Now, Illinois Chick-fil-A has drive-thru booths.... little human vending machines that Californians like us can only describe as fascinating anthropological discoveries. We skipped the futuristic drive-thru, though, and bravely dined al fresco, bc the sun was out and we're fancy like that... until the wind tried to blow our waffle fries into Lake Michigan!! Came here with a group from work. I ordered the chicken sandwich with a GF bun. I asked for the kitchen to put on new gloves. The bun came out in a sealed wrapper and everything was in its own container. The fries were also GF. The bun fell apart pretty easily but it was good. read more

I wish more people would visit the new location in Buffalo Grove. The drive through is pretty darn cool. They have a lane for mobile orders and then a regular lane, but instead if a drive up window, they have a covered drive up door and they can walk up to your vehicle protected by the elements. Their food is great! Delicious chicken sandwiches, awesome waffle fries, sauces, and everything. Plus their food is fresh, staff is friendly, and man they have the the food out fast! read more

I always love me some Chick-fil-A. Nothing beats their diet lemonade and waffle fries. I ordered the Chick-fil-A sandwich and it was OK. Kind of too salty to be honest with you. But mask it a little bit with some sugary Chick-fil-A sauce and all is forgiven. Service was good, and their pleasure, and the overall ambiance is what you would expect at a Chick-fil-A: lots of booths and seats, a play area, and the trash compost that makes throwing away your trash, oh so satisfying. read more

This is the second time that I've been disappointed by this Chick-fil-A. The first time, they wouldn't honor a gift card. This time, they failed to give him my tea after they close the window so I had to yell out for my tea, and then they forget to give me sauce for my sandwich, which I asked for extra sauce. I will give it zero stars if it was possible. The restaurant was a pig sty. The garbage cans were overflowing. Food was all over the floors and tables were not cleared. Ironically the manager was giving an orientation to new employees about customer service and when I mentioned how disappointed I was with the restaurant I was ignored. Eating out with any kind of food restrictions is tough. With Celiac it's even tougher. We can confidently come here knowing that the food we're getting is safely gluten free. In fact, when we said Celiac, Dave the manager jumped in. He was extremely helpful in confirming they have a dedicated fryer for french fries (no cross contamination) and that the grilled chicken nuggets were also safe. As compared to other fast food restaurants, I think Chil-Fil-A has a lot to offer. There is a play area for kids, if you had a long day and want to sit down and and let your kids run around somewhere to burn off steam without breaking the bank. The Mac and cheese is also very good! IMO, mac and cheese is one of those food items that can be risky to order because there are a lot of ways that it can go wrong (e.g., bland flavor, noodles can get too soggy, etc.), but Chik-Fil-A has somehow nailed it. My kids even love it (and they are picky as hell). I also like the variety of sauces they offer for their chicken products. I wouldn't rate this restaurant 4 stars against all restaurants, but as compared to other restaurants in its category, it definitely exceeds my expectations. read more

Boycott this location since it has recently decided to NOT accept cash in the drive thru. When I spoke to a manager, about not taking the USA government LEGAL TENDER cash, I was told 1 person paid by counterfeit bills,so now they are punishing the rest of us innocent. I've had regular issues with ordering food and not getting it, but paying for it at this location. I'm also upset since they took off menu items and downsized others. Like their regular (not spicy) chicken sandwich, more chicken tenders and nuggets sizes, and larger ice cream in a cup. Like the mail, Chick-fil-A delivers, just not on Sunday..... Went to the Vernon Hills location after catching a movie last week. It was early afternoon (4pm) and before the typically dinner rush time. So, the dining area was pretty sparse. Therefore, we were able to walk in and order with no line and the food was cooked and brought out fast. (Two families, total of 10 people's meals). Lots of reviews about bad service at this location. We did not experience that. The server was pretty personable and while we were eating noticed another employee going around and cleaning the tables. The food was what you would expect from Chick-fil-A. Seemed hot and made to order. Maybe all this changes if I came during a peak time, but for my experience, it was good all around. read more

I like their breakfast sandwiches, but a returning employee is bad news. In the past, I used to come here often. Lately, I started coming back. One lady working there is very unprofessional. Her name is Lori. She used to work here, she left, and now she is back and she's bad news. She treats employees very bad. I have recently seen her not wearing a mask properly, standing on top of employees ( no 6 ft distance) in the drive thru window area. I have seen her in drive thru window bothering and harrasing employees. Beth better think twice about keeping this loose cannon around. Lori's behavior ruins the work environment, you can see it through the drive thru window. Employees look unhappy when she's around. In the afternoon when I stop, employees look happier. Really friendly service from the guy who took my order. I needed change for the darn thruway and he was happy to make with the quarters. The food was fresh and fast. The restaurant was spotless. The same guy came around later to all the tables offering extra ketchup. I was like "Aw, that's sweet!" even though the only thing I take on my waffle fries is salt. Ketchup? First time I had ever been there... though i am aware of the hype. Admittedly the food is really amazing for a fast food place. Felt almost like a hybrid of a diner with fast food... like that Portillos Buona Beef or Chipotle vibe... I'm not usually going to these places btw b/c I like ambiance if I'm sitting down... if it's convenience it's drive thru... Anywho. It was dinner before a movie that was starting in 45 minutes and nearby... so it worked out well - the cashier recommended one of the salads and it was very yum. The service here is beyond my expectations. They have a device at the tables where you can order more food or ask for something you forgot (ketchup, chick-fil-a sauce, straw, etc) and they will bring it to you. There was one time I went and I guess their computer malfunctioned. I waited for maybe 10 minutes for my meal, which I was okay with , but the workers made a big deal out of it. As an apology for me waiting they gave me a free cookie and gave my boyfriend any option of a sandwich with free fries and cookies too. I know a lot of people prefer crispy chicken over grilled (like me), but their grilled sandwich was amazingly juicy and not plain tasting at all. I'm actually surprised that all of their chicken is juicy and never dry...like why can't Popeye's ever get that consistency? Their wraps are really good as well if you are looking for something "healthier". The Chick-fil-A sauce is CRACK...and I suggest you dip it in everything...sandwiches, nuggets, fries,etc. I am a huge fan of lemonade and I have to say...Chick-fil-A has the best lemonade I've ever tasted. I've never had a problem with any other Chick-fil-a, so I was thrilled when we moved here and I was close to one. But seriously- every single time we order here, something is wrong or missing. As someone who spent years in customer service, retail, and food, I have a lot of patience for the industry... but this location is honestly a mess. We've had so many bad drive through mix ups, where they've given our food to someone else, so we've had to pull around and wait 15-20 minutes for a new order, and 8/10 times, it's still wrong. When we've been charged for things we didn't get, I've reached out to the restaurant to ask about getting that refunded or getting a coupon for the item for next time, since we didn't get it when we paid for it... we're always shrugged off, saying it will be in the mail (it's not). Today, my pushed-over-the-edge point was when I placed an order through the app, and it sat there for almost an hour without the restaurant making it. I thought maybe there was a glitch, so I called to see if it came though on their end... no one answered. I called 4 times, trying different options, and no one ever answered. So I called customer service, and they tried calling the store for almost 20 minutes, getting no one on the phone... and finally they just told me to cancel the order. I love every other Chick-fil-a I've been to- the amazing work ethic always shines through. But I don't understand what is happening at this location... Not a big deal, but those of us of a certain age with the misfortune of having worked retail years ago may well remember a time when training and/or the ability to prospectively select staff with functional frontal lobes was not optional, such that those working the cash register actually transcended the lobotomized, disinterested garden variety of incompetence on leave from the Spaulding School. More specifically, are these dullards trained to greet the consumer, with, say, a "Good evening, thank you for your business, perhaps a "thank you or other departing summarization, etc. to indicate, say, that every element of a moderately sized order has been delivered?" The more endomorphic Paris Hilton wannabee through whom we suffered must have been depressed at the paltry number of ensuing Instagram "likes" pursuant to posting the thong pictures that those unfortunate enough to happen upon them ,three hours prior to shift commencement, can never "unsee", or perhaps the prescribed SSRIs were either flushed down the toilet or forgotten. Who knows? It does not matter, really, the piss poor service rendered at check out was inexcusable and unacceptable. We encountered this null-set at the check out window at 2058 on 08-12-23. "Buffy", or "Moon Unit" or whatever the hell was her/its name was either incompetent, miserable with her lot in life or wondering why her dream of YouTube Influencer status had yet to come to fruition. We understand how difficult it is finding engaged, happy, shiny, caring employees for these types of roles but this would be the last person, based on our admittedly limited exposure to her/it/whatever we'd have manning the register at any business we run and it's a shame that Chic fill A Vernon HIlls hasn't, we assume, discerned this obviously weakest of links in what was otherwise a strong supply chain but apparently they have not. I really appreciate their cleanliness and professionalism. When I do a review on fast food restaurants, the rating is highly depended upon customer service and the cleanliness. The last four times I've been to the Vernon Hills location something was forgotten or wrong in my order at the drive through. From kid's milk to fries to an entire meal. Today I made one more attempt at a complete order. I mentioned a gluten allergy for the kids grilled chicken nugget meal. I was told this was flagged on my order. I went on and double checked everything with the person before getting the food at the window. Everything matched up. Get home and no surprise they did not put the grilled chicken in my bag but fried. So much for flagging for gluten! I called and spoke to a manager since my daughter still wanted to eat. To my surprise there is no option of returning to the store to get the correct food! They offered to send me a gift card.... Not a very helpful solution for a kid that's hungry.
