Pretty standard McDonald's with a drive-through and indoor seating. This is in a sketchier part of town - I went at night once and got followed partway home by 2 other guys who were lounging there for a few blocks until another pedestrian stopped them. During the daytime it feels a bit safer. At any time of day the place is pretty loud. Service is quite slow, especially around meal times when there are alot of people. Expect to wait almost 10 minutes for an order. For some reason the drinks take the longest. I once waited 15 minutes just for them to pour an apple juice. This time my food was pretty abysmal. I got 2 orders of fries and both were barely even warm and were pretty soggy. My ice coffee was also not sweet at all even though I asked for extra Splenda. It seems that now you have to always ask for ketchup with the order instead of them just giving you some. A bag for takeout also costs additional fees. Food is about the same as every other McDonalds. Meals are pretty expensive now even with the McDonalds app - regular-size meals start at around $10 before tax when on sale. This location has drive through service; therefore was a default choice on Kingsway, when in need of a quick bite or an iced drink on hot days. Yet, out of our four drive thru visits, only one order was correct...25% accuracy rate is not high! And to rub salt on wounds, that one correct order only had two items: an ice cream sundae and an iced coffee. Note to self: take time to check all items are in bag before driving off. Actually, I like their staff and find them overall friendly but this location's order accuracy has gone haywire and operations are not organized, especially when busy. I have tried twice to order from counter but the service was even more slow and on both occasions, I can see angry customers at the counter, commenting on wrong food, slow service and staff skipping their order number by mistake. In short, this is not an ideal location to expect "fast" food service but I will prob return to their drive-through service for convenience. impromptu lunch while tackling our saturday to-do list, we stopped in at mcd's by high gate around 1:30 pm. we were running late from our first errand and only had a few minutes before our next stop. suddenly, i was craving a sausage mcmuffin with egg and hashbrown. we did the drive through and was disappointed to learn they stopped making hashbrowns after 11:00 am. i haven't been to mcd's in a while, don't have their app, and had no idea that hashbrowns aren't served after 11:00 am. i thought they did all day breakfast now, or is that only at specific locations? at least we got the fries, and i got the latte, it's just not in our dna to say no to the full meal deal. thin, crispy fries with just the right amount of salt, soft on the inside, still as consistent and as good as i remembered. the sausage mcmuffin with egg is our go to. the toasted english muffin with egg, sausage and melted cheese works well together, bringing that gooey, salty goodness in every bite. ba da ba ba ba read more

This location has gone downhill in recent years. The seating area is now filled with some rather colourful characters mumbling to themselves, and the tables are sticky and gross. Guessing there aren't too many other locations to hang out late at night around this part of town. The staff here seemed completely swamped. I felt bad for them. First meal of 2022. Nothing too special about this McD. The McD looks big from the outside but its actually very small inside. The layout isn't great at this McD. Social distancing is in place at this McD. However, due to the layout the dining area or seating area or available tables are very limited. Every one of the tables were dirty when we came except the one by the broken door. We ended sitting at the one and only clean table. Because we came on January 1, 2022 and it was super cold outside, we felt the cold child coming right at us from the broken door/sliding door that won't close. We ordered our food through the app. One of the items in our order got missed and they cleared from the machine. We had to get a hold of someone which was not easy and to inform them about the order/item they missed. Also, I ordered a Big Mac and when I got my Big Mac, it was cold. There were a lot of people working on that day. Seems like majority of the orders are through drive thru, curb side pickup or through delivery app. There were people waiting for their food at the counter. I had a very large order and was impressed that the young lady was very accurate with the inventory. I guarantee I would have to repeat my order at least 3 times in the States. The payment window is different from the pick up location. They took their time with the order, making sure the order was accurate, which I appreciated. Nowadays the drive thru service at most of McD's are like flipping a coin; heads they might get your order right, if tails then there's no straw your drink or sauce or patty on your burger. I ordered a breakfast burrito combo with a coke. I specifically asked for a couple package of extra salsa sauces. Repeated myself a twice and the cashier confirmed. When I received my order, asked to confirm everything is in the bag and got a reply of "yes yes". Drive off the drive thru and on the way home, there wasn't a straw for my drink and no sauce at all for the burritos... wtf!! This stupid dotard moves happen so often I honestly want to call them up one of these days and they deliver whatever they are missing to me. The relaxing morning ambiance became almost a wrath of fire like whatever that show was? Game of Thrones? I honestly think for almost a decade now, McD's is sliding downhill pretty fast especially their customer service and customer care. What happened? I was in the area for an event on a weekend morning, had a spare hour and was looking for a quick snack. As I had some McDonalds coupons, I decided to make a quick stop at McD's to pick up an Egg McMuffin and coffee. I attempted to get into the drive thru but there were approx 20 vehicles in the queue and it was lined up to the street. I decided to park and walk into the restaurant to order. Two of the four kiosks were down and there was only one person taking orders. I waited 10 minutes to order my breakfast. And I waited another 18 minutes for my food order. Yep, 28 minutes to get an Egg McMuffin and a coffee. I noticed that the staff were making coffees and placing them on a counter. I counted 22 cups of coffee sitting on the counter. Apparently the staff make the coffee and wait to match it with the food orders. Not sure how this is an acceptable practice to have your coffee sitting on a counter for 15+ minutes while they attempt to make your food. Surprise...the coffee has cooled and somehow they also forgot to stir it. It was a very negative food experience and I would not recommend this McDonalds...ever. read more

Came through here last night around 1:30am and received the worst customer service I have ever experienced at Mcdonalds. We went through drive thru and let them know we had a 2-can-dine coupon and would like to get it with 2 Big Macs along with 2 Mcdoubles. Since they didn't ask us what drink we wanted, I let them know I would like it with iced tea. When we rolled up to pay they just gave us the machine to pay and didn't even bother to let us know the amount. So I asked how much everything came to and she let me know it came to around $19. The math checks out for 2-can-dine coupon and 2 mcdoubles so I paid. When we got our food we got 2 big macs, 2 mcdoubles and an iced tea. We let them know we asked for the 2-can-dine when we ordered and they said "you should have told us earlier. it's too late we cannot reverse it". We asked why they couldn't reverse the transaction and charge us for what we asked for. They said because we have already been charged and we already paid there is nothing they can do. They also informed us that if we wanted to speak to the manager we would have to wait 30-35 minutes because they were on break and would not be able to come out. What is the point of having a manager if they are not present to resolve issues like this? They continued to blame us for not informing them ahead of time that we wanted 2-can-dine. We are upset about this situation because they continued to blame us for getting the order wrong. But we let them know at the very beginning exactly what we wanted. They did not confirm our order with us and just stuck out the machine for us to pay. We don't care that there was an error in the order. It happens all the time. What we're upset about is these employees not taking responsibility and not even trying to resolve the problem. Instead they chose to blame us and hope to move on. We also did not receive a receipt for this order so we don't actually know what they charged us for. All we know is that we were order #313 on May 12th, 2021 around 1:30am. Yes, the bacon was completely raw and I did get an exchange for a new McMuffin. After eating the Filet O Fish, I got a cold the next day. I rarely get colds. My partner and I live in the area so any time that we have a night of drinking and get the inevitable itch to roam around and eat greasy food we head over here. Usually wait time to get your order is around 15-20 minutes.
