Mrs. K. insisted that I eat something this morning. I was apparently rather grumpy. McDonald's was convenient as it's just of the highway and easy. She was impressed by my order from the McDonald's app and it was ready when I walked in. Easy! My Egg McMuffin was assembled properly though the muffins could have used some more time in the toaster. The hash browns were actually crispy. And after 10 minutes, my coffee was cool enough to drink. Overall, a good experience this morning. One could say "just like any other McDs" and that would be correct if you mean that it's clean and welcoming because it emits that typical golden arches glow and the power of a smile. Once inside tho you'll find that humans are what makes this business great. The associate Jazmin noticed me standing around for a while with a deer-in-the-headlight stare after my first encounter with the new self-service kiosk. She kindly suggested that the order may not have gotten completed (without pointing fingers at this old human) and asked if I got charged. Guess what, folks? I didn't finish the check out process so I'd have stood there until the lights went out or the cows had come home if it hadn't been for that perceptive team member Jazmin who saved the day. This is the Cleanest McDonald's I've ever set foot in. Staff are polite and food is served fast & hot as expected. We ordered hot cakes and sausage & the sausage egg McMuffin meal, both were delicious for fast food. It appears to be newly remodeled & has decorated wall paper as well. They have have high and low booths as well as regular tables. The cushions are soft. Almost all of the tables have mini flower bouquets on them. There are also a few TVs in various areas. They have a toddler play area which my toddler loved, it was a perfect stop during our long road trip. The parking lot was well lit at 530 am which made it feel safe enough to rest your eyes for a few minutes. Right now they have the entire collection of Hello Kitty for the kid meals ! My toddler loved hers! If we travel this way again we will definitely stop here again. read more

Generally speaking, a McDonalds is a McDonald's is a a McDonald's. Of course there are a few exceptions, but this location is not one of them. The 3 stars are for the food and the sweet little lady who always works the morning shift at the first window ONLY. The morning shift knows what's going on. The evening shift, not so much. Minus 2 stars for the inconsistent hours and less than ambitious evening shift workers. NO ONE wants to go out at at 10:30pm to grab a quick bite after a long day to find their restaurant of choice-or convenience-which is supposed to close at 11(though still says midnight online)is freakin closed... but employees are still at their stations?Reasons are anything from Covid-related understaffing to building maintenance, and closing times could be anywhere in the 9-11pm window, 9-12 on the weekends. UPDATE YOUR HOURS ONLINE, MCDONALDS! You are one of the biggest fast food franchises on the planet. Get your shit together. Let me start with - I typically avoid fast food places, especially the likes of BK and McD's etc... I was in a pinch yesterday morning and needed to get some food in me so I could take some medication. The place was clean and the ambiance was warm. I noticed a sticker on the door stating "Free Wi-Fi" and looked around to see a small lounge area with a TV tuned to a national news broadcast. I ordered a light breakfast (if there is such a thing at McDonald's), got my food and sat down in the lounge area. There were outlets available for people to plug in there laptops, and the Wi-Fi connection was strong and fast for my iPhone. The food? Oh yes - standard fare for McDonalds Restaurants. Honestly I think this is the best service you can get anywhere in Butner/Creedmoor in my experience. They were PACKED but everyone was on the ball working and making sure everything was done right. Great customer service, great management, clean restaurant, and the food was on point. I have no complaints whatsoever. We stopped at this location for lunch on our way back home to Virginia Beach. When we got in, the place was busy. The overall look and feel is your typical McDonald's. The drive through was backed up and was starting to drizzle, so we went inside. They also have an outdoor playground area for the kids. We weren't able to do that with my niece since they had it closed due to the rain. It looks like this place gets a lot of traffic. While waiting for our food, we could hear some of the staff talking to a lot of the locals asking about their day, etc. One thing that surprised me was that there were a lot of correctional officers in there. I found out after some asking that there's a federal prison nearby. Anyways, the service was just okay. It seemed some of them were busier with their side conversations (as noted in the example above). The line also went pretty slowly. They have a larger menu of options than other McDonald's I would see at home. I think the larger amount of options means more indecisiveness and thus longer for some to make a decision and keep the line moving at a snail's pace. Once we got to the counter, the person there told us to wait. She went back to the back for a bit and then came back up. Once she came back, the ordering for us was very quick as we already knew what we were getting well before we got up to the counter. It took longer for the food to come out than it was for us waiting. One of the reasons why I only gave two stars instead of three is because there were some others (and were larger groups than the three of us here) who kept getting their food before us, even though we had ordered some time before them. It makes me wonder if they "prioritize" their orders coming out to locals first and then everyone else afterwards. As for the food, when we did get it, it did come out hot and fresh, which was a nice surprise given how busy the place was. The fact that the food came out the way it should, that helped me keep the rating at two stars rather than one star. In general, if you are driving through this area and want McDonald's, I'd try to wait and go to another one at a future exit. read more

Stopped by for breakfast at the Butner McDonald's on 10/09/22 @ 9:30 am and ordered 3 bacon, egg and cheese biscuits and 3 hash browns to take home for the family. All 3 bacon, egg and cheese biscuits had only 1 piece of bacon on them. Menu prices constantly going up and less food on the product. Way to gouge McDonald's. If you do this for every bacon, egg and cheese biscuit sold and stealing people's change when they pay with cash, you might make more profit. read more

I would say the food I receive from this location is very consistent. The location is what attracts me the most. It's located right off of I85 so there's easy access. read more

This McDonalds could clearly gain more stars but the inconsistent hours kills their chance. First the store is indeed clean and they have a great sanitation score that alone gives them a star. Next, for fast food they are what they are and their food is usually hot and somewhat fresh. That gives the other star. My problem is when hours are posted they should stick to the hours so opening late kills a star. Service is then diminished killing the other star. Finally, leaving with an empty stomach is the last straw. read more

Wow!!! This McDonald's had the best customer service and food was hot and yummy! Long 10 hour road trip and thankful we happened to stop here. Drive thru service was polite and helpful. My friend and I were on a long road trip and were hungry and had to use the bathroom. Even though we showed up ten minutes before close like huge jerks they sold us food and even insisted we stay and eat. They locked us in so no one else could come but let us out right away when we were done. I apologized for being inconvenient and the guy I presume was the manager was very gracious. Beyond that, place was clean, restrooms worked, food was quick and accurately prepared, and TV was tuned to news. Great experience for McDonald's. read more

This was worst McDonald's I have ever been too. I came to the drivethru lane and paid for my food then was told to pull up to the 2nd window. The sign above the windows show pickup window 1 and 2 so I pulled past window 1 and when to 2. Well I sat in front of the window for 20 minutes while everyone behind me got there food. I even had two car pull over to the side of me and someone came out with 3 bags of food. I started getting mad and call the manager and this girl was so rude that she said this window is not open, and nobody knew where I went. You can't tell me they didn't see me at the second window, and if someone had paid for the food that someone couldn't bring it outside like the other two people who walk around my truck to hand the other two people their food. I would never go back to this McDonalds again, not after the manager started accusing me for the problem. This goes out to the corporate office that if you have multiple windows you need a sign like the bank showing which windows are open, and pay closer attention to the window that if someone is stopped in the drivethru lane for more then 15 minutes then you need to go outside to see if they are having an issue, and stop blaming customers for your own mistakes, that this was no way called for. read more

Came in for coffee and to do a little work on the computer. Restaurant is clean and service is good. In most McDonalds there are groups that meet early morning for breakfast. Here, there are only about 6 patrons scattered around the dining area. There have been groups here but it's so COLD in here that they can't stay. While I was waiting for my coffee, I heard 2 people mention it to the staff. After I sat down there was a small group beside me. Finally, they said "It's too cold in here" and they left. The staff member who responded to the question as to why it was so cold was a little defensive, even tho the person asking was very nice. She just said there was nothing she could do about it, that the temperature is controlled in the office and it's locked. That's probably true, but in this day and time, HVAC systems are easily equipped with SMART technology that should adapt to changing weather conditions. This location is the poster child for what is wrong with the whole chain. They get more business that they can deal with because the menu is too big. They have no plan for a change over from breakfast to lunch. The drive through regularly backs up around the building, blocking the parking lot to the road. Their answer is to put someone outside to take orders before you can even see the menu. The problem isn't with the order taking, it is with the execution of the TOO BIG MENU! Bought some coffee and 2-apple pies. Coffee, good and hot. Apple pies, "I'm NOT loving it!" Over baked (obvious to the eye - too brown) - and, probably kept hot too long as well - dry-hollow inside - managed to find a couple edible mouthfuls. Shame, shame . . . these little pies, properly cooked are pretty good, and a decent fill-in breakfast or inexpensive desert. I'm taking valuable time to write this constructive critique because a franchise-owner/manager spends big money to own a McDonalds.
