I sat in the drive thru for 15 minutes until the two cars ahead of me left. I sat there another 10 minutes second in line. I finally drove around and there was no one at the window. I asked if the speaker was broken and their response was "Our drive thru is down". My response was "don't you think it would be a good idea to let your customers know?!" Slowest McDonald's in recorded human history. Stopped by for coffee on my drive from Nag's Head to Charlotte. Team is clearly incompetent. Took 25 minutes after we ordered to get the coffee. Nice building. Service was horrible. There was a lot of workers standing around. The manager made no effort to make anything right. It took 20 or 30 minutes to get our order. My nephew ordered an ice Carmel Mochiatto and it wasn't even close to that. The cup was only half full when they gave it to him. Orders were wrong. Horrible. read more

Years ago I was a mystery shopper and as part of my job I had to time how long each step takes, order to pay, pay to pickup window and time left window. I came here for breakfast, albeit there was only five minutes left for breakfast time. Well, when I got to the ordering speaker, they said " well be with you in a moment." They then proceeded to wait until lunch time to take my order so I couldn't get breakfast. (10/7/2017) we stopped in for a pit stop, coffee and breakfast to go on a Saturday morning road trip. Holy crap, the entire town must've been hanging out there. It was jam packed with either locals hanging for their morning coffee break before stopping off at the Piggly Wiggly, or tourists road tripping on their way in/out to the beach. The entire high school ROTC was there there, and man, can those kids eat. Predominantly the line was held up filling their order, but good for them. It took a long, long time for our order, but it was piping hot. Coffee took a while to get to me, don't know why. Bathrooms were filthy. Parking lot entry and exit crosses drive thru paths, a logistic disaster. Location is on the way out of Nags ahead, that's its saving grace. read more

Very slow. Unorganized. I ended up ordering twice (the first time I forgot to get sliced apples for the kids). The first time there was just a lot of waiting for people to go back & forth. It was actually kinda impressive how inefficient everything was. The second order was a glorious display of apathy. Do not go here! DOESN'T deserve ONE star! LAZY unfriendly staff who have no clue about customer service or the definition of FAST food. My food was literally THROWN together. AND there was no toilet paper in the restroom but a FRESH stack of napkins tossed on the TP holder for me to wipe with! No joke! But then I had to wait 5 minutes to get some napkins from the girl at the counter when I asked for them. No dispenser for napkins, salt, straws...had to ASK for them all! Wow how clever of them to not give receipts today . Ordered the two for five special while traveling took a while to get waited on 130 today not the lunch rush and got our stuff to go. In the car found my Quarter Pounder to be acceptable but the wife's Big Mac had no lettuce, she went inside to get it Fixed when the lady said we are out of lettuce. Then Big Macs should be sold out or tell your customer we are out of lettuce. No receipts in bag so you can't send in a bad review or get a free sandwich for your trouble and a Food Lion is fifty feet away and any idiot can shred lettuce ????? read more

After leaving OBX because of Hurricane Arthur, we needed a quick bite for breakfast. There really isn't much out here other than fast food so McDonalds it is. It was packed...lot was full, drive-thru was all backed up. Get inside & order line is all backed up. Lots of employees in back but only one register open & it's slow slow slow. Food was "McDonalds quality". Coffee was good. Workers were friendly just really disorganized. Flies everywhere...in seating area, order area, prep area...yuck...hence the 1-star. read more

Whether you're passing through or are a local, don't expect "fast" food. Service is not good - orders are sometimes wrong and often prepared very slowly, so when you finally get your food you may be more irritated than hungry. If you only want a refreshing cone of ice cream or sundae, it is likely that the ice cream machine is "broken," especially at night. I love McDonald's, but I steer clear of this one. This McDonald's is the worst I've ever visited. They're always disorganized and very rude. They messed up twice, neglecting to give me everything I ordered. The second time I approached the counter, the cashier rolled her eyes at me. She was also very rude to the gentlemen in line behind me, shoo-ing them away with her hand when they made a complaint about their order. Discovered they had no changing table and the place wasn't very clean. From now on when we go out that way, we will be avoiding this place. read more
