I went to Mc Donald's then they made me pull up to a parking spot to get my food so I do because I ordered a lot and I waited for an hour and no surprise I didn't get it. So I went up to the the drive through and said politely I have been waiting for a long time and the employee rudely said that I have to go inside to show my receipt and I politely asked for the manager and they said that too. So I argued that I had groceries in the car and then I pulled up to the parking spot and eventually after another twenty minutes I got my food. Fast and easy service! We used the ap for curbside pickup and it was brought out within 5 minutes. Customer service was friendly as well! Our food was hot! I will say the McChicken tastes different these days, kind of tough not spongy anymore. Almost like a mix of the McCrispy and McChicken would be the best way to describe it. I'm not sure what people are expecting when they go to a McDonald's, but this location is consistently good (by McDonald's standards). I swing by the breakfast more than I should....and the biscuits are always fresh and the service is great. When I went today, the drive thru line was long, but moved fast. We never got to try the food. After managing the quirky kiosk that only 1/2 worked we placed our order. We couldn't pay for it so had to pay at the register. We stood there for 10 minutes before someone came up to take care of us. We went and sat down. And waited. And waited. And waited. After 20 minutes we decided to leave as during this time car after car after car came and went through the drive through while we sat and got NO food. We go back to the counter. No one comes up. My husband hollers and finally one kid comes, takes my receipt and disappears. Nothing for several more minutes. I finally step behind the counter to get their attention and they freak. Needs less to say we finally got our refund and were able to leave. They need to seriously consider actually serving everyone in the order they arrive and place their order. This McDonald's is a good one. They stay busy! Considering they're the only McDonald's in Bardstown, they do a wonderful job getting their customers through. Now, with all the different options of ordering, there's a lot more going on than just drive thru orders, and the amount of customers in the lobby. They have online orders, Door Dash, and they even bring it to your car if you park and order through the mobile app. This store rocks! It really does. Honestly the town could use another McDonald's. Regardless of the overwhelmingly negative reviews. Upon first going through the drive through, The establishment overall is tidy, clean and eye catching from the outside. Drive through is a decent speed. I don't consider sitting in one spot a huge negative. You are in and out the drive through within 5 mins. If very busy, 7-9. Drive through staff is VERY respectful. Maybe a little funny. Staff overall is very nice, understandable and funny. Inside, always clean, CLEAN TABLES AND CHAIRS. As previously stated, staff is incredibly nice. Also their patience is... Not one of your better McDs. Extremely slow service. Dining room was too cold to eat without our coats, and with food that was barely warm to begin with the food got cold very quickly. No fountain or tea dispensers in the dining room, so you have to get someone's attention, and you also can't sweeten the tea to you taste since you can't basically only tell them to half cut it. read more

WARNING went to McDonalds #4281 on Dec. 1st, 2023 in Bardstown, Kentucky to pic up a mobile order that I made at 6:24pm. I got 2 Mc.Chickens, 2 Mc.Doubles and. Quarter pounder with cheese. I did pick up at counter because it was raining and didn't want a worker to come out in the rain. Got my food finally at 6:48pm. A 30 min wait is a normal experience at this Mc.Donalds. (Which is Ridiculous )Passed out the food to everyone in the car. Starting eating. My husband said his Quarter Pounder felt funny chewing it. Turned on the dome light to see that his burger was completely raw. He got sick. I have pictures of the burger. Have filed a complete but nothing has been done. Complained to store but just got attitude. Funniest thing is when I went in there were balloons and a banner saying that TOM BURREL the owner of the store had just one an award for great service, blah, blah , blah. How did that even happen. This is one of the saddest McDonalds that I've ever been to. I stopped in Saturday, April 15th for the last time. As we approached the door the lunatic that was banging on the door, informed us that the dining room was closed because they were short staffed. He went on to explain that they messed up his burger and he refused to wait in the drive-thru line again. So, he threw the open faced burger at the glass... I guess because that usually helps him get his way. Note to fast food consumers all across the land. If it's so important to you that your meal is correct, check the individual item, before you drive away from the window. I always look in the bag and count the items to make sure they are all there. If an item doesn't have my extra pickles (which is always my one special request) once I get to my destination, it's not that big of a deal to me. We were hungry, so we decided to wait it out in the drive thru line. There are two lanes, but for some reason, no one was waiting in the second lane. I wasn't about to start that trend from five+ cars back.... let's face it, there are some crazy people in Bardstown. Once we finally got up to the first window to pay, the young girl working that window was no older than 17. The same goes for the second window, that young guy was nice but very young. If I had to guess, I would say that this location suffers from poor, lack of management. The food... my chicken sandwich and fries were so cold that if I had been dining in, I would've sent them back. This time, I was hungry and wolfed them down without saying a word. No amount of renovation will help this place until they have a competent and trained staff that knows what the heck they're doing. I've even so much as sent an email to corporate on this location. I don't think I've ever had a good meal at this place. Today I ordered a Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal and a Cheeseburger Kids meal for my daughter. I got a double quarter pounder. Which isn't bad, I can take the extra patty off right? Wrong. The bun was rock hard, the patties were over cooked and it was impossible to even try and eat. The absolute worst burger I've ever seen. My fries weren't fully cooked either. They were a soggy, salty, sloppy mess. My daughter never got her apple juice with her meal. That was partially my fault for not remembering I ordered it until I got home but this is the second time I've gotten her an apple juice with her meal and never got it. I would have thought that the staff would have been retrained in the time off they had while the whole restaurant was being renovated but I guess not. I do not know why I even bother. The food was horrible. Brent is extremely rude and supposedly a manager and I have no idea how that happened. My food was cold. I stood inside and waited forever. People came and went and I still waited. There was also a lady waiting for mobile order and her food and drink sat on the counter and he said he would bring it to her when it was done and didn't. When she asked the girl up front to see if her food was ready she pointed to the bag on the counter and said " I think that's it" when she should've checked for her since she's the customer. I read the reviews first, and thought it was unusual for McDonald's to have one star, but stopped for coffee anyways because I figured McDonald's is McDonalds. Boy was I wrong! Once in the car, the vehicle was filled with an aroma that we could only guess was the coffee (or my brother fighting a stomach ache). This McDonald's had somehow extracted aromas out of coffee grinds I thought not previously possible. Upon tasting this liquid with hesitation, the flavor instantly bombarded my taste buds and spread like an infection. I immediately began scrambling to find anything else to put in my mouth to take out the spreading flavor. The napkin seemed like the only thing within arms reach and offered little comfort vs the coffee. Pretty sure I won't be returning for that unforgiving nectar. read more

If I could give no stars I would. We've tried this place twice. The first time, our entire order was cold and stale. The bread on our sandwiches were hard, and the order of chicken nuggets we got for our son were rock hard. And forget about hot or fresh French fries. They were inedible. I called and spoke to a manager and they offered to replace the order. We had them replace it a few days later. It took them 30 minutes to assemble the order, and even then it wasn't correct...and they had the original receipt in front of them. The food was fresher than before though, but definitely not great. Tonight, after a long day of running around we decided we were in the mood for McDonald's and wanted to give this location another try. Mistake.
