I placed a mobile order June 1st at 1035 pm and when I arrived at 1050 pm to pick it up they had already cleaned up the restaurant to close at 1100 pm and refused to make my order. Additionally, said they couldnt refund my payment either. So I did not receive my food or my money back. Additionally, the manager victor was very rude and wouldnt help with how to get my money back or the food I already paid for. McDonald's are McDonald's. And this one certainly fits the bill. Fast drive through service. The food is always hot and fresh. My boys get McDonald's on Friday nights. And the one thing I've learned is I ALWAYS double check the toys in the Happy Meals. This McDonald's is close and convenient. I'm giving a good review because they are friendly at the window, as fast as humanly possible, and the food is very consistent. Fries are usually hot, sandwiches are never smashed or messy, and orders are correct and packed well. Other drive-thru's take notice. I will say, though, that you need to emphasize you don't want them pushing Large and Supersize items. It almost seems like they earn a commission for upselling. I just don't want the extra calories (yeah, I know, then why go to McD's). One new guy who takes orders seems over his head when they are busy or perhaps he does not listen well. I moved to the area about 6 months ago and have gotten food poisoning twice from this location. I think they do most of their business in the morning so they are good for coffee and breakfast but not regular lunch dinner so stay away from the burgers and fries here. It's too bad because it 5 minutes from my house but nothing is worth the pain of food poisoning. I'll never eat here again. read more

This location was super clean and very friendly! Got the McRib and spicy chicken sandwich meals and both were duhlish. I've eaten at this McDonalds on multiple occasions and they have really nice workers and great service. Today I was really craving their Big Breakfast which I have ordered a handful of times. When I got home, I ate the pancakes and eggs first, before I got to my favorite part of the meal, the BISCUIT. I opened it and the first thing I see is a long, brown hair (I have short brown hair). I was confused how it managed to get in between my biscuit out of all places because I've read that they either come frozen or they're made at the store and I would assume someone would have seen an 8 inch strand of hair sticking out of it. Okay so I never thought I'd be writing a Yelp review on McDonald's. But here I am. I feel compelled to because this McDonald's location has the BEST customer service. Shamefully, I go a lot .. I have one year old twins and drive-thrus tend to be a savior for me. Every time I have gone ... they are cheerful, friendly, professional, and timely. 3rd time they missed one of my orders so I had to go back and pick it up. So if you order too many, it might be too confusing for their staff. I love McDonal's but the crew in Highwood is making a lot of mistakes almost every order. I've seen changes of their crew but still the same mistakes. Gotna free medium fries when I went to go pick up what they missed. That's the only good thing that happened with that fiasco. If there's any other McDonald's closer to home, I'd go to that than the one in Highwood. read more

Ok, ok--I know. A 5 star McDonalds? Well yes. For a McDonalds, this has to be the best in the country--and I have traveled for a living. The food is McDonalds--but here's the catch--it's always hot and aways fresh. The real difference here is the people. This is, by far, the friendliest McDonalds I have ever been to. And I am old enough to remember 45 cents for a 3 course meal when fast friendly service was one of their benchmarks. A very well managed and staffed location. Okay, first of all, it's McDonald's. I never expect much of anything when I drive through or order from here. I just figure you place your order, pick up your food, and then if someone working at the window makes you smile, you remember it! Boom. Lately we've been obsessed with the new McDonald's app. We take advantage of Free Fry Friday, and our regular smoothie and ice cream runs. Occasionally my kiddos order a signature burger or ridiculously-priced buttermilk chicken tenders (we usually say no). We recently started ordering through the app, credit card attached, where you order ahead of time for pickup. Last night we had one kid who wanted Mean Wiener in Highwood, so we ordered a signature burger for the other kid right around the corner, foolishly thinking we'd easily swing by and pick it up on the way home. Fail! Turns out they don't know how to work with the app/order ahead system, and the guy on duty said "no one uses the app, so...sorry!" Ummm, okay, so we ordered and paid ahead of time, had to go in and wait for longer than any regular order! Don't use your app here, because it's a waste of time. Just go through the normal drive-thru and order old school...you'll be fine. Oh, and to top it off, they barely put bbq sauce on my kid's signature bbq burger. Ha! Whatever. Horrible service, if you can avoid this McDonald's please do. As I was ordering through the drive through, I had asked the guy taking my order a simple question and he answered me with an attitude and as I was trying to understand him he kept being rude and getting loud. I left and I went inside and asked for a manager and the manager said I was the one who was wrong without even knowing what happened. Just stopped in quickly after driving around endlessly looking for a public restroom in this god da*n town, literally everybody who works at this fine establishment is an angel. Common hospitality may seem like "what gives" from the outside, but, we're ALL human, we're perfectly imperfect and to this day; knowing when I have to go 1 or 2 isn't as scheduled and predictable as I'd like it to be. We're all human: thank you for not allowing me to wet my new jeans. Again, may just sound like a simple pee, but to me, it set me free. Thank you at the end of the day it's hard to be good with such little recognition, but I live and strive to change that. The news is always bad news but there are more good out there than bad. Disgusting......had breakfast and was sick with a massive headache the rest of the day....I've had breakfast at Sally's and the Starbucks next to McD's many times and never got this sick from their food. Worst place to eat. The staff is extremely rude. The cashier started yelling at me when I tried to add a sandwich to my order.

Went thru the drive thru today around 130pm....could not even understand the person taking my order.....went to window to pay.....the order was wrong....asked to speak to a manager....and another person came to address the problem....again, barely could understand her. The one big problem I have with this McDonald's is they will always try to get away with charging you the higher price if you do not specifically request the "special." Happens every time and I never say the specific deal just to catch them. For example, I asked for 2 McDouble cheese burgers yesterday and the person who I believe was the manager charged me for individual burgers not the 2 for $3 deal clearly listed on the menu. I immediately called him on it. This is not the first time they've done this so my advice is do not trust these people to charge you exactly what they should. All McDonald's do not do this but this one does! BEWARE. Nothing wrong with the quality, just the honesty. read more
