This is a standard McDonald's. It has kiosks for ordering as well as the counter. We ordered thru the kiosk, so our food was delivered to our table. And, as expected, the sausage McMuffin and iced coffee were made exactly the way they should have been. And the frozen Coke was very tasty. I was happy to see that the machine was working. What I found unique was that they announced when lunch was about to start so people could get final breakfast orders in. A facility note: only one of the two stalls in women's bathroom locks. The folks who work here are pretty amazing and every time I come through I get very nice and friendly people which is impressive as to hat they get to deal with. I never have been by here during the day and it seems like this is pretty consistent. This is not a commentary about the houseless and just that it genuinely is a swarm. I go through here a lot due to delivery driving. Just the other night I had one guy who kept slamming his walker into the ground saying 'Can I ask you a question?' harassing me and trying to stand in front of my car while I was in the drive through. I was the only female, from what I could see, in the line. It is just a lot of anxiety as someone who grew up dealing throughout Portland with me and various friends getting attacked for zero reasons by people. If you do need to drop into this spot just be cautious and aware that there are usually people with signs and asking for money and food up against where you are placing your order in the drive through. The staff does try their best to keep it clear and to not have folks walking into the line of cars in the drive through but some nights it is very ridiculous. They have a walk up window which is usually pretty full so sometimes the folks in that will harass the drive through line. read more

Found a place to park and placed my order as I headed inside. Chose a table and updated my order for table delivery. Wasn't too long of a wait, but use the name I put on my order. The food was McDonald's so it was par for the course. I didn't see a soda machine for refills so I asked and was told "Yes, but we charge you for a new drink!" Then no you don't provide refills. You need to put that notice somewhere else as I see it from another posting and it's either in a bad location or it's been taken down. I'd say that info should be in the app and I would have gone elsewhere. Got in my vehicle to leave and just sat for a while as people were coming from all directions and blocking me in. I hadn't been here since before the pandemic (my first review is dated October 2018). They had their lobby closed during the pandemic and for quite awhile afterward. A lot of businesses in between this McDonald's and the Taco Bell on 21st have closed (Una Mas, Chipotle, Next Leval Burger, Wells Fargo, Verizon, Eat Pizza, Flatiron Tavern, Hunnymilk). The Taco Bell still doesn't allow anyone in their lobby. The issue is unruly drug addicted homeless people disturbing the businesses and customers. I first went back to this McDonald's late morning July 21, 2025 and it was nice. No weirdo derelicts hanging around. I was impressed. The lobby was clean and pleasant. I came back around 8 am 2 days later, July 23, 2025 and a homeless guy carrying several big packs of toilet paper passed me on his way from Fred Meyer to McDonald's. Nothing was in a bag so I'm unsure if they were paid for. He walked up the stairs to the McDonald's entry but didn't go inside with the toilet paper. He walked around towards the east side of the building. At the McDonald's, there was another homeless guy sleeping in the lobby and a homeless woman standing outside almost in the drive thru line panhandling. She was trespassing on the store property but the employees left her alone. Probably because the cops don't even come for trespassing calls. I saw a guy give her money and thought "there's her next hit of Fentanyl." Please, stop giving homeless drug addicts money. Buy them food instead. Anyway, it seems better to go here late morning rather than early morning. I haven't checked it out in the afternoon or evening yet. read more

Say what you'll say but I do love this location because of the workers. They've always greeted me so nicely and calmly in the drive thru and window. I once ordered 120 nuggets and they had it fresh and ready for me by the time I came to the window. Yesterday close to midnight, it was the usual, and I ordered a McRib, 2 double cheeseburgers, 40 nuggets, and a large fry. When receiving 2 bags of my food, I proceeded to exit. At the corner light, an employee ran out towards my car and held up a 3rd bag and was scared I was gonna leave without it. Almost missed out on 20 nuggets. They get my love definitely. I was feeling like a little snack would be nice, and since I was in the area (yes another cold mega walk) and could smell that wonderful McDonald's scent... I decided why not? If you get the McDonald's app you will of course be self conscious should someone whose opinion you care about see that you eat McDonald's enough to warrant the need for the app, but you will also save a lot of money! For instance right now, if you order a large fries on the app you will only have to pay $1! Score! They have a walk up window which is part of the drive thru window. The annoying thing is that even with ample time to throw my fries in a bag, they still had me wait forever. I saw that the fries were just there... but the issue was how to put them in the bag I guess? Defeated the point of using the app except for the $1 deal. I dont even know where to start. Wow... Just wow... this was the best thing ive ever had. Impecable service, Great hot food, quality meat brought straight to my table. And dont even get me started on the hot perfectly salted crispy crunchy fluffy fries. Cut to perfection each fry was exactly 2.66mm diameters in size. I ordered a large that just shows you how dedicated mcdonalds is to their craft. The shear girth of the burger. I'm new to Portland and visited this location today to get breakfast around 8:15am. Food was done quickly. However, when I got home, comfortable, ready to eat while preparing for work... I found a horrible unexpected surprise mixed in with my food. I opened my bag, pulled out my oatmeal and my loose hash brown only to also find gauze with dried blood and hair wrapped into a ball. Needless to say, this was highly disappointing. For such a small amount of money, I would have normally just thrown the food away and simply never gone back. But, the level of uncleanliness needed to be known by the staff. This could be dangerous! I have no idea how it wasn't caught. But, I figured making them aware could be helpful for them. So, I drove all the way back to the location arriving closer to 9am only to find their dining area is closed. No big deal... I get that happens. So, I knock on the door to the dining area. Someone knocks back and tells me to go around to the walk up window. However, when I go in the direction of the walk up window, I noticed it has 3 people who look pretty strung out on drugs laying and sitting in a pool of liquid of some sorts. In addition, two more were there holding signs. So, I go back to the door to the dining area trying to explain I'm not looking to order. I simply need my money back because I found gauze with blood and hair mixed in the bag with my food. Two staff workers look highly upset with "me" (which didn't make sense to me considering the situation) and one with zero patience for a customer in need yells that I need to go around to the walk up window. Again, being new to Portland, I let him know its very uncomfortable to have to walk over there because the very small area was filled with what looks like might be drug addicts. He yells again for me to go around while his coworker just rolled her eyes while standing on the inside watching with disdain. Zero customer service from both workers. I uncomfortably walked up to the walk-up window navigating around the liquid on the ground and the people holding signs where two men were also posted on the wall seeming to be very high and very pale... While at the walk up window, I had to wait for the staff to open the window to speak with me. By then, I became more frustrated than I was when I first arrived. I told the woman who opened the window to assist me that I found gauze with blood and hair in my bag of food and that I needed my money back. She shook her head "no" the entire time I spoke, didn't look me in the eye and gave me my money back while saying "That's impossible. That's not possible. How much did you pay?" She also showed zero concern or customer service towards my situation. There was no ownership or apology or recognition of a wrong or understanding shared. I told her I took a photo of what I saw when I emptied the contents of my bag into a plate at home. (I attached that photo to this review.) I showed it to her but she refused to look at it continuing to say "That's not possible." I took my refund and gave her the bag of food the way I received it from them earlier with all contents in it including the gauze. I will not go back. It's a sad situation. Customer service was nice when I received my food in the drive thru area. But, when I returned with a very real and reasonable complaint, I was surprised how concern and customer service was not given at all. I appreciate that this location seems to find ways to be kind to the houseless population. However, as a person from another city who has experienced violence and loss due to violence from someone who houseless, high and/or drunk, being placed in certain circumstances is very triggering and uncomfortable. This location needs to find a better way to be mindful of the houseless population and other customers who may have had experiences that make certain environments very uncomfortable. After this experience, it's hard to trust they are being as clean or as mindful as they need to be at such a busy location that is open 24/7. As of now, I don't see myself going back. For the same amount of money, I can buy a box of oatmeal that will last for weeks instead one morning. Experiences like today take away the desire to pay for the convenience of McDonalds cooking for me when the experience goes the way that it did today. read more

TLDR: The Pros far outweigh the Cons I came here every single morning for an sausage, egg and cheese McGriddle (I miss these) and a large coffee up until my work schedule and location changed. I've been to nearly every McDonald's in the Portland area and this one and the one near the Tualatin WES station are WAYYY better than the rest! I wish I had gotten the employees names so I could shout them out bc they DESERVE it! The food is the same every time, it's hot, and served with courtesy! The Cons: -Drive through ONLY (it's a seedy area) -Lots of homeless, drug use, people begging before and after your order, and sometimes the smell of urine and pigeon poop from providence park will waft over (like I said, it's a seedy area) Despite the cons, I don't mind facing it to receive my hot food hot, and be treated well. This location is in my neighborhood where I've lived many years over my time in Portland. I'm aware of the demographics associated with the area therefore I'm tolerant of issues however, the issue at this location are isolated directly to the managing members. This location gives priority to Uber Eats and pre-order, tickets, those of us waiting on-line to have our orders taken are cast a side to full fill those abscent guest orders. The manager doesn't want to hear any criticism from those of us present and waiting, he is unaware of the kaios that is directly in front of him. He yells at his employees and customers and seems very frustrated. I will no long visit that location if any McDonalds obviously culture is not interested is there in-store guest. read more
