Hard Cider purchased at liquor store

Had some local BBQ while in Sturbridge MA. The meats tasted smoky just like you want it. The brisket was more fatty than I like but that is why it tasted so good. The sides were all a bit too vinegar flavored for our liking. Enjoyed the house BBQ sauce mixed with the sweet BBQ sauce. Food came out pretty quick and we had a nice booth to eat inside. They are BYOB so we brought some Hard Cider at the liquor store near by which paired perfectly. Definitely worth a stop.

Second time I've been there in Sturbridge and the food is amazing for barbecue the real deal. Honestly, my favorite was the beef brisket. I could've just eaten a bucket of those alone...the way they make it is just perfect and tender. My favorite side was collard greens delicious delicious delicious. I would just come back here for those two things and be a happy camper for life.

This place was absolutely buzzing when I got in around 2:30 on a Saturday. Their regular lot was full and the overflow behind was almost completely full as well. Cute little place for sure. The line moved fast and the person at the cash register was very nice and personable despite how insanely busy they were. I ordered the single meat platter - brisket, mac n cheese, fries, and cornbread with an extra cornbread and an RC fountain drink. It was about $28 all together with a tip which isn't bad by any means and you get a decent amount of food. I asked what they use for wood and they said cherry and hickory which sounded interesting as a combo. I'm not thoroughly against cherry, but it threw me off since everyone and their mama was saying this was southern bbq. Back home, we use a lot of oak and pecan as well so it surprised me, but nothing too crazy. Cornbread was good. The Mac n cheese wasn't my favorite, but still good. I'm not as much of a white cheese girl on my Mac unless you add some Gouda but it was still solid. Fries were really yummy, but I do wish they had regular ketchup. They had a house ketchup, but it doesn't go with the fries. Those things deserve a nice salt sprinkle and a trip the Heinzville because they would earnestly slap like a mf. Now, to the big show - the brisket. It was good. It was very tender, came out piping hot, and the fat was rendered pretty well. I was hoping for a more prominent smoke ring and a Smokey flavor. It's weird because you can see them in the damn smoker, but you could have told me you had it in an oven and I wouldn't have believed you a bit. I really wanted more from this brisket. This place is good. Not amazing, not great but good. The people are really nice, but I wouldn't drive an hour again for this place. A few people say this was hitting top 5 in Massachusetts for bbq and I worry about the other 4 and also peoples tastebuds. Don't get me wrong, it's good. If I were in the area? Sure, but it's not do a little dance while eating good.

Lunch visit, first in over a year. Friendly over/the-counter ordering and they call your name when it's ready. Seating at tables, a few booths, and a few stools. Food emerging from the kitchen looked good. -- Spare Ribs (on a 3-meat combo): Outstanding in every aspect, including size, crust, rub, color, freshness, juiciness, smokiness, tenderness, and all around flavor. Among the best I've had. Elite. -- Spare Ribs (1/4 rack): Cut from the short end and barely lukewarm, these had less moisture and less pop than the first round. Above average. -- Brisket: Somewhat crusty, somewhat moist, somewhat tender, but rigid too, with some dry spots and some blobs of fat. The bark had great flavor, and not too salty (which can sometimes happen here), but too many minor flaws to be considered elite. Above average. -- Pulled Pork: Tender, gray, slightly moist and lightly smoky but light on flavor overall. Around average. -- Fried Chicken Thigh: Very crunchy, tender, and very tasty, with salt noticeable but not overdone. Solid. Only lukewarm though, as if it were the first item put on the tray and the rest took a while. A hot piece might've been elite. -- Wings: Good size, minor smoke, with lightly crisp skin and interiors moist but not juicy. Good flavor in the barbecue sauce. Above average. -- Sides: Fries and coleslaw both very tasty. The crisp, vinegary coleslaw was very good and a great complement to the meats. The fries had a similar lukewarm outcome as the chicken, only more certain: we watched them sit a while on the tray waiting for the rest of the order to join them. Good barbecue that could/should have been great, with that one rib batch for the ages but the rest of the meats somewhere between pretty good and good.

Food is very good and it's close to Texas bbq but it has some inconsistency which you don't want to find on brisket. It's not fair to compare that way because they have things on their menu that I'm not used to & some are very good like the chicken but I'm leaving these reviews for die hards or my transplants who want to try authentic bbq.

OMG!! Incredible is an understatement. I don't know much about bbq, but I do know this is the BEST place to get it in MA, if not all of New England! I live about an hour away and it was absolutely worth the drive! Since this is a BYOB joint, my husband and I went to the Treehouse Brewery down the street and picked up some drinks to have with our lunch. We shared a "three meat" platter (brisket, pulled pork & smoked chicken) with coleslaw and mac & cheese. The meats are so tender that you don't even need teeth to eat them. The flavor of the meat was amazing on its own, but there are multiple sauces at every table that you can add to elevate it even more! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the smoked chicken as I wasn't expecting it to be as delicious as it was for "just chicken." And the mac & cheese!! It was so creamy and dreamy, I wanted to eat a whole bucket of it! The coleslaw had its own unique (mild) flavor that I never tasted before, but it was good/refreshing. Next time I will definitely be getting more mac & cheese. Everyone should try this place at least once, I highly doubt you will be disappointed! :)

It is off the turnpike on the way to bc. It is well worth the diversion to reach it. There is plenty of parking which is key. It is one of the best bbq restaurants I have been to. They have their own smokers. It has to say it in the name or you don't know what you are going to get. There was a half hour wait. I suppose that is expected on at rush hour. They have 6 different types of home-made barbecue sauces. My favorite was meat heat. I had the brisket ruben. It was triple layers with at least a pound of brisket, cheese, Cole slaw and sauce. I added some picked jalapeño to make it hot. It was so large, I took half home for tomorrow dinner. I would return.

Everything was tasty and filling. Was lucky to find seating on a busy Saturday afternoon. They're ok with you bringing your own beverages.

Top 10 in New England is what we heard... but I'm not so sure about that. Pretty disappointed by the quality we experienced today. Ribs weren't even close to falling off the bone and were overdone and tough. Nothing was melt in your mouth or juicy. Brisket didn't have a good flavor, and the mac and cheese was just weird. The chicken drumsticks were the best thing on the platter. Taking home and hoping we can repurpose it into something better so it isn't a total waste.

Stopped by after the Brimfield flea and so glad I did! The inside was super cool with some seats but more outside if the weather is nice. I went with the two meat platter: ribs and brisket and bbq black beans and mac and cheese as my fixings. The portions were huge and the food was so flavorful. It was my first time trying the bbq black beans and I would order them again. Overall the food was good and at a great price point. Heads up, they announce how long the wait is for food depending on how busy it gets. It's also BYOB

Finger-licking good--literally. The brisket and pulled pork were unreal, and the collard greens and mac & cheese were straight comfort food perfection. The brisket was my absolute favorite--so tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. When we arrived, the place was full, which honestly had me betting big that the food would live up to the hype--and it absolutely did. Even the other customers were friendly, and the staff was just as welcoming. My fiancé and I shared the two-meat platter, and thank goodness we did--it was more than enough food. We were stuffed and still had leftovers (which I'm very much looking forward to eating again). If we ever pass through this way again, I'll definitely be making him stop here. Can't wait to come back!

BT's Smokehouse in Sturbridge absolutely lives up to the hype. We got the two meat platter and it was incredible -- the brisket was insanely tender with that perfect smoky bark, and the pulled pork was juicy, flavorful, and clearly done the right way (not dry at all). You can tell they really know what they're doing with the smoke and seasoning because every bite hit. The portions were generous, the sauces were on point without overpowering the meat, and everything just tasted fresh and cared about. Service was friendly and quick even with other people in there, and the vibe is casual and welcoming -- the kind of spot you're already planning your next visit to before you leave. If you're anywhere near Sturbridge, BT's is a must. We'll 100% be back.

I was in the area for work and just about everyone told me I had to stop by B.T.'s! It was located just off a busy road, so it was pretty convenient. The outside looked a bit like a house, but the inside transported me right back to a Kansas City BBQ joint. That being said, was the BBQ up Kansas City or Texas standards? Not quite, but it was still very solid. The sauces certainly didn't hurt either. I actually really enjoyed the sides, including the carrot slaw, which was pretty unique. I'd come back to try the ribs and deli options!

I first visited these guys when they were operating out of a small barn, and seeing the evolution to this 53,000 sq ft, $18.5M facility is seriously impressive. They follow a "direct-to-consumer" model -- selling everything right out the front door -- and they've mastered it. I've been here many times over the years and go whenever I have the opportunity, which says everything. Tried some of their standout beers -- King Julius is the gold standard, consistently ranked among the best beers in the world. Their flagship Julius is just as impressive, with massive notes of mango and peach -- incredibly well balanced and executed. There are usually food trucks on site, which adds to the experience -- you can enjoy a fresh pour while picking up your take-home haul. Fun fact: On BeerAdvocate's all-time Top 250 list, Tree House often has 30+ beers featured, something almost no other brewery can match. Overall, some of the best beers anywhere -- truly unparalleled and absolutely worth the visit. Saluti.

Speaking of parking, there are plenty of spots in the parking lot where the restaurant is located. Annie's is a family-owned breakfast and lunch spot, opening at 7am and closing at 12 or 1 every day. You'll find just about any breakfast or lunch comfort food here, so even the pickiest eater in your party will find plenty of options. Their menu has a few interesting choices, like three different "Egg White Mixers" that combines vegetables or baked ham with scrambled egg whites and toast. We also were impressed with the Family Style Meals for four or six. We stopped for breakfast on Saturday and were seated right away by Paige. She was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. My wife's breakfast order was a 4-egg Cheese Omelet ($9.50) served with Annie's Home Fries and choice of toast. I went for one of those Egg White Mixers ($8.25) and chose the Veggie with onions, peppers, and tomatoes, It was also served with Annie's Home Fries and choice of toast. I couldn't resist when I saw the magic words "Corned Beef Hash" on their menu, so I also asked for a side of their Fresh Homemade Corned Beef Hash ($7.25). My breakfast was fantastic, and that corned beef hash was loaded with lean shredded corned beef. Two Negatives 1) Have you ever been charged extra for hot sauce? Well, sadly Annie's charges $1 for those tiny plastic containers of hot sauce. 2) Coffee is a pretty important breakfast component, right? When I spend $4 for a coffee, I expect the coffee to be very good. Truth be told, Annie's coffee was terrible; it was incredibly weak and flavorless.
