Hot chicken isnt my favorite thing but I wanted to give this popular place a try! First of all, i liked the environment, it was clean and comfortable. Our server was attentive and gave really fast service. I got the "og" sandwich with hot spice level and it was perfect for me. The sandwich was bigger than I expected! The one thing that is really memorable for me is how creamy and buttery and sandwich buns were , it went really well with the fried chicken!

Typically great service when I've come to this location. The service was a bit lacking this visit. The options for food always great. My half Cobb was the perfect amount as usual. The boneless thighs made my husband giddy. They took a lot less time than the bone in that he gets at our location. The feel is a simple restaurant that focuses what they are good at. It is usually clean for our visits and I feel was safe to bring out of town guests. I knew it would have something for everyone. The buttermilk pie was even Southern girl approved.

My husband and I love love love Tumble 22! If you're looking for the best fried chicken in town, Tumble 22 is it--hands down. I always order the dark chicken with a side of fries and their insanely good broccoli salad. That salad alone is worth the trip--I could honestly eat it as a full meal. My husband always gets the OG sandwich with fries, and it never misses. Everything is crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection every time. Also love their key lime pie and heavenly eggs as an appetizer! Beyond the food, the atmosphere at this location is awesome. The back deck has super strong fans that keep things cool and bug-free even in Texas heat. We sat outside and were totally comfortable. Also, shoutout to our waiter he was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed.

For the price, Tumble 22 perfected their craft. Flavors are all on point. The broccoli salad is a bit sweet with the chunks of dried fruit which I enjoyed because it cut the fatty/oily flavors in the rest of the meal. The mac and cheese was amazing, gooey and the pasta shells had a bite to it! The chicken was flavorful, light crispy crunch. Highly recommend!

I am a big fan of Tumble 22 but this was my first time eating at this location and I hate to say it, but this location is not up to par with the other Tumble 22's in the area. Me and my boyfriend were both thrown off with our sandwich and the dirty fries. We barely had any chicken on our fries and the slaw on the sandwich was really throwing us off. I couldn't figure out what was different about it but it was not nearly as good as it is at other locations. All of that aside, the service was still good and I hope we just came on an off day.

The plus of Tumble 22 is the large portions of chicken. Korean style chicken is more about the sauce, rather than the crispy double-fry that I usually expect from Korean-fried chicken. The Cole slaw was decent as a side, but I thought the sides were got (I.e. collard greens) were only mid for me. After a little while, the meal feels a little one-note and you want something different. Fries are a good way to start off the meal. If you get the fries with the chicken, I wouldn't choose the Korean style chicken to change up the flavor profile. They tasted too similar to me.

My husband and I decided to try Tumble 22 Chicken as we were in the area. We pulled up, parked, and went inside. Upon entering there was a sign that said seat yourself. So we sat in a booth. The restaurant has a lot of windows so on a sunny day it's probably pretty well lit. It was cloudy during our visit so the restaurant felt a little dark but it was lit up a little bit with the lights. The restaurant has a lot of seating with long tables and high stools, it has a bar area, and a few booths. We sat at a booth. After sitting we waited a few minutes before we were greeted by our waiter who checked to see what we wanted to drink. After asking for water he quickly left and returned with the water promptly. He asked if we were ready to order but I hadn't had a chance to look at the menu. They had a QR code that you could use to look at the menu, or you could look it up online. The waiter also offered a physical copy to me if I wanted it. I used my phone to see what I wanted. He left to give me time. I decided pretty quick but we had to wait as he was busy taking care of other customers. I decided to order a small order of Dirty Fries which is fries, with queso, hot chicken, and pickles. I also ordered OG Chicken Sandwich with no heat or painless and it comes with a fried chicken breast, coleslaw, pickles, and mayo. The Dirty Fries were good. I forgot to tell the waiter no spice or painless and the chicken was spicy. I tasted the kick right away but then I got used to it. The fries were soggy from all of the ingredients but they were good mixed in with everything. The queso on the fries was okay. The OG Chicken Sandwich was tasty. The chicken was a good size, it was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The mix of the chicken with the coleslaw, pickles, and mayo gave the sandwich texture and flavor. My husband and I decided to take a piece of pie for a sweet to eat at home. He ordered the Buttermilk Pie to go. We got our pie quickly and then we were on our way. Unfortunately when we got home I was surprised to see a slice of pecan pie instead of the buttermilk pie. I was a little disappointed at first as I was really wanting the buttermilk pie but the pecan pie did not disappoint. It was delicious and sweet. Overall it was a good stopping places to eat. The restaurant was clean with different seating options, the service was okay, and the food was good. I'd return in the future.

Came In for early dinner, 6pm on a Friday. We beat the rush because it got packed after we finished eating. Plenty of seating and parking. We got the 1/2 crispy, spice level mo' hot. Which isn't spicy, but it does make your lips tingle. The bread and butter pickles are to die for. Get extra if you're a pickle person. The Mac and cheese and collards were also very good. 10/10 recommend!

Suppose to be a frozen Big Larry, but it wasn't.

Came here on St Patrick day big mistake.. Let me explain. I sat myself at the bar, no greeting or acknowledgement, after 10 minutes I FINALLY ASK THE BARTENDER if I needed to move to get service and only then, did I get service. 1. I ordered a Big Larry, their popular drink. It's suppose to be frozen but instead I got a sightly frozen margaritas, it was pretty much non frozen as you can see in the picture. The excuse that given was because it was St Patrick day and they has a special $3.17 for St Patty day. I should have left then but I stayed.. I ordered the 1/4 chicken & Deviled Eggs and my sides were Mac & cheese and Greens. The food temperature was mid and the food quality was bad, my thigh was mostly grease and breading barely any chicken. Just last week I visited the Round Rock location and it was a Night and day difference. More friendly and personable and the food quality and drinks were top level. The ambiance in Round Rock is more modern and up to date.. This was my second bad experience at this location in the past 2. years. Needless to say I will not visit this location again. I will drive out of my way to go Round Rock or to another establishment. Wasted money and time. Never again Tumble 22 Burnet rd.

Tumble 22 is a tried and true hot chicken joint! They do it right and the spice is real. I usually get the Mo Hot and the Dang Hot heat level depending on how I'm feeling that day lol. The tenders are pretty big, so 2 works perfectly for me. You must get the dirty mac- soo delicious and flavorful with lots of fun textures. It is usually really easy to get seated- sometimes it's full inside but the outdoor patio has fans so it's not too bad even in the warmer months.

A very busy place even around 1:30pm. We got seated quickly and order was taken accordingly. But the food took a while almost 25 minutes by the time it was served. Our Eason was very nice and pleasant. We order the Szechuan fries, white meat crispy chicken as well as the Korean chicken with sides like coleslaw, broccoli salad, mac n cheese, regular fries and greens. The chicken is on point. The mac n cheese is very cheesy. I love the greens and broccoli salad especially. Our chicken was spiced wonderfully. We got mo- spiced and dang spice. I don't know if the food always take a while to come out but other than that, its worth the try.

Dirty fries, broccoli, salad, Steve's collard, greens, and mac & cheese. Everything was fantastic, loved it.!

Really cute place in Austin. Very busy, but the service was very quick. I had the broccoli salad, mac & cheese, Steve's collard greens and the dirty fries. Everything was absolutely delicious.

What kind of oil is used to fry?

We use a blend of soybean and canola oil!

I know y'all are a fried chicken place, but do you by chance offer a grilled chicken option for someone on a limited eating plan?

I chatted with a server about this recently - they used to have grilled chicken on specific days of the week but they decided to do away with it. Apparently there’s a lot of flour in the Tumble 22 kitchen and the risk of cross-contamination for… Read more

When is southern sandwich & oysters coming back? Really doesn't make sense to remove two of the best items on the menu during covid.

Hey there, Rahul! If we do bring back any of our old specials, we'll be sure to make an announcement about it on our social media. Until then, you can enjoy our monthly O.G. specials, such as our Texas Twister for November!

For someone that likes spicy but not overwhelmingly spicy, which level of spice should I get?

Dang Hot.... or.. Cluckin' Hot. I would pick Cluck. Stay away from Stupid Hot if you're not trying to go overboard. Overall, they have brought the heat level as of late down. You should be good either way!!

Are you guys buying precooked eggs (deviled eggs), and potato salad these days? I used to love both menu items, and now they taste like grocery store deli food.

I was told wimpy is no spice. If you come at happy hour (4-6 weekdays) they have small portions that would work just fine.

Do they have a kids menu...didn't see it on the menu?

Unfortunately, they don't. But my kids usually share a plate as the portions (chicken and sides) are quite large.

    Are they open during Thanksgiving?

    No they're not

Do they sell shirts and hats? If so how much is the shirt? and how much is the Hat? Before tax?

Yes they sell shirts and hats. No idea on cost I'm guessing $20-30 range.

The waitress was friendly and she brought us water fairly quickly. The garlic Parmesan fries are a must order and they were expertly fried and had a spectacular crunch and texture. The garlic was very balanced and not overwhelming, and they were super generous with the amount of Parmesan. The chicken wings were also equally amazing with a super crunchy, light batter, well seasoned chicken and the sauces were delectable. I really liked the honey garlic Parmesan because it is unique and not something I've had before. The sweet soy was also nicely balanced and paired well with the wings. The Ruma's chicken crispy pops was good, but I wish the pieces of chicken were slightly bigger so that the ratio of batter to chicken would be less overwhelming. The sauce was more sweet than spicy and it would have been better if they added a Mala spice component. My diagnosis: come here for exceptional Korean wings and craveable garlic fries

I returned last Sunday (Super Bowl Sunday) for lunch to see if my good experience was an anomaly or a pattern. The good news is, Wingzup is consistently excellent. I would be remiss if I did not recognize the service at this restaurant. Wingzup sits in the casual market segment for restaurants, but their customer service is on par with fine dining. Stephanie and Vicki helped me out this time and provided my wife and me with wonderful service. This service was in spite of the restaurant cooking over 5,000 wings for takeout for the big game. It was a constant flow of people picking up orders from a few dozen to a few hundred wings. Despite these drop in guests nobody in the dining room ever waited for anything. I was encouraged to try their grilled wings after my Google review. Customers said they are so good...and they did not lie. I got mine naked and got four sauces to dip them in, plus blue cheese. I loved the Sweet Chili and the Habanero Ranch the first time and got them again. Also the medium Buffalo. Stephanie suggested the Mango Habanero and it was on point. One of the best wing spots in the city! Try the pickle chips and the New York Putines. The Jalapeño Poppers are also great.

Our server was a very nice woman who was on top of our table. We got beers (because: wings) and the fried buffalo wings with the korean fried wings. The buffalo ones were not crispy enough, so that was a bummer, but still, fine. We loved the korean fried ones, but they were more just like mini fried chickens as opposed to the traditional korean version (also, we did not appreciate the sticky sauce that it came out with). Our daughter was happy with her chicken nuggets. The only major party foul was the fact that our waffle fries came out cold, so we asked for new ones, and those were definitely not in the fryer long enough and they were scorching. Basically, we got what we were expecting when we came here. So, hope still springs eternal in the world of wings. Three stars, same same.

The dumplings are 100% not homemade, but they toss them in a decent sauce so they can be more palatable (we would skip those). The fries are nice and crispy, and the brussels sprouts are excellent. So, so good, and a decent amount as well. The radishes are the typical ones you get at these joints, and they are a must. As for the main star, the chicken, it was as it should be: with shattering layers of breading and hot meat on the inside. The coating was almost a bit too thick, though. We liked the soy garlic sauce and just wished there was some actual Korean aspect to the buffalo. Prices were consistent with portions, and they do have respectable beers on draft. We have some quibbles, yes, so it's 3 stars for now, but we'll definitely be back because it's close to home and will hopefully have a more overall impressive experience next time.

I have the secret sauce lunch special with the boneless option and their skewers of sausage and those rice cakes. I went to Seoul last month and I think this place does a good job of what they are doing. Good soju choices. I'll be back.

It is great paired with the rice, and the pickled radish is a good palate cleanser. However, the service from the male servers is consistently disappointing. Every time I visit when they are working, the service is significantly slower. I often see them standing around doing nothing while the female servers are running around doing most of the work. They rarely check in on the table unless food is being delivered, and getting the check takes forever even when they are just standing by the register. My party and I usually have to walk up to the register ourselves just to ask to be checked out. I feel bad for the female staff because they are perfectly attentive and seem to be carrying the weight of the service. Also, a heads up on their rewards program: it's pretty weak. You earn 100 points per $1, but you need 5,000 points just for a side of steamed rice. Spending $50 for a $2 side doesn't feel like much of a reward. I hope management addresses the service imbalance because the food is great, but the experience depends entirely on who is working that day.
