This can be a busy location. My recommendation is breakfast. Here it's good to "power up." There are lots of shopping centers close by. The coffee is always served hot. Am grateful that their brew, is better and cheaper than most. These days of inflation are no joke. Very friendly staff here. The employees do work hard, and also run a tight ship. Also kudos on a clean location. Do be careful parking. That is best advice I can give you. This works for a quick bite. read more

Employee that served me at the serving drive through window at 7:30PM 5/17/2026 was incredibly unprofessional. I heard him yelling "what the f*** is it now?" and he began yelling at me asking me "what did you f*** order?" while banging his hand on the drive through window. We continued to curse at me and other employees while demanding I give the food back saying "it wasn't mine". I will be filing a complaint with corporate to ensure they are terminated. This is quite literally the worst McDonald's in the country. They will never ever put your sauce in the bag. Ever.

For starters, got to the drive thru order area and after nearly 2 minutes, no one took my order. So, simply got in line. When I got to the window, had to wait for the folks there to find someone that could speak English. Next placed my order for 2 sausage McMuffins and a senior coffee. The gal taking my order asked me for nearly 12 bucks. I said, isn't the deal, buy one and get one for an extra $1? Whoever the lady was working the second window on 5/5/2024 around 6:00-6:10, was very rude and presenting as if she we were inconveniencing her. We saw she handed someone our drink, but they gave it back to her. We asked her to switch out the cups/drinks(which she didn't even change the cup) and she had a whole attitude the whole time. She also quickly closed the window, started talking to a co-worker and we forgot to get our kids' Apple juices because we were taken aback by her service. Came here on Friday to get a Happy Meal for Pokémon anniversary. Like other McDonalds that I have seen, the menu showed a picture of Pikachu leading me to believe that they participated in the Pokémon Happy Meal promotion. I simply ordered a Happy Meal, but upon opening it there was no Pokémon in sight. Instead a generic toy was inside. After looking at my receipt, I now realize it states a generic toy is included vs Pokémon. I thought at least all stand alone McDonald's were participating in the promotion so I'm not sure if I was supposed to specifically ask for a Pokémon Happy Meal or if they simply ran out. I later went to a different location asking again for just Happy Meal and I actually received Pokémon stuff with it. With the Pokémon promotion going on, It would have been of great service if the person taking my order had asked me if I either still wanted a Happy Meal despite not having the expected toy or which toy I wanted . The food itself met the usual taste standards expected. However my drink was not filled up to the top with tea. There was definitely enough ice though. read more

Worst McDonald's ever!!! Restaurant number 18702, 12700 Shoppes Ln, Fairfax, VA, needs some serious training: both in process, and in attitude. In April, I tried to redeem a buy-one-get-one coupon for any sandwich deal using a receipt I had received with the validation code (from the Survey) on the receipt. When I tried to redeem the coupon, the man at the counter said that it was not a proper receipt.  (He called over Jose, who also said that I could not use this because it wasn't a receipt.)At the same time, I used my mobile app to purchase a latte, and the receipt attached to my latte was EXACTLY the same as the one I tried to redeem. I asked to speak to the manager and after any interminable wait, a woman came out, said her name was Marie (unlikely), and said "no it's not a receipt so we can't take it." I showed her the receipt that I had just gotten for my latte order (again, the EXACT same type of receipt that she refused to take). She walked away and would not come back. Finally, another two women came out--Carolina had a manager badge on her shirt, and the other woman did not, but seemed like a manager. They finally took my order and took the BOGO receipt. This was very upsetting and I thought that McD's would like to know. A further frustration is that McDonalds did NOTHING to address the issue:I sent a detailed complaint to McDonalds: Case  number 29484951. I heard nothing back from anyone, and the case was closed without ever giving me an answer. I sent several follow-up's and, each time, they were closed without any response. Today, I queried them again, and I got a response that "Due to not receiving a response in the past 72 hours, this case has been closed." I would hope that the McDonald's Franchise Manager would like to know that one of their stores was proving service far below that expected of a McDonalds.I certainly will not shop at this McDonalds again. This is the worst McDonald's around. They never open on time and even if they do, I've had them tell me multiple times that they have no food, only coffee. You read that right, no food. One of my last attempts at this location, I arrived about 15-20 mins after they were scheduled to be open. All the lights were on, I could see employees inside and the "OPEN" sign was illuminated. They waved me off and refused to take my order or even tell me when they'd be open. read more

The quality of the food and service at this McDonald's location has gone down hill in the last two years. The accuracy of the orders is lacking, the attitude of the managers is atrocious, and the nickel and dime pricing is tiresome. An example of this is how they have recently begun changing $.25 for any and every sauce that you may want with your meal. I can understand if one sauce is included with your entree but any additional sauces would be an extra charge (something that is already ridiculous considering the margins on sauce), but they charge you for even one sauce for your fries or anything. It makes this location seem especially cheap and stingy. I know this one is run by the Winklevoss family or something. I wonder if they are running all of their locations like this. Do yourself a favor and skip this McDonald's location. There are other ones nearby that don't nickel and dime their customers. They rarely speak english, the few ones that do usually give you an attitude and would make you want to sucker punch them, management does not care about anything neither does the owner, extra sauces are rarely given so bring your own, sometimes at curbside you wait 15' with the drive thru empty and you will call and no one will pick up until the 12th time, has happened to me 6-7x, they mess up the orders easily like with plain burgers or a wrong person, one manager was exceptionally rude with blacks or hispanics and would hide the sauces from me with me knowing they were there telling me they weren't and told me to do it and call corporate yelling, would only go there for the food and cough drops for your throat when you use the mcdonalds app it is laggy. 1/5 of a star. read more

What I'm about to write will befuddle you, maybe even cause you to question life itself. This is actually the most wholesome McDonald's I've ever been to. I mean I don't think I ever actually thought of using wholesome to describe McDonald's but here we are. First of all it's spotless in here. They are cleaning regularly. Next up is the customer service. These people are so friendly it's actually surreal. Am I in a local diner or a McDonald's? I was very confused by the incredibly homey atmosphere created only through the employees' body language and conversation. Even more amazing was I observed their entire team come over and talk to this one customer who has clearly been a regular here, making conversation with him and generally just being wholesome af. Fucking bizarre. It's like an old school diner vibe with the employees and they're clearly very proud of what they have. Not even basic customer service exists here. I placed a curbside order and after 5 minutes called to make sure my order was received. How long does it take to put a Happy Meal together? The person said it would be out. Then NOTHING for another 4 minutes. Meanwhile my son is hungry. I called again and actually got attitude! After almost 15 minutes I got my order. Don't go here-or at least don't use the curbside function in the app because they seem to not know how to full those orders. If you're waiting in line wondering why this McDonalds is so consistently terrible and slow, it's because the family that owns it doesn't care at all. The same family (Van family, I think) has owned it for years and they go out of their way to make this particular location the worst. I've asked before and the black employees are treated like garbage and the get fed up and they leave, often mid-shift. This is not bad by your usual standards. It's AWFUL. I've literally sat in this drive-they for half an hour because the managers were trying to convince employees not to just walk out on the job. Update: this is still easily the most terrible McDonalds in Fairfax. It's literally across the street from me, but if I want McDonalds I drive three miles down the road to drive through where people aren't rude (the one on 50 is awesome). I'm a big fan of McDonald's. I've been to this particular one at least 4 times within the last 3 years mainly to buy my nephews & niece some happy meals and ice cream cones. This particular experience was average. Here's my drive through experience: Arrived around 5:30 pm. Placed our order. 3 Happy Meals, #1 Med Meal, with Sweet Tea, spicy chicken sandwich meal with Sweet Tea and three cones. From ordering to paying to receiving our meal tool about 3.5 minutes. Cashier and workers were seemed very nice. Great experience....so I thought. (I'm to used to living in Japan the past 6 months. You don't even have to double check your order or count your change there). As we reach our destination(home)I realized they forgot Sweet Tea and fries for my Spicy Chicken meal. We were too far away and decided to cut my losses. The upside.....niece/nephews were happy and quietly eating their food. It is what it is. Added an extra star for that peace and quiet from the Happy Meal. 2 stars. read more

I will start by saying I do not expect much out of McDonald's not did I ever think I would care enough to write a review about one. But this place just flat out sucks. I have probably been to this McDonald's a dozen or so times in the 7 years I have worked down the street and it never fails to disappoint. ALWAYS check your order...they WILL forget something every time. Today I ordered the 6 piece chicken tenders and only received 4. The box was marked "6 piece" and the manager was even standing at the window checking orders. A month or so ago I ordered the "pick 2" and only got one of my sandwiches. Again, my fault for being in a rush and not checking my order. My fault for having confidence in people to do their job correctly. Oh and if there are any more than 3 cars in line plan on waiting 30 minutes. read more

I've been to like 50 McDonalds in the Northern VA and DC area and this one is actually one of the better ones...and its pretty terrible. I would say 75% of the time if you ask for a custom order (like no pickles, or plain) they mess up the order. Then they give you attitude when you kindly ask for what you ordered. Actually, they give you attitude at all times, especially in the drive thru where employees will commonly curse when talking to you (not in a mean way, but casually, like its acceptable). The line for the drive thru is long and slow. And while I love that this Mackers is 24 hours, food in the middle of the night will take you 20 minutes or more even if you are the only one in line. One time I was there and there at 1am and there was some kind of inter-employee brawl happening inside. Screaming, yelling cursing. Meanwhile, I'm thinking about driving over the curb to escape. Employees yelling at each other or cursing loudly is common here. I would say there were at least 25 occasions where I went to this McDonalds only to see the line and end up at Burger King or Wendys because time was more important to me than food. Like I said, this is one of the better ones (if you live in Springfield I feel for you). Luckily for customers McDonalds is replacing its employees with robots and should be fully automated by the time I'm one of the elderly who goes for coffee every morning. read more

This is the McDonald's you go to if you wanna get sassed by the employees. Went there tonight through the drive-thru and ordered a number 3. The person taking the order put it in as a number 2 and told me to drive around. I asked for it to be fixed and got told with a tone that "you said two". Putting aside for the moment that I'm aware of the things I say - I'm usually the one that says them - the tone was a bit much. Pulled around and found out the guy taking the order had his ipod headphones in. So that explains that. This isn't the first time I've run into this. Not that long ago I ordered nuggets, got told to pull to the first window, paid - went to the second window. Got my food and asked for some sweet and sour sauce. Got told that "you need to ask for that when you order". Okay, so I know it's McDonalds and yes if I consistently have problems with their service, I should stop going/go to a different location/stop eating garbage fast food anyways, but a.) They are most convenient to my home and b.) As someone who worked in fast food, I still believe fast food should be held to a higher standard of product and service -- especially if they want to be taken seriously when asking for wage increases. I rarely complain about food service. Most mundane complaints aren't worth troubling the folks who arent paid enough to deal with it in the first place (eg add ketchup if they forgot it, don't go screaming about it). But what makes me feel the need to criticize this McDonald's in particular is the consistent lack of both decent product and even remote sense of happy customer service. All save one visit to this location have rewarded me with luke warm and even cold french fries. You are a restaurant. Hot food should be a given. Items are regularly forgotten from orders which is frustrating when you have paid for that item. I was once given TWO mcdoubles without their patties?? How does that happen? It's almost humorous save for all the other examples of poor service. Staff is rarely friendly, more often robotic, and in some cases unapologetically rude, all while providing mediocre product. I'm not saying anyone needs to be fired. But you seriously need to take a look at your staff, cut the dead weight, and even look at your management staff and see if they are making the work place a pleasant place to be.
