I ordered 2 40 pieces. Ended up with half of that. Went back to get my other half of the order. Upon giving them my receipt and bag, the lady at the front with the mustache and chopped face, deadass walked to the back, acted like she fixed my order then handed me my bag of food back. This McDonald's is not in a good part of town. I came here with a friend. He ordered his food and paid and then I ordered my food and paid. We both sat down after making our drinks. We were planning on eating there. A short time later, an employee brought out my friend's food. I waved her down as she was calling out the contents and she brought it over to us. He starts to eat his food. After a while passes I get really curious as to where my food is. I was number 123 (easy to remember). I heard 125 being called and then was really concerned. I went up to the counter. I flagged down a gentleman, showed him my receipt, and asked if he knew what happened to my meal. He didn't really answer but he did tell the people in the back to make my food. It took some time to get my food after that. I think what happened was that someone else took my food, another customer, possibly someone really hungry with no money. So my order was no longer in their queue so it took a while for them to get organized and get my food cooked. When it was finally ready, a young lady brought it out to me. I asked her if they remembered my small fries and she said she gave me a medium fries. That was nice of her to do as I did have to wait a long time. My friend was completely done eating by the time I got mine. Luckily it came in a bag and I just took it with me. Overall, the service was actually really good for the circumstances. I think my food was stolen. That's because of the part of town in which the McDonald's is located. It's a nice enough McDonald's though and the staff are accommodating. read more

I have always liked this McDonald's on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston and have been coming here since before I could remember and they have been a consistent and reliable option for quick and quality food. They do McDonald's well here and if you are in this area and hungry and need something fast it is often the best choice available. I always love McDonald's because of the consistency wherever I go. This restaurant is the exception. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! No soap in bathroom (how do employees wash their hands after using the bathroom? No toilet paper, a plastic wet floor sign that I slipped on and almost fell. Oh, and then to the food. Upon ordering there was no sweet tea and no large lids. I ordered a double quarter pounder with a regular bun and was given two patties with no bun. Wtf? Despite its sketchy locale, this McDonald's generally does a good job (aside from the ongoing ice cream machine snafu mentioned in my tip - it's been "broken" for months apparently). They recently invested a good amount of money into completely overhauling this location, everything from the interior of the structure to the parking lot. The employees here are mostly friendly and I haven't had a particularly bad experience here over the past 5 years of working nearby at SPAWAR - obviously this is a semi-popular lunch spot for the area; but I usually only come for breakfast. PROTIP - This is a good Mickey D's, but watch out for any wildlife you will likely encounter in the parking lot. Keep your windows up and doors locked. read more

It doesn't matter what time of day you come here, you will experience the slowest drive thru experience ever. And that's if your lucky enough to get them to answer the drive thru box quickly. Went to this McDonald's at 10pm on a Friday night and after waiting for 10 minutes in the drive thru, gave up.

If I could give half a star I would.. I ordered an iced coffee with my meal and wasn't sure what I actually took a sip of. I asked for no sugar but what it tasted like was some coffee flavored syrup in water maybe? I don't know. But it WASNT coffee. One sip gave me a stomach ache and I threw it away. My husband tasted it and wasn't sure what it tasted like either. Bathrooms were very gross, only one stall actually closed. Food is not so great and people weren't friendly. This is by far the grossest restaurant I have ever been to. The attitude of the employees is as bad as I have ever seen. I had a roach in my food at one visit and got sick another visit. If I could go lower than 1 star, I would. We ended up leaving without food. After sitting in the drive through for several minutes, my husband went inside to order, only to wait again. I work a block away from this McDonalds so for time reasons I often go there for breakfast and lunch. It doesn't matter what time of day it is they never have their mocha/Cafe machines on. I have tried 2 times a day for the past week and half to get an iced mocha cause I don't watch the standard coffee at work and have yet to get one.
