Cute cafe that is oftentimes very busy. Indoor and outdoor seating. When it's busy it can feel a little cramped and loud here. Sandwiches are very tasty but their drinks I think are better. The butterscotch latte is very popular and it's a drink I recommend.
I always come here when I visit my parent's house because they serve delicious and consistent coffee and food. They are always packed and there's a reason! Everything is reasonably priced and the service is quick. Usually I get coffee, but today we tried the food and it did not disappoint! I would come every time to get that chicken mushroom - Butterscotch latte: sweet (but not too sweet) and delicious! The size is very small tho (you only have one choice) 4.5/5 - Honey Cinnamon Latte: tastes like cereal, which wasn't my favorite but still good. 3.5/5 - CHICKEN MUSHROOM ON FOCACCIA: bacon, swiss cheese, mushroom, caramelized onion, ranch - THIS WAS MY FAVORITE. It was one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever had! So so delicious with the caramelized onions and the crunch of the bacon. 1000000/5 - CHIPOTLE CHICKEN ON FOCACCIA: swiss cheese, sun dried tomatoes, arugula, chipotle crema - delicious but the chicken mushroom had that extra flare, this one tasted healthier and more fresh. 4/5 - THE BURRATA ON CIABATTA: burrata cheese, tomato, arugula, basil pesto, fig spread, balsamic glaze, fresh pepper, olive oil - I'm a sucker for burrata, this had flavor and a great veggie option. 4.5/5
Came back here recently and dined in. You order at the front and they bring you the food and drink at your table. I got the breakfast burrito with sausage links and the butterscotch latte. Both were delicious! My burrito was filling and tasty, while the latte was sweet and creamy. The salsa that comes with the burrito is solid, just a pain to get on the burrito without getting your hands dirty. I was lucky and grabbed a seat to work from. It's a chill atmosphere, with tons of people doing schoolwork or working from home. There is plenty of parking too, just gotta hope you can grab a seat on the weekends.
Staff were very friendly and helpful! It was a bit busier and the seating area was full around 9am Sunday. The food was fresh and came out very quickly. I really enjoyed the burrata on ciabatta. The fig jam on the sandwich was delicious!
I am sad to update my review and lower it, but this Cafein location is not as good as it used to be... I've come a few times since they've expanded the space and the sheer volume of people just seems like something they are struggling to handle. We went recently and there were little available tables. When we found one, we realized someone had left their plates after leaving and it had not been cleaned. We bussed the table ourselves and then wiped it. After we sat, someone came around and asked if the table had been wiped (we told them we already handled it). I ordered avocado toast and added a poached egg. When the food came out, I realized there was no poached egg. I went up to the register to let them know so one could be thought out. They looked at my check and realized the cashier never added it. They then asked me to pay for it and they could send one out. I waited 20+ minutes while my toast got soggy for this egg... I really wished this had been handled better and put a bad taste in my mouth. Better customer service is an area of opportunity here.
Still the best cafe in town. Latte art is on point, coffee is strong not diluted. Awesome team members. Gathering place.
Best place for breakfast coffee tea and various other healthy drinks .Opens at 7:00 am . We came in at 8:00 am ordered Everything bagel with smoked salmon and tomatoes .It fresh and very filling . Tasty too. I ordered Whole grain bread topped with ricotta and eggs and salad on top . yummy .Lobed their coffe and cappuccino too .

The egg sandwich and the burrata sandwich were good, but nothing stood out to me. Definitely come here and don't expect to get seating, can get pretty packed. Inside is modern and clean next time I will try other things on the menu but butterscotch latte is one of my favs
Whenever their Belgium hot chocolate is in season I always get it. This is not packet hot chocolate it is fresh made to order melted Belgium chocolate. Only place in the area that does this. A shame it is seasonal, but the service and cleanliness sure isn't! Love this place.
This cafe is my tried and true. Cafein is probably my favorite cafe of all time in the DMV. The food is top tier gourmet level cuisine, despite it still being somewhat of a fast/casual dining spot. The only bone I have to pick with this place is the seating, although plentiful, proves not to be enough on holidays or weekends. Otherwise, their coffee is great, food is amazing, and vibes are always good.
I love cafein in soo much! Everything is made quickly and efficient. I always order their iced davant coffee or a vanilla lavender matcha and they are perfectly balanced in sweetness. You must try to grab some of their seasonal coffee cakes too, soft and a bit of crunch on the edges! In the photo is a burrata pesto sandwich with turkey bacon added to it and omg it was amazing. The place is very busy so I do advise if you're going to study or eat there get there early. Overall friendly service and delicious food, always recommend!

Cafein never disappoints. This is their second location i have tried. Tried the og in chantilly and now this one which is renovated to give it a bigger space where they have a community table and a good amount of seating; it's also called Cafein Kitchen now. I used to get their rose latte but that started getting a bit too rosey for me so i usually get the honey cinammon latte which is a classic. I do need to venture out and try other flavors. I got their egg sando for the first time today and loved it. Perfect brekkie/brunch sando and love that they give you option to customize it. Also got the blueberry coffee cake which was perfectly moist and delicious. Cafein is a favorite for a reason.

Updated annual review! Went yesterday during my lunch break from work and got my food and drink in about 5 minutes. I do wish they had an app or something to order ahead to make it easier for people on a time crunch. Surprisingly still very busy on a weekday for lunch. The hojicha is my favorite and I generally order a lox everything bagel since it's quick. But because of the limited amount of time, it isn't ideal for me to wait in line to order then wait more for food to come out. read more
I really like this place. It had been a while since my last visit, and the male staff member was incredibly friendly. Even though it had been a long time, his kindness made my day and put me in a great mood. I ordered the avocado toast and the butterscotch drink, and both were absolutely delicious. If you're in Centreville, I definitely recommend checking out this café! read more

I consider myself a coffee snob. I also love a good latte. CAFEIN has THE BEST butterscotch latte that I have ever tried. I crave it, almost daily, and treat myself, almost weekly. Their pastries are also very yummy, and their breakfast sandwiches are very enjoyable. The service is top notch. They are super helpful, patient, and kind, even though the coffee shop is often super busy. The Centreville location has ample sit down space and a really awesome vibe. read more
Tried Cafein for the first time and really enjoyed it! I got the cream coffee and the davant coffee--both were good, but different vibes. The cream coffee is basically a smooth cold brew topped with cold foam, super refreshing and not too sweet. The davant leans more on the sweeter side, really easy to sip if you like a dessert-style coffee. Cute spot for trying unique drinks! read more

Really nice café with solid food. I love a good lox bagel, and this one was pretty good! It came with pickled red onions--which isn't my personal preference--but I did appreciate the fresh dill. My fiancé said the pancakes were decent, and I also got a latte that was really good. Overall, a great spot to grab a quick bite and a nice latte. read more
This location is BUSY! The shopping center itself is very crowded and the light keeps the traffic stopped bc most people leave that way and block the incoming traffic. Big tip: if you exit behind Trader Joe's, it brings you to a right turn next to Lifetime fitness and you can hop onto 66 W easily. There's indoor and outdoor seating, which is very nice since it's always so crowded at this location. The cashier is so friendly and remembers his customers and makes nice kind talk with everyone. He truly makes you feel welcomed. They also call out your drinks but if you cannot hear them, they bring it to your seat! I got the green tea latte which is already a bit sweet and it has the best matcha taste! My friend got the Davante, which tasted like coffee ice cream and it wasn't too sweet and just as strong! Overall, customer service, drinks amazing! Location is a bit chaotic, which was why I gave it a 4/5 stars. I still prefer the MetroTech location. read more
I've tried cafein for a long time now. This location is pretty far from me, but I try to stop by and get it whenever I am in centreville. Today was my first time that I got to try their breakfast items in house. I tried their breakfast burrito and the smoked salmon. I think both items were fairly valued. It's certainly not a great Salmon lox, but it was good enough. The burrito was mediocre. What really shines are their drinks here. The butterscotch latte and cream coffee are nice changes to your everyday coffee drinks. You order first and they give you a stand with a number on it and the staff will bring out your food and drinks. The service is pretty fast. Inside, there are good amount of seating for individuals and small groups. It gets packed on weekends so come early. They open at 8 am on Saturday. read more
This is the cutest Korean style cafe, I love the overall aesthetic vibes of this place. The service was 10/10, they were so nice and helpful since it was my first time there. I went on a Sunday, it was busy but plenty of seats were still available. The coffee was amazing and creamy. What I ordered: I got the honey cinnamon latte which was honestly so good. Not too sweet, and was quite smooth and creamy. My partner got their drip coffee. Then I got their pancakes which was paired with whipped brown sugar butter, cracked caramel, caramelized banana, and mixed berries. It was quite delicious and portions were huge, which I loved!!! Also, tried their Banana flambé French toast. It was pretty tasty but a little too sweet for me. read more
Beautiful modern, contemporary cafe with good, quick service. Outdoor seating is an option as well. The sandwiches tasted great and were well-presented. The butterscotch latte was flavorful but not too sweet, allowing you to really taste the coffee (roasted in-house). Overall great experience, wish we had something like this in southern DE. read more

Hands down on the best Espresso Cafe in Centreville and Clifton! It's Espresso made by the book and served with elegance, love, and generosity with the sparking water served with ! I love Cafein already, but after the renovation and expansion, it's really much more beautiful and reliable! Before it was small and dark but now it's a very beautiful place with enough seating and nice outdoor tables covered with 2 huge umbrellas ! I couldn't try the food because of my dietary restrictions, but I also didn't see anything that triggered my cravings! The staff was very nice and friendly, the store is clean and beautiful with a sleek design and modern ambiance! I haven't been back here since they renovated but wow the expansion is very nice. There is a ton of seating and the ambiance is so soothing inside. We got the cappuccino, iced latte, and salmon bagel sandwich. Cappuccino: very strong and boldly flavored Iced latte: great! Also very strong Salmon bagel: yummy. Satisfied with what I had The croissants looks SOOOO good in the display at the register. I will be back to try one :) I stopped by on a Sunday morning and recommend coming early (before 9am) to avoid the morning crowd. It was already decently busy when I arrived but still a good amount of seats left. By 9:30 the place was packed! read more
I don't think anyone can go wrong with Cafein. I have been a fan of theirs for at least 7-8 years now. Their location in Chantilly used to be my go-to, but now that they have the kitchen in Centreville, I find myself frequenting this location more often. Please note that the menus at the two locations are different. I have tried several of their breakfast items and pastries, and I always leave satisfied. My go-to latte is the rose latte - absolutely yum! Keep in mind though that they get very busy in the mornings, especially on weekends. What separates Cafein from a lot of other coffee shops is their staff. No matter how busy they get, they are always friendly and polite. For that reason alone, I will happily keep going back. read more
Cafein in Chantilly is probably my favorite go-to cafe in NOVA... their sausage croissant sandwich is incredible... with the chili paste and sweet jam... amazing! The croissants here are spectacular... make sure you get it warmed up. The honey bee sandwich is also amazing! The problem with Centreville was how small it was. There was just no place to sit and so picking up coffee was basically the only option. They took over the lease next door and remodeled. The space is sooo beautiful and open! There are large windows to let sunlight in and the 분위기 is amazing now! Come check it out if you haven't been here in awhile... read more

Ordered: Iced caramel latte (my go-to) and Peach Lemonade. Breakfast Burrito and Avocado Toast. Went on a weekday for a light lunch and it was PACKED. Me and my friend had to wait to get snag a seat, but food came out so fast so it was worth the small hassle. Burrito was great! It was my first time trying and the sauce made it so much better. Avocado toast was also decent, I think for the price it's not bad. The latte did not disappoint. I always like it when they make it less milky and more espresso-y. Peach Lemonade is also a classic. Always consistent and refreshing on a nice sunny day. I wish this place was located somewhere more convenient! The traffic is always so bad as it is right in front of a highway entrance. However, I always make the trip here regardless. read more

Love this place! The butterscotch latte is my favorite drink on the menu, but all their coffees are great. It's on the sweeter side btw. Today was the first time I tried any of their food items and I got the egg sandwich with turkey bacon. It was so delicious. The bun and eggs were soft and fluffy. The turkey bacon and caramelized onions added layers of sweet and savory to the sandwich. Twas a hefty breakfast sandwich, but the side of pickles cut through the heaviness of the sandwich. It's pretty lively all the time, but it's quiet enough to study/work outside if it's a nice day! read more

Food: 10/10, especially presentation! Coffee: 10/10 (Butterscotch Latte has been my top fav so far, the foam/whip is phenomenal). Customer service: 11/10 The employees here, in my experience, have been kind and attentive. Vibes: Beautiful interior and I've been enjoying my studies here for hours. Overall, this shop has quickly become one of my favorite coffee spots. Highly recommend! read more
