Just left this location today (09/23 around 4 PM), which we rarely visit, and unfortunately experiences like this are exactly why. We ordered chicken nuggets with sweet-and-sour sauce, and the employee specifically asked which sauce we wanted when I placed the order. We waited for our food, which is understandable, but when I asked where the sauce was, the employee said, "Oh, I put the sauce in there." Clearly, he did not. When he went to get the sauce, the bin was completely empty. So how could he have put two sauces in the bag if the bin was empty to begin with? What was even more frustrating was that while we were waiting for our food, there was plenty of time for the bag to be prepared and for someone to realize the sauces were missing. Instead, the employees stood around looking at each other with no sense of urgency. To make matters worse, the employee who went to the back to get the sauce never returned. At that point, I was tired of waiting and left with a different sauce simply because I didn't have the patience to continue waiting for something that should have been included with our order in the first place. read more

I come here often (convenient) and don't expect much since it is fast food. Normally I would rate this location a 3/5 but today they had an utter fail. Tables were dirty as usual (it was lunch time, so I know the cleaning person can't keep up, but I didn't even see a cleaning person like I usually do.) Ordered a filet o fish. Now, McDs has reduced the cheese slice to a half slice for a while now (not this location, but McD in general), which is terrible. So I paid the 99 cents for extra cheese. My sandwich came, I opened it, and the fish patty and top but were half off the bottom! I opened the sandwich because it didn't look like there was extra cheese (even though the label and receipt did say xtra). Took it back to the counter, server (I think actually the cashier returning back to her station) I told (with sandwich in hand) simply turned to the actual staff who handle the food orders and I explained again. She took the open box with the sandwich and returned with the "extra" cheese slapped in it. Sandwich was still lopsided (didn't even bother to center it) and gave me back the box. NO ONE apologized for the error (has happened here before for another order error in the past). By then my sandwich wasn't hot, and the indignity of it all - the extra was just a half slice of cheese... At least the fries started off nice and hot, but of course they were cooled by the time I sat down to eat. At least hubby's Big Mac was ok and he got to enjoy the hot fries. Happy Meal... Literally as I had a must travel to Pearl City as it's usually too far for me at the moment as my car isn't feeling to great but did so right after work as Yelp got me here with routes to avoid heavy traffic was easy. Not wanting too much I decided on a Happy Meal and I don't have much pics since I used their drive thru it was so fast no cars in line which I can see why as I approached to order the staff asked if I was using their app...uuuhhh yeah! I wasn't prepared for it though I knew I wanted the discounted offer for the Happy Meal as soon as I gave it to her she confirmed it and proceeded with my order and since my card was linked to the app nothing else was needed and got my order in light speed lol! The current item was the cutest Croc in its own box but having a deal on something hot and fresh as the fries was fresh out of the fryer this location's vibe made this kid happy. My son in law and I used the kiosk to order food inside. We both ordered the Hawai'i local deluxe platter and they provided us an in store $4 discount so that was awesome. I had to bring my dad to get his colonoscopy early in the morning across the street so I had some time to kill and I needed breakfast. This McDonald's is conveniently located right across the street from where he was getting his procedure done. They had a new spicy sausage McMuffin with egg so I got that as the meal deal. Tasty, a little bit spicy, pretty mild for those of us who like things very spicy. It is more expensive than the regular sausage McMuffin with egg meal which is $7.99. The spicy version is $9.98. Not sure if it's worth the extra two dollars to have spicy sauce on. Since I had time, I ate my meal inside the restaurant. It was fairly early in the morning, so it wasn't too busy, tables were clean, air-conditioning is nice, and free Wi-Fi to boot. Service was fast. read more

I ordered 4 double cheese burgers with extra mayo 4 mc chickens 10 pc McNugget meal and filet o fish meal at the drive through. I ordered a meal from the McDonalds on Kamehameha Hwy in Aiea. I added their new McFlurry, just to try it. It was a dripping mess with ice cream running down the sides. They don't wipe tables after people leave. No sprays around to use like other McDonald's. Also, this McDonald's mean business. Not friendly, just business. Don't ask them about toys because they didn't care that my toddler had 2 toys in her hands and I just wanted to check if they had another one I would have purchased a happy meal -- but not even a split second she says "oh no we don't they are all mixed" -- hmmmm? The orders in front are fairly small as well, so idk what was taking so long. My mcdonald's app had enough points to redeem a quarter pounder with cheese burger, but as i kept refreshing it, it still kept saying "only available during breakfast" but it was 11:25 pm. I asked the lady who i was ordering with if i could redeem it still since it kept saying breakfast only and she told me to refresh my app and i did, several times. So i just said f it and i ordered the damn meal and just payed for it since she never like accommodate it. I have children, and when a rugrat is involved in the food decision-making, McDonalds ALWAYS enters into the conversation in one way, shape or form. Besides the fries, the best asset at McD's is their consistency - both with their menu and generally their prices. We live in Honolulu, so compared with the rest of the USA, our "dollar" menu fluctuates between $1.50 and $2.50, but still this is a relatively inexpensive way to feed young mouths that can afford the extra calorie intake. This location - newly renovated by the way - is a great option after dragging the kids to Walmart, Sam's Club or Home Depot. Consider it an award, or just bribery for their good behavior. The service was consistent, and they managed to get the ENTIRE order correct. Yes, even the hamburgers with NO pickles and extra ketchup. Like most fast food joints, this McDonald's was right on par with most . . . a solid average, which isn't too bad given some of the junk out there. read more
