This was one of the worst McDonald's experiences I've had, even with the low expectations I have for service plaza fast food restaurants. There are no ordering kiosks, and 4 out of 5 app orders we attempted were cancelled after making them, so goodbye to any discounts or deals or earning points on your order. The app says they have the buy one, get the second for $1 deal, but it didn't properly register the discount (order was cancelled anyway), and the person at the register confirmed they don't have that. At least the person working there was nice, because that was the only positive of the entire ordering experience. The food we eventually got was fine, but the usual service plaza pricing, the lines since there's no other way to get food, and the frustrating, terrible ordering experience sucked. Not a bad location all things considered. Went there during breakfast, so there wasn't much of a crowd. Took some time to get food - which these days I don't normally expect fast service. Staff was busy on their phones, so don't expect much in customer service. Always watch the parking lot and if it's busy, move along to the next service area. read more

Not to be confused with MackDonald's, which is owned by Christy Mack (swoon) and the place where are the servers are covered in tats and have the sides of their heads shaved. The Massachusetts Turnpike is expensive and can be really annoying, like Barbie then on both counts. Gas prices at the rest plazas are sky-high and so are the food prices. You won't find regular McDonald's prices at this little rest stop in Charlton. Indeed, you will find costs are jacked up and the service is usually bad because it doesn't have to be good because they're going to sell a lot of stuff anyway. Food quality isn't great but it never really is at McDonald's these days - still if you're looking for piping hot McDonald's food this rest stop probably won't provide it. read more

WORST LOCATION EVER. First off, We ordered food through the drive thru and went to get our food, nobody is there at the window, we waited 10 minutes with people behind us aswell, still nobody is there. We went inside to order, The person working at the counter is barely even taking orders and is just messing around putting a unnecessary amount of stickers on a online order bag. Parking lot is completely disgusting. Used condoms, old food, and lots of trash. The employees are rude and incompetent, at best. The wait for a single iced coffee in the drive thru was in excess of 20 minutes, and they messed up my order. I will never go here again, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I honestly don't get why people hate this place. The customer service is ok the cashier that I was with was patient with trying to get a barcode deal to work and didn't get mad. The food did take a bit but not that long. The food was hot, and the cashier gave us a refund after we put something extra, and didn't get mad. And her attitude was normal, she wasn't getting mad. Yeah, this one's pretty bad, even by McDonald's standards. Convenient in the sense that it's located at a service plaza off the Mass Pike (no need to get on/off and pay tolls). Also has a drive-thru, which is great for when you don't want to get out of the car and deal with the crowds. I believe it's 24 hours. The compliments stop there. There was a substantial wait to order (even though no cars ordering at the time). There was a wait to receive the food (even though there were no cars waiting in front of me). And this was on a random Wednesday night! Imagine on a busy weekend night! Double cheeseburger, fries, and drink were A-OK. Service needs help! read more

Mmm yea... the service was poor. They got an order before mine wrong, and the lady had to wait ten minutes for them to get her order right - it was only one sandwich... I ordered a cheesecake from their McCafe and asked how long it had been sitting out. The server just shrugged - literally shrugged, and his shirt was half tucked in and half out. I know being a McD's server isn't the highest of vocational callings, but if you're gonna work, work with some pride, right? I also ordered a McFlurry and a Bacon McDouble - both was pretty bad and overpriced. Verdict: Don't eat here. The service is poor, and the food is overrated. The coffee is fabulous, and the muffins are soft and fresh. Massachusetts kills you on the food tax 7%.

Employees need to be focused on doing the job they are been paid to do, and not screwing around in the back and giggling, while they have 20 customers in line waiting to be served, if they don't want to work they don't need to be there, not to mention they need better listening skills on drink orders, very poor customer service, I can't imagine that their boss let's them act like this. read more

I was going into this review extremely offended because of how terribly we were treated by the young female employees here, but after reading the other reviews, I feel a bit more understood. We were driving eastbound to Boston and went in for a quick coffee stop. We were grateful that McDonald's was open, they're reliable that way, but when the employee went to hand us our coffee, she basically threw it at us and stepped away as quickly as she could. We just looked at her in surprise and asked if there was something wrong. She just sneered and said "goodbye" in this condescending tone. We had no idea what we did wrong, so we just asked "Did something happen?" She just gave us another look and yelled "GOODBYE." We looked at the second employee standing off in the back to see if she could help clarify this situation for us but she was just standing there giggling. We had our pride too, so we just called them mean and walked away, but they were cursing after us, calling us a-holes. It was the absolute worst service I have ever experienced. I feel I have to mention that we are Asian (amid this Coronavirus situation). We tried to get a look at their name tags, but they were both conveniently covering them up so we didn't get their names. All I know is that they were working on Wednesday April 8, 2020 at 10am at the eastbound McDonald's on the Pike near Charlton. I agree with other reviewers that these ladies were extremely ignorant and needed some additional education on customer service.......or a new job. read more

Stopped by tonight around 9pm. The girls at the registers were on their phones, guess they're more important than customers...: Ordered just a quarter pounder, and I had to wait, and wait. I checked my order time from the sales slip and after 14 minutes I finally asked for a refund... by the time the kid went out back to ask how to do that my burger came. Horrible. Don't eat here unless you enjoy wasting your money. My usual McDonald's breakfast, a Sausage Biscuit a and a coffee, costs $2 anywhere else in the US. Here it was $5.55. When I asked why, they said they jack up the prices because they are on the highway. And my sausage was dry, overbooked (or it had been sitting out for awhile). I purchased from the drive thru window at this location around 6:30 AM on November 1, 2014 with a friend of mine on our way to Rhode Island. Our order seemed correct from their side. However, once we left and continued on the turnpike we discovered the order was wrong. It was supposed to be a #1 without cheese medium coffee and a #2 with a medium (maybe large) coffee (for my friend). The total was $12.89 and I paid $20.04 so that I would not get any pennies back. I received $7.65 in change and that was the first sign something was wrong since I should have received $7.15. I know it was $0.65 because that was the exact amount we had to pay when exiting the toll gate on the other end. Well we received two #2 orders. On top of that they never gave us a receipt (paid cash) and one was NOT taped on the bag which made it virtually impossible for me to make a complaint to corporate which I'm doing right after writing this. read more
