I was surprised about the low rating overall but after reading the reviews I understand. It seemed everyone docked basically all the stars just because of the restroom situation. Which, in my opinion, is just fine. The bathroom has a number code. And there are plenty of signs saying the restrooms are for customers only. Having owned a small store myself, I completely understand this policy. Oftentimes unhoused or travelers would wander into my store, spend hours locked in the bathroom, and then leave it a complete disaster and go on their merry way. I can tell you: a number lock makes all the difference. It keeps the bathrooms clean and available for all the customers. My kids and I legit had to use the bathroom and we legit were at McDonald's for lunch so I was so happy to see a nice clean bathroom. I personally didn't have any trouble getting into the restroom without having to ask for a code. I just waited for someone to come out. While I was waiting even, one of the workers told me the code! The McDonald's itself was clean and organized! There were plenty of booths available for us on a Saturday afternoon and plenty of kiosks to self order. The food was ready super quick and everything was delicious! My girls were very happy with their Happy Meals and ice cream! I was hungry for something beyond a snack but not a full meal, and since McD's was in my path of travel, we decided to stop and go through the drive-thru since the seating area was closed. (BTW: Google Maps tried to tell me this McD's was closed, but I knew better.) Now this isn't just this McD's, but all of them. We're traveling. Did I have time to pull over and look up any special deals on the app? NO! That really makes me cranky. People who walked in behind me were served and one sweet elderly lady finally had to ask them to take her order. Which she also received before my order. I saw two employees plus one manager. They've really cleaned up this location from what it was like in the past. I was pleasantly surprised with how neat and clean the seating area is now set up. They encourage mobile order or kiosk order, and did a great job with getting my customized order correct. I used my app so was able to take advantage of great deals. The only thing I didn't eat was the fries and I didn't get sick, not sure if that the oil that could have cause it. We ordered cheeseburgers, fish sandwich, and fries. This is a hit and miss place. I've been here many times. A couple times they only had the drive through open due to short staff. Now they do have the facility open however everything has to be ordered through the kiosk so that can cause some lines if there is a lot of people. People tend to stop here as it is right next to the outlets and the Tesla superchargers. As a plus if you're eating there they do bring the food to you so you don't have to be standing around. Hehe We used the restrooms before going through drive thru, an employee opened the door for us and greeted us with a smile! Bathrooms were clean and I appreciate that so much having a toddler and all. Drive thru was very fast, quick and easy! I recommend using the McDonald's app to save a buck or two. At the last window there was a lady who greeted us with smiles and ensured our order was correct before handing it out. I appreciate that they gave us a good amount of napkins since usually when I go through other McDonald's it's only 1 napkin for 40 nuggets.. this time it was a nice amount. Otherwise the food was ok, lady was somewhat friendly, but made to enforce a restroom policy that may keep the non paying restaurant dwellers away, but ALSO drives away real customers that just have to use the bathroom, then order. I was traveling back from Ontario Airport after a long business trip heading to La Quinta. I stopped at the Cabazon McDonalds for a Quarter Pounder Meal, drove through, and got back on the Freeway. I bit into my burger and something was hard and I could not bite thru it. When I pulled off the freeway and looked, they had cooked my burger with the plastic sheet to separate frozen burgers still attached. Gross. Needless to say, never going back there. I walked to the McDonald's to use the restroom and was going to buy a Diet Coke. Of course they have a code on it because of the homeless. She asked me if I made a purchase and I said, "I'm going to use the rest room, wash my hands and then buy a large Diet Coke." Her response, "you have to buy first." I argue with them both for ten minutes and tell them how disgusting it is that I have to be punished because the local government cannot control the homeless problem. She apologized which I responded with, "not good enough. But the issues today: 1)they don't listen to you when you order because they are short staffed and are doing too many things at once. We sat here waiting for our food and was served at our table (I know I have low standards) but then the manager came and asked if we needed anything else, followed by another server asking if we wished for anything else.
