Cute little store. Service was really great, I was also the only one in store at the time, so my order went pretty fast. Looks like there are quite a few food options, but I didn't get anything. I ended up getting a Salted Honey Bee latte. The poor girl had never made one before, so not sure if that's how it was supposed to taste: very milky, the honey and sprinkle of sea salt had frozen to the bottom of the cup, so I didn't get much flavor. It can be hit or miss for me here. I had no problem with the service, however, less than lukewarm coffee and a dry sweet roll doesn't impress anyone. It's a cute little place in downtown Bardstown but inconsistency in their products doesn't make me want to return. read more

We were staying in Bardstown for a few days doing the Bourbon tours. The first morning I hit up the ol Yelp to find me a cup of Joe. This is what I found close. I needed to look no further! Great coffee shop right downtown by where we were staying. Very cool place with great coffee, great looking baked goods too. The lunch menu looked good. We never got to try it though. Fresh is a coffee and pastries store front located in the heart of the popular downtown strip of historic bardstown Kentucky. Me and my daughters met some family friends in here for a coffee and hot chocolate right after stopping by nearby hadrons for donuts. The place here is much more spacious on the inside and larger than one would Expect on the outside looking in. Very lovely and well done decor. Me and my younger girls all got a basic hot chocolate. It was solid. Hit the spot well with our donuts. My oldest got a marshmallow speciality coffee drink and she was a big fan. Overall this is a nice place and has solid and good coffee options. Service was great, not only were they super helpful with food & beverages they also helped me find places to go and do during my downtime. Food - I had a chicken salad (can't remember the exact name) it was really good my only grievance was that they only had one dressed which was homemade ranch. Which isn't the end of the world it just doesn't pair well with fruit in my opinion. Also purchased two of the "Triple Chocolate Threat" cookies. Would consider moving to Bardstown for those cookies specifically. Life changing. Drinks - Unsweet tea, as expected enjoyable. Raspberry drink - SUPER sweet. I ended up drinking half of my tea and then mixing the both which also ended up being very good. Loved the ambiance, I enjoyed some people watching out the front window while I ate and read my book. i don't live in Bardstown, I stumbled across this place after leaving an appointment and was not disappointed! Walking in, this place is adorable. They have a big paper scroll on the wall that has hand written lunch specials, you walk up to a little bar to order food or drinks. I was expecting a coffee shop but this place is more like a little cafe. Lots of tables and full of people yet easy to maneuver around the restaurant. You can tell this is a place people love. I ordered an iced vanilla latte; very happy with the price, even happier with the taste! The employees were kind and helpful, I can't wait to stop back in next time I'm in town. read more

A true 3.5 star review. Look, there aren't an abundance of options in Bardstown. This place is nice, quaint, and to the point. The people I was with said the coffee was fine (which translates to slightly above average, but nothing to write home about). The pastry and sweets options changed the two times we were there, one day there was an apple crumb pie that was quite good, and then the other time some smaller baked goods, were just okay, not worth the purchase. Would def suggest if looking for a cup of coffee and in the area. read more

On our final day in Bardstown, we stopped at Fresh Coffee to fulfill our caffeine fix. We hadn't had the opportunity to venture into Fresh up until that point in the downtown area on North 3rd Street, with its cute storefront sign hanging off the building. But I was impressed with their cold brew coffee when we finally did. Fresh has set up for social distancing, ensuring patrons say behind lines that are six feet apart from each other, with plexiglass at the counter to avoid germage. The interior was quite chill, sophisticated, and conducive for those wanting to have a cup of joe or an espresso drink while doing some work or chatting with friends, or simply contemplating existence. Moreover, they have a swag shelf if you need coffee mugs or t-shirts as a memento. My only complaint is that the baristas messed up my drink order at first -- giving me an iced coffee instead of a cold brew for which I had asked. But they did rectify their error quickly. The pastries went fast that morning to where I missed out on the cinnamon roll that a patron before me ordered. Fortunately, I ordered the brownie, which was quite good upon purchasing. The cold brew was delicious, as I think the roast came locally from a local vendor out of Louisville. Overall, if I'm back in Bardstown, I know where to go for my coffee fix. read more

Looking for a good cup of coffee and something to hold us over until supper. This place was highly rated and we decided to give it a try. Beautiful place with a laid back atmosphere. Couches, chairs, and of course tables are available. My wife ordered a caramel macchiato with a blueberry scone and I ordered a pour over coffee with a bourbon pecan cinnamon roll. My wife loved her coffee and the scone was delicious. My bourbon pecan cinnamon roll was fantastic but, the pour over coffee, not so much.. I make us pour over coffee (with a Chemex) at least once a week and I'm pretty familiar with the process and how it tastes better than most coffees. For me, and this might not have been their fault, it was WAY TO STRONG for my taste. When I drink coffee I almost always drink it black and straight up. No creamer, sweetener, or syrups. So, I'd like to think I know strong coffee. This was to strong. Not bitter, just way to strong. Now it is possible I make mine a little weaker than some so, I'm not saying it's bad coffee but just know if you get their pour over coffee, it's pretty strong. Again, this isn't a knock on them but just an observation. read more

The first time I visited I assumed maybe it was a bad day, we all have them. But this is consistant. They never smile, never make small talk and just generally look unhappy to be there. Try it all you won't be disappointed! Yesterday we stopped in late in the day and still walked out with lemon cookies, a bourbon cinnamon roll and a brownie to snack on later at the hotel. Today we stopped before leaving town to get more lemon cookies (drool worthy!) a chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon roll with butter cream icing stacked on top. This place is so nice! I came with a mission, COFFEE! The gentleman working was very quiet and kind. I ordered 2 coffees and a Carmel Mocha. I love that everything is made fresh to order and isn't sitting around waiting to just be poured. There was some very delicious looking pastries and cinnamon rolls on the counters that I would've loved to try. This is a gem in downtown Bardstown that everyone needs to visit. This seems harsh but coming from someone who works at a coffee shop in a neighboring town and lives in Bardstown, this is probably some of the worst coffee in town. I'm just consistently disappointed when I get lattes here but there is nowhere else around that's open to get something different. I just can't taste the espresso, it's always so watered down or milky and it's just not good. Lattes are always too sweet or not sweet enough, it varies barista to barista. I wish there were more consistency in the drinks but the food is always very good, which I can appreciate. I have never tried the pastries but they always look very tasty. Also, I always feel like such an inconvenience to the employees and feel like I have to say sorry for asking any additional questions. There's one blonde employee who is always very sweet and Savanna (who is a good friend, I love her) made me a great latte when I went in last. I know I will continue to go here, though, because the ambience is nice and I like to get out of the house. read more

There aren't a lot of options around Bardstown for a good cup of coffee. We just wanted something to get our morning started. This place seemed like the perfect answer right on the main strip. The place looks fantastic, and the coffee was great. So, why three stars? I would ask that too. While the coffee was great, it's not anything that you couldn't get at Starbucks. They aren't turning the Java world on its ear here. The worst part was the service. When we arrived the place was almost empty. The few customers that were there seemed to have seated themselves as far from the counter as possible. When we placed our orders, I think I figured out why. The baristas actually seemed annoyed that we were there. Cold, short, and just short of being rude. I worked with the pubic for over a decade, so I try to be as polite as possible to anyone working behind a counter or at a register. We placed our orders making sure to say please and thank you, didn't have any long or special requests, and our money spends as well as anyone else's. Maybe pretend that you're not angry people showed up for coffee in the morning? Cute shop, good coffee, but I think that I'd rather spend my money on the swill that McDonald's brews. read more

Bourbon lead us on our adventure in and around Bardstown but it ended with a cup of coffee and a city hall Christmas light show. It's was Black Friday and We had to ask ourselves did we step into a hallmark Christmas movie? Fresh Coffee was perfect. Filled with coffee drinkers young and old but didn't feel crowded at all. We stepped in and instantly felt relaxed & homey. The menu board was full of choices, that I'm sure took us all longer to ponder. The staff was helpful and explained some of the items we were not too familiar. We even learned about Kentucky kombucha. Partner ordered it, and he really enjoyed it. As for me, I ordered a regular coffee w room. It was a little hot, but nothing too bad. I mean it's coffee so it's going to be hot. My sister not the coffee drinker anymore tried mine, and said she really liked it, but didn't want to hop back into the coffee train anytime soon. We took a seat by a larger window facing the street and sidewalk fully of Black Friday shoppers and family's walking down to city hall for the annual light up Bardstown. Sitting there we chatted and peopled watched. Then we walked down, coffee in hand and garther with the what felt like the entire community and watched the show.
