This review is about the service and not really about the food. We decided to have our daughter's 2nd birthday at this McDonalds. It all turned out perfectly. When we arrived the back area was setup nicely with balloons, tables, place-mats etc. We had a personal party planner (Jessica) who was there pretty much the whole time. She set everything up, took all the kids orders and cleaned everything up. The older kids loved the play area and the younger kids loved just being able to run around and play with the balloons. All the kids got a happy meal with their choice of burger, cheeseburger or chicken nuggets, they all got fries a drink and then either apples or yogurt. We also got 3 cakes (though we really only needed 1, we over estimated). The reason I deducted 1 star was for the confusion trying to get information on booking the party as both my wife and I called at separate times and each person we spoke to gave us different or wrong information. We eventually went in and talked to Jessica in person who was helpful. Also would be nice if the play area could be completely reserved as its still open to the public, so there were a bunch of bigger kids who were a little rough while the younger kids were there playing. read more

Poor service beyond poor attitude un- professional behavior from management. Contacted the owner and she quickly informed me that the manager had already contacted her. She was very uninterested at my calling. I ordered three cheeseburger with onions and ketchup only and Toast the bread more. Took three times at the order window . Pulled up paid pulled up bent the very young manager who had not experience in handling issues. Pain caked up my food got half way home NO BREAD un real. Stupid can't even describe that experience. As of 25 March 2019, this location is closed for construction/refurbishing. As of 30 March 2019, no posted notice from the location management so not sure when they will reopen. I don't know why I frequent McDonalds so often. It may be an addiction, a little sadistic maybe as I choke on each bite of meat and cheese followed with overly salted fries. I don't know and I may never know. Be that as it may, I utterly hate this location in particular despite my weekly to bi-weekly.. sometimes tri-weekly late night visits through their late night drive thru. GIVE ME MY STRAW!!!!!! Nothing I hate more than not getting what I ordered. Or complimentary eating/drinking utensils or sauces to go with. It completes the meal. This has only recently become an issue, lack of straw. I don't know if its the porn star look alike (I have several references to confirm this person does indeed match several aesthetic markings including hair/tattoo/ethnicity to validate this claim) or the ever changing staff of high school employees but I am tired of driving half a mile down the road home to discover I am once again without a straw. I have started to check my bag for a straw before leaving the window but sometimes I'm not driving and therefore left keeping myself entertained in the passenger seat not thinking I will be without a straw to enjoy my iceless coca cola or large wild berry smoothie (delicious btw). Also, I had ordered breakfast here for the first time in a dozen years and my chicken biscuit was most certainly raw in the center. I gagged after realizing I ate half of it and visually saw the cold pink center of my chicken slab. Other than those annoying minor issues, the drive thru is quick and open late. I agree with the other Yelpers on this McDonald's. It's McDonald's, so yeah, I'm not expecting the best of the best. But there's just been too many annoying little encounters that prevent this establishment from earning more stars. Vanessa W. is correct in that this McDonald's sometimes forget to include a straw for your beverage. In fact, I've started keeping straws at my home because of this. The courtesy of the employees is kind of "meh." Sometimes it will be a teenager wanting to play a practical joke on you, such as speaking in a fake accent, or telling you that there's no hot cakes left when there really are. Yes, I have a sense of humor, just not when I haven't eaten in 10 hours. One incident that really irked me was when my guest asked for a cup of water as I placed my order. The cashier barked at my friend that he needed to get in line -- how hard is it to grab a water cup? You cannot order milk-based products after a certain time (I think midnight). It's kind of a bummer, because sometimes you just get a late-night craving for a nice, tall, cold milkshake, or a McFlurry. Overall, I think this McDonald's has been able to get away with bad service because of its monopoly on the Centreville fast food market. Where else can you get a hamburger at 11p.m. without driving to Fairfax or Manassas? Hopefully, the new Wendy's off 28 will help bring some friendly competition. read more

Fast food is called fast food for a reason. This McDonald's service is slower than my grandmother running up the stairs. They greet you as if you owe them something, and always seems to have "computer issues" which means that they only accept cash. Make sure to always ask for the sauces after you get your food, because they always forget to give you the sauce when you ask for it through the intercom. read more

Not only are they more friendly now - they're even really polite! "My pleasure," "Have a great day" - standard responses yes, but not what you'd expect from a McDonalds. You no longer feel like you're dealing with a bunch of brats. The staff smiles at you, are not condescending and they talk to you - no more dealing with automated response robots. We realize we're just ordering low cost fast food, but having to order it through someone you know is screwing up your order or you can tell doesn't care about their products or service just gets old. This is the worst McDonalds I've ever been to. I don't expect McDonalds to be 5-start dining and I know I'm getting cheap fast food but sometimes cheap fast food is what I want so I go to McDonalds. I have never had a good experience at this location. The food has ALWAYS been stale with the exception of one cheeseburger, but the small shake I ordered with it was filled about 2/3 of the way up the cup. Are you serious? How can people not get such simple preprocessed food right? I've given them like 4 chances to get it right. Never again. The fries here are ALWAYS stale and if you decide to "dine in" its always some rude teenager who takes your order without even looking at you. Everyone else is right, the service is AWFUL. I would be happy to look past awful service if they got their easy MickeyD's food right... NOPE! It's always cold and old. Not to mention the ketchup dispensers inside are always broken and a 12 inch radius on ketchup is ALWAYS pooling on the counter. So nasty... I went to drive way to place an order this morning at 10:15am, asked window attendant to make sure I get "salt, pepper, 2 jellies, 4 butter" , I repeated 2 more times , picked up bag and went home, They forgot to put "2 jellies, salt & pepper & no hash brown" , This is not the first time and I should have checked before I drove away, But I repeated 3 times and they still forgot to give what I asked for, They should pay more attention, They were not busy at all and I was the only one at the window around 10:20 am. Have never had a problem with this location whatsoever. Have always received prompt service in the drive thru and inside, and the convenience of being open 24 hours is a major bonus. Even late at night, my orders have been correct and the poor employees working the night shift have been as friendly as possible. Compared to the McDonalds down the road on Stone, this blows it out of the water. If you are looking for a McDonalds with good service, good preparation of the food they offer, and availability (aka 24 hour drive thru), this is the spot for you. Would highly recommend above any other McDonalds in the area. read more

Wow. I can't believe how horrible the service is. The food is good in all but they forget everything all the time they forget the sweet and low they forget the fries they even forgot the quarter pounder. And the one millionth time I came here I knew that they were just going to forget something so I wrote a note on a slip of paper and I wrote everything in all caps. And so the fries were the biggest letters on there and it's the first one on the paper and they STILL forgot it. Unless you plan on being ripped off and getting half The food you ordered never set foot in this establishment. Why do the workers insist I tell them which beverage I want with my meal when all they are going to do is hand me a cup and expect me to walk to the fountain and fill it up myself? The only thing good about this place is the massive play area in a separate room for kids. A good place to let them run around on a cold or rainy day. The food at McDonalds has become actually flavorless to me. If I was blindfolded I don't think I could tell the chicken apart from the beef. This is a very busy MCDonalds, so expect to be waiting for your food for a long time. I have only used the drive thru therefore I'm only speaking on that. The line does move but almost every time I have to pull into a parking spot and wait for my food and it is never fresh. You would think the fries would be hot since you have to wait but no they are always dry. I have only gone recently to give them another shot but I am disappointed once again. Did a mobile order that gave me a free large fry with a purchase and when i got there they said my payment didnt go through and i had to pay there. So i did not a problem but they charged me full price for the fry on top of everything else I ordered. I didn't realize this till i got home. It has come to my attention that any time I visit this certain McDonald's they never accurately get my order correct. I has happened each and every time for the past 4 visits. It is the same order every time and even it even says my order on the receipt and when I get the order it is incorrect. I get that they want to rush people out but every time to get my order incorrectly it is not fast service when I have to drive back to explain why my order was incorrect. To echo another Yelper, this McDonald's has really gone downhill in the past year. Service is zero stars. The cashier takes my order and money and I'm left standing around for 5+ minutes for them to fill my order, and only to get it wrong! This has occurred with regular frequency on previous visits the past year. Total confusion at the counter. They don't have any control over the line queuing for the registers and people cut in front of others who have waited for many minutes. I don't know if this particular franchise has a hard time finding competent employees, but the situation is unbearably bad. So this location is extremely close to my house, which makes it my most convenient option for a quick dinner when I'm coming home from work or just randomly craving McDonalds. However, I am not a fan of the customer service here. Specifically, the last time I went through the drive thru there, I pulled up to the second window to get my food and the employee turned around and started to talk to some of her co-workers. I cleared my throat and she glanced back, noticing I was there, but continued to stand and talk with her co-workers a few feet away. A small bag sat by the window, and I thought to myself, "If that's my food just sitting there, I'm going to be very annoyed." Well, guess what -- it was. She stood talking for a few more minutes, then finally came sauntering back and handed me the small bag that was sitting there the whole time. I was completely flabbergasted by her rudeness, and said, "Thank you for finally giving me my food!" before driving off in a huff. I mean, she could've taken the 10 seconds to hand me my food and then went and talked with her co-workers, but instead she made me sit there and wait for no reason. My mom (Linda C.) has told me that the service there has really gone downhill in recent years, and I would agree. I haven't lived around here for a few years, and coming back now I was shocked by the lack of customer service, something that I don't remember from before. They recently remodeled. So the inside structure looks nice, considering it's a McDonald's. I ve been going to this McDonald's a good 8 months prior to the remodeling. The service was fair. 6 out of 10 drive through orders were messed up one way or another. 2 out of 10 times the food actually tasted good. Burgers were slapped on or dry, and the fries perfectly served. But ever since the remodel. The service, the time to even get your food after ordering, the lines due to two new pull up stations, and quality of food has gone from a 3 star location to 1. The lines are somewhat the same, maybe a smidge more, during peek hours. But from the moment you actually get to the station to order - to being handed your food, it has commonly taken an average of 15-19 MINUTES!!! The service from the staff inside and drive through are rude. I've only came across three decent people, which I don't know their names. Literally, I would rather not go to McDonald's than have to come here. My orders are messed up; I have missing items, they enter the wrong order, the food is slapped on and not fresh, even the fries taste nasty. They all seem bothered when you ask for things like sauces or drink carrier, etc I've waited 5 minutes saying Hello! at the window to order and the inside of the area looks messy even when it's new. I've even used their indoor kiosk and waiting 20 minutes for my food to come to the table. I went to area they have for pick up, and they ignored me, so I waited in line and asked the cashier person. My food was sitting at their pick up section. It was cold!!! They woman finally paid attention to me and was upset at the person who didn't take it to me and for having to remake my order. I truly hope they get trained better to handle possibly more traffic due to the remodel and /or two drive through ordering stations and indoor kiosk. read more

My husband gave up on this McDonalds a year ago when we noticed that the food and services were so-so. I'm a little more forgiving, because it is fast food, but today did it! I ordered a Big Mac combo without pickles through the drive through. The order on the screen was correct, but when I got home (which is right around the corner), the fries were only half full, stale, and cold. Then I opened the Big Mac. There was no pickles like I asked, but there was no sauce or cheese. Then one of the patties had a hole in it! I've never been so icked out, and this was during the prime lunch time. I threw it in the trash, because I was concerned about whether it was okay to eat. I definitely will never be going back. Good-bye neighborhood McDonalds. What a shame! An update to my previous post: after several occasions of being frustrated with the service at this McDonald's, I finally decided to let someone know. I went to the website and told them about the trouble I had been having. I received a canned email of apology. The next time I went back, things had gotten WORSE instead of better! So, I decided to let them know once more. This time, I got a phone call from their office. Spoke to a real live person! The apology seemed sincere, explanations (excuses? I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt) were provided, coupons were offered. And guess what? Things have actually picked up over there! Staff has been "re-trained" according to the person I spoke to, and I have to say I have seen an improvement. Fast food will never be elegant dining, but at least I'm getting all of the things I've ordered, with straws and napkins to boot! read more
