My wife Pooja and I decided to stop at Mcdonald's today, and I must say that I was not disappointed. The process of ordering food was simple and convenient; alongside this, they have a deals menu that gives you a bang for your buck. My wife and I got 4 McChickens, a Medium Fries, and a Chocolate Shake for less than 12 dollars. Despite it not being the best food in terms of flavor, I can't argue for the price I am paying. I also need to find out how often they clean the restaurant because most seats are dirty. Along with this, though it is not in their control, the place was filled with loud, obnoxious college kids, which was refreshing and annoying at the same time. But overall a good experience. My family and I went thru the drive thru. We had $ on our card and they had an attitude and treated us like complete crap. Steve a worker and a manager named Alex. Not good customer service at all they treat their customers like crap. And lie about transitions. We went to Wendy's and was treated with the utmost respect and the card went through there successfully. No issues. Closes rather early, at just 11PM. Sometimes they close even earlier than that. I've come by within operating hours before and the whole place is just locked up. Other than that it's your standard McDonald's. Nothing special, but they do keep it pretty clean. read more

This McDonald's is so unorganized. They 100% cannot handle having both a drive thru and a regular in-store restaurant. It also seems like there is always a wait regardless of what time you go. Today I went through the drive thru (which I normally avoid because of ridiculous lines). It was only 3 cars deep so I figured I had time. After waiting 10+ minutes to even get to the order station I was told "I'll be with you when I can" I understand being busy but it's just annoying. This McDonald's always seems to be polite when I go there. The food is usually typical of what you would expect from fast food so it's good that they don't cut corners. What they are lacking the most in is speed. I've noticed this at many McDonald's locations in recent years that the wait time has started to become so long. You can't just swing by here and expect to pick up food quickly like you used to back in the day. They really should hire more people so they can continue to call themselves a fast food restaurant. Sometimes you have to wait upwards of 30 minutes for your order number to be called during lunch time. I didn't realize this my first time here so I had to leave before getting my food. Overall it's still an ok location. They seem to keep the store clean. However I wouldn't recommend trying to come here for lunch or dinner unless you're ok with waiting. I haven't been here in a long time and after this morning that will probably continue again. I wanted the hotcakes breakfast and ordered by drive-thru. I made the mistake of thinking they would get the order right and when I got to my office I had the biscuit, eggs, and sausage patty but no hotcakes... But also had the butter and syrup. I tried calling them and no one picked up. If they had completely put in the wrong order I wouldn't be so annoyed but they charged me for the right order and packed it wrong. Wait time was not bad, cashier very friendly. I explained to her that I wanted two cheese burgers wrapped in lettuce as I cannot have the buns (Celiac's disease). I love McDonald's, but this location leaves a LOT to be desired. Can't seem to get an order correct - had to tell them 3 times what we wanted and when we got the food it was wrong and needed to return to the counter amd show them the receipt. Fries were cold. This has to be the poorest excuse for a place to eat in Blacksburg! Waited forever in the drivethru with cars in front of me pulling away prior to ordering which should have been my clue to pull on as well. Finally get up to place my order and I asked three times to make my fish filet sandwiches fresh which never popped up on the screen. Went there tonight with one of my friends, before 12am, so at around 11:45 and they had already closed everything down. There was one car in front of us at the drive through and we sat there for 10 minutes waiting for someone to talk to us, but at 11:55pm the lights on the drive through board got turned off. We all drove off about a minute after that. The hours on the door say they are open until 12am. Poor management and employees. read more

When VT is out and the students are gone, it's a fine place (usually) to take your kids. When VT is in session and the students are there, it's a horrible place for kids. College kids cursing, talking about inappropriate subjects, and have no regard or idea about the influence they are providing to the people around them.
