Staff at the location is not assisting and absolutely rude. We stopped inside for a quick sandwich this afternoon 4/20/26 around 1:30pm and was completely ignored. There wasn't anyone in line but us & it seemed as if staff was annoyed we were there. We waited & waited to place our order and was looked over at by staff several times and was ignored. A young girl in a reflective safety vest brushed by me twice almost to the point of bumping into me. I took it as if this was done on purpose. She was absolutely not happy we were waiting for assistance so we left. She did not want to assist us, no one did. Also the dining room was uninviting and filthy. Spills & trash on the floor & chairs/stools in disarray. This was a horrible experience to say the least. If you're on Hwy 40 going to the beach and want a quick dinner on the way, this is not it. We tried to dine in on a Wednesday, well after rush. Ordered at the kiosk and waited forever. They spoke our order number, instead of bringing to the table like the kiosk says. Would have missed it if we weren't changing tables to get away from an intoxicated man in his phone. They left the tray on the counter and skedaddled outta there to the back. The problem was there are no drinks, ketchup, salt, anything in the dining area. Just try and get someone's attention tho to get some ketchup. Not happening. I watched people give up and leave without ordering. Honestly, the food was actually good. This McDonald's stands out for me in the way of Service. No one goes to McDonald's for gourmet food. You just don't. You go because it is fast, convenient and food can be good. Not so good FOR you, but who cares? McDonald's (everywhere) tried salads, wraps and parfaits. Were those number one in sales? No. Even though liked the salad and wraps, those items are no longer available. At least not at "this" McDonald's. I usually go for the McChicken sandwich, Med fries and fountain drink. That's about it. Snack or lunch, that's what I get. But, it's the Service at this particular McDonalds. First off, no televisions blaring bad news from CNN. I hate that. Second, it's very clean. Third, Management. I have never, EVER, had a manager at ANY McDonald's tell me that they will "check on me later". Sure enough, this manager came over and asked me how I was doing and if I was enjoying my food. I said, "yes, however, note to your fryers - time to change the oil." This manager said she would let the morning shift know of this request. Fries were too brown for my liking (I go a lot so I know when it is time). Thank you for passing my suggestion on. If you are hungry, this McDonald's will not disappoint. Most visitors here use the drive-through because it is right off of 40 East to 42 West. I like to sit in the dining room because it is never crowded. People on the move, I guess. And, with the new road configuration and parking lot changes, let the drive-through people come. I'm learning all the new technology like ordering from a touch screen. This restaurant no longer offers the option of ordering in person or through the touch screen system. Ordering itself was fairly easy but the check out process was confusing as all get out. We tried to get a McDonald's employee that was standing next to the ordering kiosk to help us with the final step but he was deaf to our request. We finally watched another couple struggle and once they succeeded we asked them how to find a table number to enter. They had figured out there were a stack of number placards next to the check out register that you use to identify your order. After entering that key piece of information you pay at the cashier. Food was average McDonald's and we had no complaints about our main food purchase. I was caught off guard that this McDonald's still allows customers to refill their drink cups. Just a day prior in KY that was not allowed. Then again I did not see anyone wearing facemasks or following any other Covid precautions at this restaurant. Might be back in the future but there are so many fast food options that we might choose a location that considers health and safety more. read more

The staff there are very unprofessional and slam windows in their customer's face. The so called manager lady that's cross eyed with dark hair literally told me we hadn't ordered anything in the last hour when we literally sat there waiting for our food. We were not given a receipt and she acted like she didn't believe us and went to verify. We literally have it where they took the money from our bank account. I literally told her in her face that she was the liar and I would just continue running up their drive through time until I received our food. It was literally a burger and a fry. The guy who slung my bag to me literally slammed the drive through window in my face and I still had to wait, again, for the fry. I do not like to cause trouble but these people were making me upset. The so called manager literally rolled her eyes at me and was like, "make a deluxe". Prufffff I will never eat there again and I would recommend others not to as well! I don't even like McDonalds like that and I had just drove home from Washington DC, 5 1/2 hours, to deal with their attitude problems and unprofessionalism. Another waist of 45 minutes of life! Once again I place a simple drive thru order. Medium fries and a 6 piece with buffalo sauce. First I had to wait almost 15 minutes between the time I ordered and the time I was told to go to "Reserved Drive Thru". I got to the pickup window and requested Buffalo sauce just to be sure. No sauce in the bag. I asked the kid that delivered my order if hot sauce was in the bag. She said no but she would get it for me. I'm waiting....She delivers 4 more meals to other cars but still no sauce. I couldn't wait cause I was hungry so dry food and being ignored. Absolute terrible service! Our food was given to the wrong car. When my husband went in the get the right order nothing was fresh. We live less than a mile from this location. When he got home the burgers were barely 100 degrees and fries ice cold. When I called the store the "manager" argued with me on the phone and told me everything was made fresh. I told her I could be back with all of the food and a photo of the temp and burgers she told me I was trying to cause trouble and hung up. When I called back and asked for corporates number, she told me she didn't have it they were under new management and hung up on me again. If you continue to have a manager like this run your store, I can see why you have so many remakes and disorganization!!! read more

Why is the McDonald's on 40/42 so horribly bad/slow? Does McDonald's corporate not care about the performance of their restaurants? This location is FOREVER slow -- especially on the weekends. We waited in line Sunday around 11:30am (12/10/2023) about five minutes (there were only two cars ahead of us in the double line at that point). Once I got up to the speaker on the inside lane, we waited another 8 minutes before someone came over the speaker and said they were suspending orders for a few minutes. I responded that "I've already been waiting for 10 minutes," to which she just repeated the statement again. Waited another 5 minute. By that time a car three cars up got out of line to leave. After some finagling, my wife got out of the car and spoke to a woman in the outside lane who backed up enough to let us out of the line to leave this awful place. I keep telling myself I'll never come back to this location, but after this, I'm 100% certain I won't be back until it's under new management. read more

This is the worst McDonald's I've ever been to, hands down, coast to coast. Their drive through line is terrible to start. Do yourself a favor and pick the inner line, not the outer line, because for some reason they take twice as many orders from the inner line while the people on the outer side get skipped over and over and line jumped from the parking lot. Also CHECK YOUR BAG, because I guarantee they shorted you an item or gave you the wrong stuff altogether. I literally have to unwrap every sandwich individually to make sure they didn't mess it up. This is the most convenient McDonald's at 40/42 and I'm pretty sure they're open 24 hours so it's convenient. Utterly convenient and utterly terrible. This McDonald's is exceptionally run from my experience here. They are very fast compared to most, I haven't had any mistakes made with my orders, and I'm always greeted and thanked very nicely. Unfortunately, I40 and Exit 312 houses one of the more sorry McDonalds. Let's start with the positive. 1. They have recently renovated and the did a nice job. 2. It's generally clean and not in a bad neighborhood. 3. You probably won't get mugged here. Now for the bad news. 1. Prepare yourself for 20-25 minutes in the drive-thru. 2. Prepare for your order to be wrong. Most likely something that you ordered will be missing. 3. Watch for double charges (2 fries instead of 1) 4. If you love bad attitude then this is the place for you. 5. The quality of the food is bad and usually cold. 6. And finally, they make it clear that the customer doesn't matter. Been going to this McD's since we moved out here in 2001. But over the last 2 years this place has gone downhill badly. Wait times in the drive-thru are ridiculous (I've spent 20 minutes before).
