few times. It's not bad. It's clean and they have wifi. I've always had the right order inside. Drive through is decent. I've always gotten the right thing. Never had an issue yet. Staffs friendly. There's always someone cleaning up. You can get a salad in the early morning hours to have for lunch at work if you forget lunch. It's a chain so the food is what it is. It's hot and isn't a mess. Overall a good place to stop. read more

I would give lower than a 1, but no option for that. I drove through this McDonalds and ordered only a diet coke. I was in a hurry and didn't notice until I was halfway home that I was given the wrong drink. I tried to call several times when I got home to let them know I was unhappy, but no one answered the phone, just a recording telling me to enter my access code. I have gotten the wrong order several times at this location. You go through a drive through usually because you are in a hurry. I honked and asked the person what was going on & she said they only have one person to help out. Horrible. My family and I have been frequently coming to this location since it opened. Its close to home and convenient. In the past we have had problems with missing food. But, today was definately the last time I will ever go there. I picked up breakfast on the way to school for my 3 daughters. When I stopped to eat my biscuit and gravy, neither biscuit was even covered with gravy. I attempted to eat it anyway, but about halfway through I couldnt choke down the pastiness anymore. It was like eating dry biscuits. I saved the other half to show them and called. The lady on the phone said she would replace it if I came back. When I went back, I gave the dry biscuit box back. I wasnt even asked on the phone to bring anything back. A manager named Pete appeared and started yelling at me because I had started to eat it. After he so rudely argued with me, he did replace it. However, at that point he had me so upset that I ended up taking it back to him. I suffer from depression and couldnt even eat at that point. The last thing I need is to be yelled at by some jerk first thing in the morning. And in front of my 7 yr old daughter. I will never ever go back. read more
