This is a convenient location on the way from the airport. If I want something quick, there's the Holy Chicken place nearby with its 20-minute drive-thru wait (and my lifetime boycott) or gas station cuisine at Sheetz. Otherwise, it's sit-down fare or five minutes either way up the road for fast food. This place is like a moody teenager. Sometimes everyone is in a great mood and I get things fast and correct. Other times, it's like everyone was told they won't be getting paid that week and the food was scraped up right before being tossed out. I know it's McDonald's and as an adult I should know better, but somehow the kids still love this stuff more than the competition. Given recent price hikes that make meals for three equal to a dine-in experience at better places, I should at least expect to serve kids edible junk food. read more

First I ordered Milkshakes & was then told no shakes, then I waited for the time window to pass to reorder in app, then back in drive-thru & car in front broke down (wouldn't start) I moved Cone in other drive-thru lane & car started, went to order & was told to put Cone back I said I would & she told me I won't take your order till you do what you are told. I had an APP order so I had to be her Bitch..before I was allowed to order. Then never asked about app, never greated me, and on top of all this my biscuit is not completely cooked...it's half raw tasting. She is completely unprofessional and to treat a 41 yr old like I was her child is so messed up. I don't understand how people like this are able to become managers, probably because this franchise won't pay a decent salary for overnight work, we know that General Management doesn't work overnight and they don't check up on their overnight staff. The franchise ownership should be ashamed of having this kind of Management treating their customers this way. Terrible customer service. I was driving through town towards an appointment. I do not live in the area. Drove through. Ordered a quarter pounder and cheese meal. Got on turnpike, and half way down turnpike reached in bag and found chicken nuggets. Hate chicken nuggets so the meal went in trash. Called the restaurant. Did not get an option for having my inconvenience compensated without driving over an hour and a half to go back to that restaurant. Asked to hear back from manager when I called store twice. Never heard back. Called the McDonald corporate number. Also asked for call from manager nothing. Sent an email to corporate complaints. Still nothing from general manager. Received email from some person that said that they would send me coupons to use at their store. I sent email back with my address that if their stores were not close to me I would not spend more money than the cost of the meal to use the coupons. I get the coupons today without any locations listed to use them. 5 th call and still got nowhere. Guy said I will send over to manager. I said the same manager that has not called me to this point. Bottom Line: An updated McDonald's that is consistent with the McDonald's brand. My expectations for McDonald's isn't high but I do expect consistency which is what I got at this location, plus a better-than-average interior. The decor has been updated and they've added a digital ordering board. I was just there for my usual, a $1.06 32 oz. Diet Coke, so I skipped the electronic board and placed my order at the counter. This McDonald's is easily accessible from the highway and seems like a good spot for caffeine and a bathroom break. read more

While I certainly wouldn't call this the "worst" McDonald's out there, it's probably not going to be ranked in the best category either. Came here for breakfast only - so anything that happens past 9am, I have no idea. And really, I very rarely will eat McDonald's if it's not their breakfast since anything but their breakfast is blah to begin with. It's too bad they don't just give in and have the option of their breakfast for the rest of their day. I'd much rather have their bacon, egg, & cheese biscuit over what they consider a "cheeseburger". I don't care how many salads McDonald's tries to add into their menus, their burgers and food are cheap fast food. Anyone going to McDonald's past 11am should already know what they're getting. Food (breakfast) was fine - the biscuits fell apart a little easier than other locations, so they failed at that. The customer service was standard for McDonald's - which means blah. The booth we sat at was clean, but there were noticeable not so clean tables as well - but most McDonald's have that with limited staff in the morning hours. The parking lot is sizable, but watch for idiots who speed in for the drive-thru and speed back out going to and from your car. It's McDonald's. Your expectations should be low enough. Mine were. But if you like their breakfast on occasion like I do, by all means. If you also want more for your buck, there is a good diner right next door. read more

Of all the McDonald's in the Harrisburg area, this one in Swatara is probably one of the better ones. I come here sometimes and usually I get my food within 5 minutes or so. The place isn't perfect though which is why it gets a 4. I don't do Drive Thru here because I usually have time before rehearsal to eat here. Today though was different. When I walked in, there were menu boards like touch screens I could place my order. Its like they automated the ordering system here. This wasn't here before, so I wonder how many places will have this automated system. Though if you have to pay with cash, you still have to go to the register. I don't mind that. Here's the reason it got a 4. For the most part this place is clean, but some of the tables were not. I mean, I did find a clean one, but they need to clean the tables more often. We are in town for a hockey tournament and went to McDonald's for breakfast. After placing our order we were given a total and told nothing else. Drove to the window that indicates payment and no one was there. Waited a few minutes pulled forward, miserable looking women said $18.71 stuck her hand out another crew member returned my Card I asked for a receipt and was given it by the other crew Member( wearing drive thru jacket) miserable crew member handed me drinks said nothing else. The customer behind us started to honk I moved to second pick up Window. Waited 4 minutes no one appeared. I drove back to the order menu and indicated we paid and received drinks however no food. She said "it's at the second window like I told you" the same Miserable woman brown hair about 5'7"-5'8" whipped a bag of food at me said " I told you second window" I responded " unfortunately you only gave me a total and the customer behind us was beeping" she was rude and a disgrace as a representative for this company. She gives me a sarcastic smirk and says "nope I said second window but you have a nice day and we hope to never see you again" I asked for her name she pointed to a name tag "it's right here" she was now 4-5ft away from the drive thru window I clearly Couldn't read her name tag and again asked for her name. This place was sadly probably THE worst McDonalds I have EVER been in. The stairs were filthy even though there was a sign that said "Caution Wet Floor' implying the floor had been recently mopped. In the "Lobby" area, there was an ex large order of fries that had been spilled while we were waiting for our food. We went and ate, an when we were done, they still weren't pocked up! The wait, by the way, was simply the worst I have ever experienced. The bathrooms were atrocious! Keep in mind, this was 6PM on a Sunday evening...not a particularly busy time I would think...and there certainly weren't tons of customer in there. I usually love going to this place but today was terrible. Went to the driv thru and in total I waited an hour in line then when I finally get to the window I can hear employees arguing and it was very unprofessional. Then when its time to get my food they wait 10 mins before the gave me part of my order and told me to pull up to the other window. They told me for one burger it would be 2 mins well 15 minutes go by and no one has ever come to my window to tell me anything. I had to get out of my car walk in and my burger was just sitting there with no one caring it was done, and on top of that the food is just disgusting. Fast food joints often deserve the bad rap they get. This McD's stands out, which is apparently pretty hard to do. The dining room is clean, light and uncluttered. The playlist on the speakers is relaxed, current, and compliments the updated mood in the store. But enough about atmospherics: how was the food? Fries--hot, crisp, just the right amount of salt. The Quarterpounder--juicy and steaming, spiced just right (did you know they salt & pepper the patty?), with the correct quantities of condiments and a not-stale-as-usual warm bun. All this came to my table in under 3 minutes. Staff are friendly and efficient. Ray Kroc would be proud. read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! We pulled up to a two drivethru and then after sitting in the second one for 15 min as they are helping people in only one line, we moved over to the other line and then they started only using the second one for 10 min. After we finally put our order in we sat in the line for 20 min waiting while one mistake screwed up the whole line of at least 10 cars. The man in the window giving out the food then began to ask all the cars in the line to backpack so that the car that had a mistake could back up into the window again. Don't waste your time and money with this location. I have given this specific McDonalds multiple chances and they mess up my order every time. This is the 4th consecutive mixup in a row. This time I ordered just an Artisan Grilled Chicken, got home and found out the chicken wasn't even grilled! They threw an old piece of fried chicken on there. In the garbage it went. Other times, I have asked for PLAIN double cheese burgers, with added Big Mac Sauce, which apparently is too hard. On one occasion, they made them REGULAR double cheeseburgers (added all the normal condiments like lettuce, etc.) with added big mac sauce when the slip clearly said plain. On another occasion, they just made them plain and didn't add the sauce. I can't believe these employees think they are deserving of $15.00 an hour. The orders I have specifically placed, which are very easy to follow and understand, is just too much for the line workers to figure out. This was the last straw for this McDonalds location. I promised the girl at the Drive Through this morning, I would give them a good review..this McDonalds is conveniently on my way to work, so I often stop for coffee, sometimes the drive through is packed so I go inside, but usually the drive through is just fine. Over the years, they have completely renovated this location, and it is very nice inside, and the landscaping looks nice too. Its much more modern and there are charging stations for your phones, and comfy chairs to sit in. I usually don't use the rest rooms, but so far the whole place looks pretty good otherwise. I took note a few times, that there were regulars frequenting the place. My order is always very fast, this morning was amazing! The cars exiting the drive through line were backing up because the drive through was so fast and efficient. Almost every one that has rung me up has been very friendly and smiling, and tells me to have a nice day. I appreciate everyone that has blessed my day in this way. I had a very bad experience here. I asked for "3 hot cakes with sausage" which is an item on the menu. I also ordered a large shake. The cashier then told me it would cost something around $18 for these items. She was trying to charge me for 3 orders of "3 hot cakes with sausage." When I asked her why it was that much she helped me out with the math by explaining to me that 3 X 4 = 12. Brilliant. This location is a nightmare. They have gotten our orders wrong on numerous occasions. Rotten attitudes by the teenagers at the drive-thru window. One time after finishing my drink, I took off the lid to my cup and found the drink dispenser nozzle sitting at the bottom! The only reason we went to this location was because it is the closest McD's to our home. Not anymore. I have complained to the manager at that location & the corporate headquarters, nothing changed.
