Tea Loft offers variety of tea and toppings. The style of the drink is quite different. I don't like it. Way too much extra stuff in the drink. I barely taste the tea. Brown sugar boba cloud is not smooth. I had some trouble getting the drink out of my straw. And the fact that they ran out of brown sugar boba at 1pm was just crazy to me. It was so sweet that I couldn't finish my drink. My husband also made a similar comment. On the good note, the staff were nice. Very efficient. The place was very welcoming and chill vibes. You can order at Kiosk or at the counter. I guess they trying to do new twist on the tea drinks but honestly not my thing.

Delicious matcha! Earl gray was perfect and the foam just made it come together. Matcha is earthy and I do like the darker green contrast of it. Also tried the guava matcha which was OK. It was my first time trying the drink in general so I won't let it skew my rating. There's a good amount of seating for hanging out. Drinks were made quickly and you have an option of ordering on a kiosk or with a matcha barista.
One of the best iced Matchas I've ever had. I would have never thought to mix matcha and earl gray tea. The balance between matcha, earl gray tea, and vanilla was amazing! The earl gray milk tea was a little stout and not sweet enough for my liking but it was not bad. Definitely will return to try the other matcha drinks!!

Tried the dirty brown sugar brulee boba and was very pleased. They didn't have the regular boba ready but suggested a substitution of crystal boba and even let me sample it to make sure. It was delicious and I'm glad I took their advice! A great way to kill a little time before shopping.

I got the strawberry matcha latte, although I feel like I didn't need the strawberry because the matcha itself was good. The workers were also super nice to every customer. It was very comfortable killing time here.

Tea Loft is a newer boba shop that seems like a popular hangout spot, especially on weekend afternoons, which is when we visited on the way back up to Seattle. On our visit, all the brightly lit tables were taken by patrons, leaving standing room only. Drinks don't take that long to come out, especially since there's no one needed to man the register thanks to the order kiosk near the front entrance. A table opened up for us in the time it took for our drinks to arrive. Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea, Whole Milk, Less Sugar, Less Ice w/ Boba ($7.20) - I was suspicious when I saw they only gave the choice for full, less, or no sweet. Going with the less sweet option, I actually found the drink to be not nearly sweet enough with basically no sweetness in the actual drink. The sugar all comes from the boba at the bottom, clearly soaked for a while in brown sugar. Mixing the boba into the drink still isn't enough to sweeten things up to an acceptable level. I'd compare less sweet here to 25% or 0% sweet at other boba shops. (Note: I usually ask about sweetness at new-to-me boba shops. One of the disadvantages of ordering at the kiosk is that there's no one to help with questions.) The drink itself is pretty rich with whole milk, although the milk flavor blends into the tea quite well. The tea is decently fragrant and has a bit of a bitterness due to the lack of sugar. It's certainly not the strongest tea flavor, but is enough to be pleasing to drink. The boba is a little too firm, especially after being mixed into the drink and cooling down. Not the best texture but not bad. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 Double Matcha Madness, Whole Milk, Regular Sugar, Less Ice ($7.50) - For this drink, the sugar syrup is first dispensed in a layer on the bottom of the drink, followed by the milk, the matcha, and finally the matcha cloud on the very top. The syrup tastes like a corn syrup but doesn't seem to be as harsh as typical fructose syrup. I don't drink matcha lattes very much, so I can't vouch for the quality of this one, but I found it to be delightfully grassy and slightly bitter. The bitterness completely dissipates after all the components are mixed together. The drink is overall very smooth, foamy, and not gritty at all. It's not too sweet even at the regular sugar level. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Tea Loft is a very solid boba shop serving clean, high quality drinks. I would visit again. And as a reminder for myself - make sure to get full sweetness in the future! Bathrooms - One unisex room. Interestingly enough it has a shower in it.

I swung by on their grand opening, a tad later in the day, and as expected they were out of toppings such as boba. But hey, that's to be expected on day 1 so not really holding it against them. I grabbed two drinks to go - the black sesame matcha and the vanilla earl grey. The black sesame was so so good! Had a good roasted black sesame flavor that you could taste with every sip. The vanilla earl grey was not bad by any means either -- though I was partial to the black sesame. The interior is cute though on the smaller side with a few tables, chairs, couches. Service is very friendly and even with a line, they held a steady pace in getting drinks out the door. Prices are fair for today's market and the quality justifies it as well. I now have to return and try their boba and their fruit drinks to give my final verdict! Parking in the area can be tough so plan accordingly!
This store had some really modern interior, with plenty of space to sit and chill. It's popular with the locals as the store was almost full when we came to get drinks on a hot day. They had a variety of drinks including matcha, coffee, fruit tea, milk tea, espresso and few speciality drinks. The staff members were friendly, welcoming everyone and assisting with orders. When we went to register to order the drinks, we found out they were out of bobas, which was a bummer. We ordered the dirty brown sugar tea and coconut mango slush. The drinks were prepared in a short time. But unfortunately I didn't like the taste of either. The coconut mango slush was super icy, barely tasted any coconut flavor. Today was so nice out I decided to walk to Tea Loft for lunch. It called for a refreshing drink. An whoever the girl was who made my drink today it was literally PERFECT! Every ingredient the amount was just right. It hit the spot that's for sure and it was soooooo good. The vibe inside was relaxing too and decorations were simple and cute. I've been here once so this is off one experience. I got the phoenix oolong milk tea but it's definitely not like the ones in SoCal. The flavor was bland, I could only taste a hint of tea. I asked them about it and the girls were nice enough to add some tea for me and a little sweetener afterwards since the tea diluted the sweetness. It's still not quite like SoCal sadly. My bf got the lychee green tea which he liked! The boba was a tad firm... The space is super cute, quiet and has good seating. Cool new spot in the area with new matcha combinations! Didn't stay too long but it's a cozy space and our drinks came out within 5 minutes from ordering from the kiosk. I went with a classic matcha but also tried a milk tea. It was good to be able to customize but wasn't anything too special. Went with the 50% but wouldn't recommend getting the boba itself as it wasn't chewy for my preferences. If you're craving a sweet treat and want it fast you should come check them out. read more

One of the new coffee/boba shops in town that is located in the Mississippi area. I like the interior as it's minimalist and simple. You can order from the machine or in person. When I heard a new tea shop was opening in North Portland, I was excited. My excitement was valid. Tea Loft was a very nice shop with good space to hang out and lots of matcha drinks available. Service was great. I enjoyed my drink immensely as well. I got the double matcha madness and I especially liked the foam. You could tell that high quality matcha was used in the drink. drinks: - vanilla cloud earl gray matcha - 3/5 - there was too much going on (salt cream, earl grey) and overpowered the matcha - black sesame matcha 4.5/5 - it was nutty and so good! only downside was a teeny bit sweet for me so i will def go back and adjust the sugar level next time! service was great ambiance - modern and cozy read more

Such a cute new boba shop! My new fave boba spot in Portland. Love the SoCal vibes and minimalist aesthetic here. Their drinks are great - my faves were the earl grey matcha and the coconut mango slush! They have Minor Figures oat milk and Califia almond milk. Parking around the area was fairly easy. I first found Tea Loft through a TikTok, and I've been hooked ever since. Ive gone a couple of times now, and yesterday I brought two of my friends along to try it too. I ordered the black sesame matcha (so unique and delicious!), and they tried a brown sugar boba and a coffee drink (can't remember the exact name). Every single drink was a hit--super flavorful, creamy and refreshing. We live in Vancouver, and honestly, we'll keep making the trip back because it's that good. Unless, of course, Tea Loft wants to open a location closer to East Vancouver... which would be amazing! read more

Got the chance to see and feel the vibe of the place. Love the space and aesthetic, especially the living room space. The workers also made the place warm and welcoming, which ultimately made it feel like home. I got to try out their Earl Grey matcha, Phoenix Oolong milk tea with boba, and the Lofty Fruity tea which all of them are really good. I stopped into Tea Loft today and tried the Black Sesame Cloud Matcha and the Coconut Mango. Both were seriously so good. The black sesame had this amazing nutty flavor that worked perfectly with the matcha, and the coconut mango was refreshing and just sweet enough. The space is cute, chill, and cozy, and everyone working was super nice. This is honestly the best matcha I've had in Portland, and I'm definitely coming back. read more

Decided to finally try this place out. The vibes there are definitely nice and like all the decor. Tried the matcha blush which has guava, lychee green tea, and lofty fruit tea. I liked the lychee green tea the most and it had whole lychees in it which is a plus. The matcha to me is alright, the guava felt a little too strong for me so I didn't taste much of the matcha. The fruit tea was not bad, had a ton of diff fruit all in one. read more

The vibe is super chill, the staff is always friendly, and the drinks are consistently amazing. If you're into unique flavors, you have to try the Black Sesame Matcha, it's honestly next level. The black sesame blends so well with the matcha, and it's creamy without being too sweet. I've never had anything quite like it. Their boba is always fresh and they've got a solid variety of drinks to choose from, whether you're into fruity teas or something more classic. Every visit feels like a treat. Cute place in Mississippi where you could either hang out with friends or do work. My drinks were made within 5 minutes and the ladies that worked that night were kind enough to offer a bag to put my drinks. I'm a matcha girlie and got their Black Sesame Cloud Matcha. The flavor of both the black sesame and matcha balanced one another out well. But my favorite drink of all time is their Cloud 9 Lavender Latte. Just something about it made me finish it within 10 minutes! Definitely will recommend to everyone to try it out! read more
