The is a nice tavern near the waterfront. Sad that there wasn't any fried shrimp on the menu, although it was on the website menu. Sundae was our server, she was very nice. While service was not provided by Katie, she was amazingly attentive to all tables, she removed our discarded plates, took orders while taking cups to refill from other tables. Great food and service, we always get seated quickly and the food is some of the best downtown. 8 TVs with different games 12 beers on tap and even more in bottles / cans. If you're in edenton you have to check it out! Only draw backs from it being 5 star are it's often a decent wait for food, and they charge $1 for soda refills (which is kinda ridiculous) and puts you in a bind when waiting for your food if you don't wanna pay for a refill. Food was amazing. Restaurant was nice and at first our waitress seemed very kind, but then when we were asking questions about our bill which they charged us extra for everything, she kinda got a little attitude when we didn't understand something, and then when I asked to speak to the manager, she told me she was the manager in a very snoody tone. And then she was talking to us like we were stupid. That's the only reason I will not go back to the restaurant. I don't care how good their food is. Plus charging a dollar extra for childs drink refill is absolutely ridiculous. Its not like they are drinking specialty drinks, it was tea and soda. I wouldve been ok with that, but when we had 6 extra dressings added to our bill, but only got 3 and when questioned the waitress/manager (she so claimed) said that 6 extra dressings where 3 dressings. The math isnt mathing. And then explained to us again like we are dumb.. it rubbed me the wrong way, and sadly though even though the food was absolutely delicious, and the place was very clean and inviting, i will not be going back. I would rather had crappy food and bad atmosphere then to have a waitress belittle me and try to say 3 is the same as 6. We stopped in for a early dinner on a saturday night. We were seated quickly and our appetizer of fried pickles came very shortly afterwards. They came with a tasty house made dipping sauce. DRINKS - Tons of beer options. - Shirley temple was good (You can also request to make it "dirty" if you'd like - Some kind of vodka would pair well). APPETIZER - Get the Bone-In Chicken Wings (Carolina Dry Rub) and you will not be disappointed. - They also have "Boneless Wings" if that is more of your thing. Personally, not a fan of em' and never will be -- It always comes out too cakey and/or too much batter, which is distracting to the true star...The protein. ENTREE - Edenton Steak Sub is a must! Thank goodness for the Governor's Pub! Evidently the town of Edenton closed down on Sundays - no open tourist sites, shops or restaurants! Luckily we came across the Governor's Pub and were able to get something to eat. We had a pizza which was very good. We ended up eating lunch there on another day and it was also good. read more

Waitress kept saying your order is almost up and is next. 20 minutes later came to say our order wouldn't be arriving and said "I can put in another order for you". Not worth the trip at all, the service was slow at 3:00 and the food was sub-par! One persons came out cold the first time and the second time came out burnt and the third time it was cold again (see just ate it).
