I really wanted to love this restaurant, sadly everytime I've tried it, I've been disappointed. I love steak tacos, it's really difficult to mess up a taco. Meat was dry and hard on at least three occasions. Not to mention there was no flavor. With Mexican food you sorta expect a little zip or zing of lime , garlic, cilantro, anything, it's like they don't even try. A nice garlic lime cilantro sauce would be nice. I don't mind paying top dollar for a great tasty taco, but slapping hard slices of beef in a soft taco shell isn't worth it for me. read more

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. On our way to a different location my wife and I stopped here for lunch. The interior Is clean and well organized with appropriate decor As well as music at an appropriate volume. Given the lighting fixtures it is obviously formally a steakhouse however, they have done a good job of turning it into a Mexican restaurant. The prices were reasonable given the locale. The best part of the meal for me was the salsa that came with the chips. The salsa was above average in flavor. The rice while flavorful, was on the dry side. A little more moisture would've made that flavorful rice exceptional. The taco was generous with the amount of meat in the filling. The only issue being that the meat was greasy and under seasoned. The taco while visually appealing was rather bland in flavor and needed something else. Possibly some onion or maybe some cilantro as well as some seasoning on the beef other than salt. The burrito also had a generous amount of filling. The issue with the burrito was that it was greasy and needed some seasoning. The only season in used appeared to be a copious amount of salt it was quite salty. The sauce on the burrito was sparse. It definitely needed more sauce. My wife ordered the fajitas Texas. She stated While the shrimp were cooked perfectly the steak and chicken were overcooked and it was somewhat greasy. There was no defined seasoning on it other than the flavor of a greasy grill. I am rather toying between going with a two or three star because in addition to the food the staff was inattentive. When we came in all of the staff were just hanging out playing on their phones and on a computer and we had to wait until somebody noticed us to get seated. When we were done eating and ready to leave we eventually gave up on waiting on the check and just walked to the register and then had to wait again until somebody looked up from their phone or their computer to see that we were standing there. I will be generous and give this three stars but it really deserves a 2.5. read more

Walked into a horrible smell masked by what seemed like an entire bottle of lysol, terrible service, and food was not great. The queso dip was foamy and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. We stopped here on our way home from OBX. The food was so fast to come out and it was amazing!! Staff was very friendly.

We stopped in to have a snack and a cocktail, the server asked what we would like to drink, and we ordered a beer and a medium margarita about a 12 oz. glass. We tried to order a taco dish but asked for soft tacos, the server went to the kitchen because she didn't know if they could do soft tacos (thought that was a bit odd). Ended up not ordering food so we finished our drinks (margarita was terrible) so we asked for the check. She charged us $15.50 and $8.00 for the margarita, when we asked what the charge was for, she said we ordered a double shot (we didn't) I'm guessing the $15.50 was for the tequila and the $8.00 was for the margarita mix. I have never in my life paid $23.50 for a margarita. Will never go back to this place again...it's a rip-off! read more

We stopped for a late lunch, and had a nice experience. This is a family owned and crewed resturant--a converted former steak house. The facility was clean and colorfully decorated. The waitress was friendly (a teen age daughter of the owners I believe), and the service was good except for one lapse when she became too engrossed in her phone--we were the only customers at 2:45 pm on Wed afternoon. She apologized profusely, and the service was spot on afterwards. My wife and I shared the Chorio Pollo--the food was great and the portion huge. We got a side of guacamole dip to round out our meal, and the dip was very good as well. The prices are very reasonable, and I do recommend this Resturant. read more

Completely disrespectful service. Went there during a lunch break and credit card machine went down. Asked if I could return to pay after work since I was 10 minutes late. Waitress was very rude and apparently expected me to wait for who knows how long for it to come back up. Will not return!! read more

I was extremely upset tonight the person that waited on me was in an extreme hurry I felt like they didn't want to wait on me I ordered my food when she came out she touched my plate to check and see if it was warm enough and it was cold I was not happy with the food whatsoever I paid I think almost 5 dollars for my cheese sauce and it was like wallpaper paste it took me forever to get her to come back and bring me a drink refill I've been here many times and I've never been treated like this I've never seen this woman before I was extremely upset if I go back again I'm gonna tell that one I don't want them to wait on me again my whole dinner experience was awful very very unpleasant I've never had this problem and all the times I've been there this was just disgraceful. read more

Casa Garcia continues to improve with each visit--the past several times I have gone with large groups and the staff has been more than welcoming, food is excellent and generally it does not take long to be seated and served.
