Wow- just wow. Stuck in Charleston due to flight delays. This McDonalds was the only fast food open around. I came through the drive thru at 10pm- an hour before close!! Took awhile to be acknowledged - he finally said go ahead and order but we only have nuggets, quarter pounders- and drinks. No fries!! How can McDonalds have no fries!! Also no ice cream- machine is down. Now I know this is pure laziness- everything is pre- made- you drop it in a fryer or grill it. I left with three 10 piece nuggets for my hungry kids- that didn't bother to put the sauce in the bag we requested. You can also hear the heavy white lady manager screaming at her employees - just wow- how can the GM of this McDonalds allow this behavior to continue?? Clearly a trend from previous reviews. If I could give zero stars I would. the manager nika or what ever her name is she is a manager she was working Wednesday January 21 at 9:00 am, this is the worst encounter I have ever had!!! We ordered though the mobile app then they told us to pull around which I didn't mind while we were waiting this lady (Nika) came our window and slung the food at my husband with one hand. I had to go back in there because they forgot a drink and made one a small even though it was suppose to be a large while I was waiting I seen her tip over another customers frappe and then picked it back up and put the whipped cream that fell on the counter back on top of it. Sat at the drive-thru for at least 5 minutes without being acknowledged. Finally drove up after the car in the other lane also drive after saying hello numerous times and not getting a response. No one was at the 1st window. Car that drove up was at the 2nd window being served. I advised the young man that no one came on the intercom and I was sitting there close to 5 minutes. He said they got backed up and he refused to take my order there at the window. He said I would have to drive around again. He said the car ahead of me had a mobile order. The customer service here has gone severely downhill. I was initially using the kiosk to order (they have a sign that says use kiosk only), but I couldn't quite get it to work so I went to order my food at the counter. The employee looked really annoyed, but took my order. I was doing dine in. When my order finally came (took like 10 minutes), they forgot my drink and didn't include any cream/sugar with my coffees. I took me another 5 minutes or so till I could get the missing items. I asked three different employees, but was largely ignored. My issue really isn't with this McDonald's.. it's more or less the app because that's what I ordered my food off of. When I made my order it was for a McRib that was on me app. After sitting there for 10 minutes the young lady came out stating that that was a seasonal item and asked if I would want something else. Nothing like getting a taste in your mouth for something only to be told no. I went ahead with a quarter pounder that was not as good but can't always get what you pay for right. This is probably the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. To be fair, my rating can only consist of their service at breakfast because that is when I visit McDonald's, but nonetheless....I don't think I EVER go here and get a Diet Coke that is not flat or out of syrup. I'm not even exaggerating. I historically have loved McDonald's coke products and theirs are never good. I've stopped going and driving to one further away because the drink is 80% of the reason I visit this establishment. Secondly there is a rude elderly lady who is always working, never with a positive attitude. I understand being tired, but being straight up disrespectful and rude is not at all how you should be at work. I never have any issues with my food, it's always really hot and tastes fine. I have an issue with the people who work there not paying attention to the customers. I've had to wait forever at the speaker when there's nobody else, I've had to wait at the window to pay while they chit chat in the window and then have to wait for someone to hand me my food/drink that I sitting right on the counter. The location is convenient and they've never gotten my order wrong, but it just frustrates me having to wait while they talk. read more

This McDonald's location on Montague Avenue in North Charleston is one of my favorite places to stop for a quick meal. It is easy to get to from the interstate when you are passing by and you can get in there and get your food quickly and be on your way. I really enjoy their breakfast items here as they are delicious and well prepared and are there when you need them. The staff here is very friendly and you can tell that they work hard to get everything out to you. It is good to have a consistent McDonald's location that you know will be good. read more

My second time here and it takes FOREVER to get your food (at least at breakfast time). My food was always hot but I hate waiting 20+ minutes for a biscuit and coffee. Went through drive thru, staffing taking order and payment were very polite as were the staff providing the food at the second window. I was not offered to be upsold which was nice and the food was hot and fries salted well. I did not receive a receipt nor napkins, it's ok, the politeness made up for it. I was prepared to say nice things about this restaurant, but after I witnessed an exchange between the store manager and a customer I changed my mind. A customer in a wheelchair was trying to find out who's car was parked in the shaded area between two handicapped parking spots. He asked all the customers, then went to the employees. It finally came down to the store manager's car. When he informed her that where she was parked was not a parking spot, she stated that it wasn't a handicapped spot. He told her the extra space was so he could maneuver his wheelchair in and out of the car. She told him there was another handicapped parking spot and she wasn't using one, but there was nowhere else to park when she came in and she would move her car. Not located in the nicest area, but I've been here a few times and the restaurant has been clean and employees friendly. It's right off I-26 and seems to stay somewhat busy. Food is ready fast. I decided to grab some grub to satisfy some cravings after a disappointing dinner at another place, and was further disappointed by the service at this place. I had a pretty simple order, two sandwiches, but it ended waiting almost 30 minutes. The cashier that took our order literally did not say a single word to us and just completely looked disinterested with her job. I understand this isn't what you want to be doing, but I expect some semblance of hospitality even at a McDonalds. The other thing that caught my eye was the ice machine. The side was disgustingly dirty (see pictures). The only saving grace is when one of the other employees offered us free drinks for the long wait. Even still, this place is still a 1 star.
