Absolutely disgusted with this McDonald's. I ordered a Reese's Mcflurry on the app, got to the McDonald's and they did not have that so switched it to an Oreo, no big deal I was fine with that. I had paid almost $4 for a medium Mcflurry with hot fudge. They handed me a tiny cup half full of oreo Mcflurry and no hot fudge. When I demanded my money back they gave me $3.28 back. This McDonalds by far is the absolute best when it comes to the cleanliness of the restaurant. The style of it is beautiful and fits the Payson look. Although, it was pretty. ITS WAY OVERPRICED than other McDonalds. Which I thought was very strange. Many people standing in line complained all together to each other because of how overpriced it was compared to other ones. I hope whoever owns Mcdonalds comes down to Payson, AZ to give Dorthy and their crew an award for the best customer service I have ever experienced. Me and my family got caught in town because of a blizzard and Dorthy made us feel at home and like we belonged. Dorthy, we will never forget you and thank you for being so kind to us in a time when we were all very stressed/frightened. Our home will always be in Payson, AZ McDonald's because of Dorthy. Stopped mid day to grab a drink and use the restrooms. Door was locked. A customer leaving opened the door for us. Went in and was greeted by we aren't letting other customers in as I tried to open the door for another customer. Asked why the doors were locked and was told we are short handed. There was no sign on the door as to why or if there was a COVID reason to restrict customers. Was given drink cups and coke was flat and ice cream cone was like ice milk. Poor visit all around. This is my last time at this McDonalds and for that matter maybe any McDonalds. What is with the rotating menu. About the time you decide what you want the menu flips. So you wait till the next time it pops up, people behind you are wondering what my problem is. Ridiculous. What's the point. Complained to the clerk and her response was that it is terrible and that everyone complains but management won't do anything about it. Other problem is that in order to get back on Highway 87 to go back to the Phoenix area you need to go over 5 or more speed bumps to get to the light that allows a left hand turn. Stopped in this location on the way back home with my family. I ordered a couple sandwiches, drinks, and two burritos. Everything tasted fine except I didn't receive the second burrito that I paid for. I didn't realize until we were on our way home that I was missing something. I know it's only a dollar for one of those but still sucked because one in the family was left without their breakfast snack. Also the womens bathroom was a wreck. I understand you get a lot of traffic through there but the sight of whatever it was in the sink was pretty gross. So ... it's taken me a while to get adjusted after vacation... now that I have time I wanna write a review. TEAM DORTHY all the way. I was driving back to Colorado with my family from Phoenix and ended up getting stuck in Payson due to road closures. We stopped by McDonald's to grab breakfast and come up with a plan. The restaurant was clean , and the design was pretty sweet . It reminded me of a hunting lodge! We ordered our food and a woman came to check on us and our order... little did we know we would be blessed with an angel who we've deemed Aunt Dorthy. Her customer service was phenomenal!! We really hope she gets the opportunity to see these Yelp reviews. She was very helpful and hospitable! I don't know ...we all felt at ease after speaking with her. And guess what ... it wasn't just us. She touched every table and kept people informed and positive. Dorthy was so awesome we that stopped by McDonalds again and had to say good bye the next morning ( through the drive thru) !!! Horrible service, food was cold, employees sitting at back table talking loudly while we were eating and then when we went to use the bathroom the old man had to go clean it telling us he had been waiting a long time to get into it after we witnessed him talking and laughing with the employees for 20 minutes with a mop in his hand. Very unappetizing to have someone standing there with a mop while you are trying to eat. He could have allowed us to use the bathroom before he cleaned it since he had been standing around doing nothing for 20 minutes. I'll be sure not to stop here again. read more

We hit the drive through at 10 pm on a Tuesday night and there were 5 cars in line. It took a while to get to the window, but I have to say how impressed we were once we got there. The lady at the window apologized for the wait and casually mentioned she was the only one working. THE ONLY ONE?!?! This location has ONE employee, taking orders, making food, handling money, and serving orders! And she was handling it like a pro! I didn't catch her name, but they need to give her a bonus or some type of recognition. I don't know how many other people would be able to do all that without looking and acting like a complete stressed out maniac. In fact, I don't know many employees who wouldn't have just turned the lights off and said "no way". This mcDonalds really need to have at least 2 people there - but certainly wanted to give props to the woman keeping the line going last night. I have never had a worse experience at any establishment in my entire life. Every single part of our order was completely wrong. I ordered a large Coke, they gave me Dr. Pepper. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese, but there was no bacon to be found. I ordered five hamburgers with mustard pickle and onion, and every one only had a pickle on it. They were dry as a bone. The fries were fair but the Big Mac's were cold, had onions after ordered no onions, cheese was cold so obviously unmelted, and they had one pickle slice. Unfortunately the poor quality seems to be consistent at most McDonalds I have visited in Chandler and Tempe as well. They precook the meat patties and place them in an inadequate warming tray and the cheese is not melted on the meat while on the grill. While this store is convenient and the only McDonald's in Payson, their prices are licensed robbery! My wife and I ordered 2 cheapo (we thought) fish fillet sandwiches and were punched with a charge of over $10 dollars. Not only did we get ripped off, the people working there were as rude as can be.
