I wish you could give less than one star, that's where I will start. In all my life I have never been spoken too so badly, I waited 12 minutes in drive thru after their order phone did not work. There was a sign saying no soda (that's ok) as we tried to order they informed us they don't have ice cream -that would be ok, right? Except, that isn't where she stopped. She laughed when I told her that they should have a sign up and proceeded to tell me not her problem, I asked to speak to the manager to which she laughed again, closed the window and just walked off. I have traveled around the world and had many varied experiences. However, to be laughed at and basically told to go away is a sign of McDonalds culture that they don't care about the customer. Disgusting. No wonder their shares are falling and I truly hope that if this is their ethos that they tumble to worthless. Disgusted! I have never written a complaint before and probably would put it down to one bad apple if it wasn't for the fact that over the last 3 months in Austin, McDonalds has consistently proven themselves to have appalling customer service to the point that I won't go back. This location had recently reopened after what I assume was a remodel, so I expected it to look... well... fresh. Instead, it looked like the adults had taken the day off and left toddlers in charge. While waiting for my order, I leaned against one of the half walls only to immediately pull away because it was sticky. Not "someone just spilled something" sticky. The kind of sticky that makes you wonder how long it's been since anyone wiped it down. Then I started looking around. The floors looked like they'd survived an entire day's worth of traffic without seeing a cleaning. Nearly every surface I noticed looked neglected. For a restaurant that has built its reputation on cleanliness and efficiency, it was genuinely surprising. The lone bright spot was an older gentleman working the dining room. He greeted me warmly, asked how he could help, pointed me toward the pickup area, and wished me a great day. In the middle of what otherwise felt like complete chaos, he was the only person who projected professionalism and genuine hospitality. Then came the food. My fries were limp and soggy. The chicken was dry, tasted as though it had been sitting far longer than it should have, and honestly wasn't worth eating. I ended up stopping at Trader Joe's, buying a salad instead, and throwing the Chick-fil-A meal straight into the trash. I hate wasting food. I hate wasting money even more. But I especially hate wasting both at the same time. I sincerely hope this was just an unusually bad day for them. For me, though, one visit was enough. I'll be taking my quick lunch stops elsewhere.
