McDonald's franchises down Phoenix way always mess up orders and are not the personable experiences, often opting for machine placed order only inside the actual restaurant portion. Ordered a single egg McMuffin with no meat. Waited 15 minutes and then my order came out; when I went back to the car, the McMuffin wrapper said a different number than the bag. It was a sausage McMuffin with extra sausage... took it back inside and they took the sandwich and threw it away (not sure why they couldn't let me keep it so I could give it to the 2 homeless folks outside?). When she came back with the new one, I open it up in the car and there's a big hair in the middle of it. Just ended up leaving and throwing the whole thing away. Review is for drive thru only as I didn't go inside. Be cautious when entering the parking lot. It is a very busy location and the drive thru lane can be entered from multiple directions. Pretty tight squeeze at times if lots of cars as the line goes right through a lot of parked cars. Service was pretty quick and had our food in no time. Excellent McDonald's, staff was friendly and the place was very clean, and the food, very good, the hamburger I got did taste a little different than I'm used to in Alaska, but that's a good thing. This particular McDonalds charges 50% more money for everything on the menu than a McDonalds down the hill in Phoenix. The ice cream machine turns off automatically at night even though the app still lets you order it. So when you get a deal on the app for ice cream and show up and the ice cream machine is off they do NOTHING to make it better. Then, since you're already in the drive thru and there's a line behind you so you can't get out you have to sit thru the entire drive through for nothing. If they know that the ice cream machine is going to turn off then they should program the app to not allow you to order it. read more

This is a packed McDonald's, always. The rest rooms were dirty and the food is not hot. Takes forever to get your order too. Parking lot is packed and it is one of my least favorite mcdonald's. If it were not so convenient on the way to Pinetop and other places, I'm sure they would not have any customers. read more

Decent McDonald's up in Payson. Stopped for an early dinner with my daughter on the way to the Girl Scout camp up there. The place had been renovated and offered kiosk and in person ordering. The food was good (as McDonalds normally is). My daughter got a 4 chicken nugget kids meal and I opted for a kids cheeseburger meal. (We wanted the toy for her sister.) We also opted for a hot fudge sundae we split. All in all it was a nice location. read more

Place a can get kind of crowded, use the drive through for quicker service. Staff was helpful even when facing some pretty rude customers, but they kept their cool and did their work as fast as they can. The kiosk are a good idea but still not the best use them, they aren't clear what to do after you place your order. Where do you get your drink from, where do I look to know what number my order is. After a 2 Hour Dr. from the valley we stopped at McDonald's for breakfast, using the drive-through we asked the cashier when the lobby would be open and if the restrooms would be open, she said the lobby opens at 11 just ring the bell and someone will let you in, we rang the bell at 11:10 many times finally an angry manager named Antonette answered the door and said the lobby is not open abruptly shut it in our face, she was person I've dealt with in years. We stopped by on our return to the Phoenix area. I ordered two sundaes. It took a few minutes for the crew member to dish up the sundaes. The ice cream machine appeared to be almost empty. Both sundaes were maybe 3/4 full compared to normal sundae at McDonald's. The sundaes did not have the usual lids placed on top. I was given the sundaes without spoons. When I asked for spoons I was given wet USED McFlurry spoons that still had residual ice cream on them. When I mentioned that they were wet and dirty, the crew member argued that the spoons were CLEAN!!!! I inquired for some new spoons and I was told that these were only ones that were available. Meanwhile, the crew member disappeared, and my ice cream started to melt. A few minutes later, I finally asked if we could have some packaged forks to eat the sundaes with. I was given those, but the ice cream was already pretty much melted. If it was possible to get this McDonald's a zero star, I would've done so. I really am surprised that someone at that store did not have the common sense to possibly go buy a package of spoons from the Safeway grocery store that is located in the same parking lot. We visited this McCD's on a family road trip and I was pleasantly surprised. I love ordering online with big pictures of the food. It was swamped, wet and crazy but the employees remained calm and helpful. Everyone loved their food and the conveniently clean restroom. WiFi was FAST and helpful for stop. Recommended!! read more
