Ordered out, I asked for a 10 piece, honey, Big Mac and medium fries what I got was stone cold food an 8 piece and no sauce.

Today I was treated abhorrently at this restaurant. Upon arriving w/my 2yo, I ordered a Happy Meal and Big Mac meal. I was given his meal without chicken nuggets. I had to bring it to their attention. I then opened my meal to find my Big Mac bread was hard and cold, as were the fries. Again had to go up to the counter. It took 15min from initial food order to when I received my food because they forgot about us. My child didn't eat his lunch so I packed it away and we went to play at the Play Place. After about 20min of play, the manager stated I couldn't have food in there. I replied it said no eating and we weren't eating. My things were on a ledge away from the children's reach. She said I couldn't be in there with it. I don't throw away food so I asked her if there was a designated place where I could leave it while my child played. The Manager said no. I left with my child and then spoke to a supervisor. She said those were the rules: no food or drink. I said there were mothers feeding their kids bottles and why was that okay but a sippy cup with a tiny bit of milk was not. She said: we are working on that. What does that even mean??? I was unfairly targeted and humiliated in front of other families. My child was upset that we had to leave. This was a horrible, horrible experience and I am absolutely appalled that we were treated in this manner. read more

I visited this location on 8/15 and 8/21. I ordered the same thing both times. On 8/21 visit I told the drive thru cashier that I was disappointed last time (first visit to this location and my first in Chicago) because the large fries that came with my #1 large meal was miniscule and didn't fill 1/2 the container. She assured me she would make sure this one was correct. Didn't happen. 8/21 I received the same serving as the first time. The fries barely came over the curved front of the container. Very disappointed in the serving size based on all advertising and my past experiences with McD on the west coast where I previously resided. I certainly don't mind paying for a large as long as I receive what I paid for. The serving size needs to be addressed at this location. I cannot say anything about another location except Grayslake, IL, where the serving size of fries was appropriate. I sent this to McD corporate and their response was SORRY and they would contact the local rep and the franchisee and they hope I'll try McD again. I never was contacted by anyone from the franchisee. So, in other words, tough luck, try again. No concern whatsoever and no compensation for poor cust service. I see a lot of bad reviews on this place, but I haven't had the wait problems like these other folks have had. Everytime it's been pretty quick getting thru the drive thru. Food is always hot when I get it, and the sweet tea is still one of my favorites even coming from when I lived in the south where sweat tea ruled everywhere. This McDonald's over charges on few items. I know every franchise owner seem to agree with certain prices but this one is little more. For example coffee is $1.10 every other mcdonalds but here it's about $1.50. Same for food as well. It's not even located in downtown and they're over charging. read more

Here is the truth, McDonalds should not be on yelp. A corporate monster like this should be able to give out the same quality food and service across the board. However, this store seems to lack what others shine in. The service is slow, the workers are rude. When ordering it's always important to make sure they get it all right and repeat it back, because many a time, I have ended up with the wrong soda, or even being over charged for an item they thought I needed. The new mighty wings are delicious, and the daily double is a solid score. But at this establishment, do not think you are getting what you have at other sister stores. Fries are cold, the chicken wings are mediocre and the daily double are made sloppily and I found hairs in them. I've seen waiting with Ryan Reynolds, so it makes me gag when I see hairs. Be careful and beware america, this McDonalds is not consistent and won't give you the quality you expect. read more

This has to be one of the best run McD's in the world. I encourage the Oak Brook executives to drop in any time and see a restaurant that does everything right. The place is always super clean, the staff is very friendly and professional, and the food/drinks are obviously made to exact standards -- so they are delicious! Ghetto. Some hunnie jumped from the end of one line to the front of another when they opened another register. When I called her on it, she just kept talking over me, continuing to order her 3 cookies. Others who she also jumped in front of grumbled too about her time being more important than others. When it was my turn to order I told the McD's guy, 'You know, you were the only one who could have done anything about that.' Late night they have the slowest drive through on in the city. I have had to drive off multiple times, because of their inability to move customers. The store is newly remodeled, but they need to remodel some of their staff. It's a shame since this location is very convenient and we do go here frequently for ice cream or a quick drink. read more

Love, love the redesign! It is very organic looking and very zen feeling! My kids really like the play area, although they miss the large slide and climbing gym, it was definitely a big hit with my 2 yr. old! My 7 yr. old was entertained with the interactive computer game and my 4 yr . old was just enjoying both worlds! read more

Went to McDonald's because I hadn't eaten all day and was going to treat myself to a big Mac. So I drive out of my way in bad traffic to get my big Mac. Place the order, wait in the drive thru line and everything was fine. I get my food and it takes me 30 minutes to drive home less than 2 miles because of cub's game traffic. I get home, open the bag and there's no big Mac but a 4 pc chicken mcnuggets. I was so angry. I went out of my way, took all that time, paid for a big mac and I get chicken mcnuggets. Called store, left msg and no one ever calls me back. Did mcdvoice survey, still nothing. what a waste of time and money. I will definitely never go back to that McDonald's and if i'm starving i will go out of my way to find a burger king even if mcd is across the street. Terrible customer service. Once again, another fast food outlet in Lincoln Park fails to meet my expectations. Sure the menu is great and the prices are good, but I get nowhere when they reject my credit and debit forms of payment consistently. Interestingly enough, they seem to tell me this after I order my food and almost always when my bill is just over $3. Something funny is going on. I don't care if my bill is $0.01, because here in America at McDonald's, credit and debit are always accepted. I don't care if their network is down, they need to have a protocol in place to manually record credit transactions OR be accommodating and just give my my $3 breakfast for the inconvenience. I have emailed corporate at least four times about these incidences, yet nothing seems to change. If the citizens and visitors of the City of Chicago are able to charge $0.25 on their credit/debit cards for parking, we surely should have the right to eat at McDonald's with our cards whenever we want (ESPECIALLY when McDonald's displays all of the credit/debit card logos they accept on the door before you walk into the establishment). Once again, the employees don't value the business of the customer and don't realize that their very jobs depend on it. For this reason, McDonald's at 2834 N Ashland gets one star. read more

It's true the service is not the fastest and not always super friendly. However they are not rude and they do try to make up for slower than the average McDonald's service. I usually end up with some free food. At least I always get the correct order. Also the kids play area is sufficient and my daughter has never been disappointed. read more

Just went through the drive thru, it's 10am on a Thursday morning. Not only could I not hear the speaker because of how low it was, as I tried to mention it to the girl at the window, she rudely interrupted me to bark my order at me. This is the best fast food restaurant that I have gone to. It is more pricy than other but the service is amazing. The people in the kitchen work really fast, the managers are friendly (Jose R. was very polite and cheered me up on my bummy day, he also mad sure that the staff was working efficiently. My cashier was amazing she was so funny and worked fast, she had such a huge impact in my day that i remembered her name, Ana. I got my french fries fresh and my fudge sunday was delicious. I went in there for some fast food on a bad day but the staff turned my day around. This particular location really is poor. Truthfully, without a microwave oven they wouldn't exist. We were actually excited when they closed awhile back to renovate. The renovations did nothing positive and made the place much more family unfriendly. But what makes it really family unfriendly (besides all the unfriendly employees themselves) is the single ordering line while 8 or 9 people stand and second guess themselves while waiting for their cold, stale slop. Waiting would be ok if there isn't 3 other kids standing behind the counter staring back at you. Bottom line- everything here is a mess, it's a filthy place and the employees just simply don't care. I know its not every person's dream to work in a fast food restaurant but lots of people do it and they do so like pros. Just teach your children early in life that McNuggets and Happy Meals are actually the devil's food and that all the cool people today actually eat organic roots and berries.
