Incredible cherry vanilla latte! One of my favorites ever and definitely the best latte I've had in Portland so far! Also, so much space in this location. Beautiful art. Nice baristas. Overall, a great experience:)

Absolutely delicious drinks! The microfoam was perfect, the temperate was perfect, and it tasted perfect. Service was friendly and quick and offered recommendations upon request. I'm a fan! It's spacious and clean inside, perfect for catching up or studying. I saw plenty of people with laptops typing away. There's security outside, due to the area, and he is friendly as well. Great service from door to beverage! I'd love to come back when I'm in town.
Stumptown is probably the most well-known (maybe only well-known but not enough locations that makes it accessible) coffee chain to come out of Portland, so naturally, I had to stop by. The coffee is good but didn't exactly blow me away -- decent, but not something I'd go out of my way for again. I think there's too many other roasters in the area. What stood out more than the coffee was the presence of a security guard at the door, likely to keep homeless from wandering in. The area itself has a good flow of people and feels active, which makes the storefront feel safe -- just don't expect a cozy, neighborhood vibe. Inside, there's plenty of seat but unlike most cafe that I'd seen no one linger. I felt the area needed someone to occupy the nice "lounge area" so I sat and watch the locals come and go for a while. Hehehe. The staff were friendly, but one of them didn't prepare the drink quite as requested--I asked for it lightly sweetened with room left for me to add extra oat milk but neither was done. Oh well.

It is exactly the kind of atmosphere you want when grabbing a coffee in Portland. I also love their progressive approach to dairy; they default to plant based milks and there is no upcharge for them, which is a huge win for accessibility and sustainability. The Cons: Unfortunately, the experience was completely undercut by the quality of the pour. The oat milk curdled almost immediately. I am well aware that Stumptown uses a more naturally acidic brew, which is a science experiment waiting to happen with plant milks, and I know it is technically safe to drink. However, the separation completely ruins the mouthfeel. Instead of a creamy, cohesive sip, I was left with a watery base and grainy floaties. It is disappointing to be told that this is normal when specialty cafes have the tools like barista grade buffers and temperature control to prevent this. While the ethics and the aesthetic are on point, a drink that looks and feels curdled just is not an acceptable standard to serve to customers. Summary: Great people, great space, great pricing, but the technical execution of the plant based drinks needs a serious overhaul.

I was visiting Portland from Los Angeles and Stumptown came highly recommended to me.l by my friends. I had the rose gold latte and it was so subtle and unique. I could taste the rose water in it and the dried flowers on top perfected it. Lots of people in and out while others did their work. The vibe was awesome and the baristas were very cool and accommodating
I couldn't decide between the different summer beverages so I chose a flight! The flight came with Vanilla Cream Cold Brew, Sparkling Citrus Americano, Peach Match Lemonade. Both vanilla cream cold brew and peach matcha lemonade were my favorites. Loved the vanilla cream and how it balanced the cold brew. I also didn't realize how well matcha paired with lemonade. I'd definitely go back. Staff was friendly and the interior is classy, with ample space if you want to hangout.
The atmosphere was welcoming, like some fuzzy socks for cold feet. It was spacious, and the coffee itself was refined.

Our first morning in Portland and a good cup of espresso is what I was looking for. My husband and I walked the very short walk from our hotel to Stumptown and were greeted by smiling and friendly staff ready to take care of you. I ordered my morning usual which is an Americano with a bit of brown sugar (they happened to have some on hand, so thank you for accommodating me). It was bright, fresh and delicious. My husband got his usual decaf Americano and a breakfast sandwhich that he said was very good. We sipped, talked, and got to pet a dog or two. The customers seem known here and the vibes were positive, the espresso delicious!

We came in so that we could eat our donuts and enjoy a drip coffee We ordered 2 "for here" coffees that came in 10 oz mugs, yay for the mugs, boo for the size. I don't recall being asked, but there was certainly room left for cream....which we didn't need. Plenty of places to sit including stools along the windows to watch the goings by as we scarfed down our donuts. The drip was so good I got another to go!
This Stumptown location is a frequent stop for me when I'm in Portland, and on my latest Hood to Coast trip, I popped in again because what pairs better with Voodoo Doughnuts (just one block away!) than a high-quality latte? I usually go for their matcha or a specialty latte and I've found whatever I order to be consistently smooth and flavorful. During my most recent visit I got an iced matcha latte. Prices are steep but this is specialty coffee in Portland so it seems...normal. There's always security at the door, which feels a little odd at first, but I appreciate that they have clean, accessible bathrooms for customers. Solid vibes, great coffee, and always a good pick-me-up before or after exploring the city!!!
We receive/purchase beans from Stumptown all the time! In California, many coffee shops thrive off of Stumptown Coffee Beans, so of course, we had to include a Stumptown Coffee Shop on our itinerary. A very kind security guard opened the front door for us and greeted us with a very big smile. Inside, the cafe is HUGE! it stretches out towards the back and has fun flyers and posters. Very clean and smells like coffee beans! I tried their rose gold latte and my fiancé asked for their cherry vanilla latte, both seasonal items. It was strong and tasted exactly as described. The workers here were kind and patient. Totally worth a stop for a good cup of coffee. read more
Try: Cold Brew! Why: Nice morning jolt of coffee with their Cold Brew paired with some Voodoo Doughnuts from next door! An iconic Portland combo. Notes: I came at opening on a weekday and was the second customer so no wait. They did have a security guard at front door. Very clean spacious interior with neat art, decor, and good amount of seating. Workers were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Great way to start my day! read more

I ordered a vanilla iced latte with oat milk... and accidentally unlocked a higher level of existence. This is not coffee... this is nectar from the gods... handcrafted by angels who clearly got promoted after making this. I took one sip and immediately started reevaluating my entire life. Cleveland... I love you... but Portland might have custody of me now. At this point I'm ready to pack my bags, fake a new identity, and build my whole morning routine around this drink. Please... just go ahead and take my money. All of it. I don't deserve financial stability if this is what it tastes like. read more
Stumptown is a chain I saw all over Portland, and there was one close to our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. We got a regular latte, though their seasonal drinks looked really good. The cafe was a bit small, with limited seating available. Service was super quick, and overall, it was a solid latte, nothing extraordinary, but it did the job. read more

Stopped by this location as we were heading back home, I can always depend on a very bold Americano from Stumptown Coffee Roasters. The customer service was great at this location, and also very efficient. Portland has so many great small craft roasters, do explore and try local like Stumptown; I highly recommend! read more
Since Stumptown originated in Portland, Oregon, I really wanted to try it -- and of course, the coffee did not disappoint! I asked the barista if she could make me an iced cortado (they normally only offer it hot), and she kindly made it for me anyway. The drink was excellent, and the service was even better. I felt so bad because I accidentally pressed "no tip" instead of the other amount option, and I didn't have any cash with me. I'll definitely make it up next time! read more

A sample to the Portland Scene is great coffee and Stumptown Coffee Roasters is a huge reason why the scene is so vibrant and amazing. We had the nitro cold brew that tasted like a chocolate Guinness and the latte which was mind blowing. Service was polite and friendly and not pretentious at all. Stumptown is a 10/10... the area surrounding the location needs a lot of work. There is a security guard at the entrance... Portland needs to change some stuff quickly. read more

I absolutely love Stumptown Coffee! I was in town and saw on local social media that they were doing a 'Coraline' themed experience for a limited time. It's located in the downtown area and they had a big security guard that opened the door for me when I walked in. What great service! The drink I had was delicious. It was the maple latte. I didn't order one of the Coraline themed drinks but I heck, I was really enjoying my drink and the vibe of this Stumptown coffee place. read more
I went to get a rose gold latte. I love how oat milk is the primary milk. I love how spacious this cafe is with lots of paintings on the wall and cool furniture. It was chill to do some work in this environment as it's quiet. read more

Came here since this was the OG stumptown coffee roasters! Service was nice and friendly! Drinks were good and place was spacious! Had their Jacobsens salted maple and it was good! Good spot to stop by but at the same time wasn't really blown away or anything! Still solid! Street parking read more

First time trying stumptown coffee and wow incredible! My husband and I both tried seasonal drinks and they were both equally amazing. The inside of the shop is very modern and vibey. We had to stop at stumptown in the airport on our way out not as great as this location but still good. read more
Quick Summary: - Plenty of space to relax and enjoy coffee - The seating space is stretched out so guests aren't close together (creates more relaxing space) - Coffee is sour We went to this cafe in the summer time. We didn't know at the time, but there was a Coraline collaboration. Inside, picture frames line along the walls, of concept art illustrations of the film. During that time, there were also Coraline inspired merchandise, which included mugs, posters, and stickers. Throughout Portland, I saw a few Stumptown cafes -- even the one at the airport -- they offered merchandise. However, the experience of seeing the illustrations on the wall was only felt here. (There was one more Stumptown branch but it was off-work hours so I couldn't get to see inside) The atmosphere is very peaceful. When we arrived in the morning, the sunlight rays were shining lightly inside the thick windows. There were tables, chairs, and couches scattered in distances that provided comfortable personal space and socializing. It was very relaxing. Outside, it could be due to the location, but you are greeted by a security guard. I didn't observe anything odd on the way here, but this neighborhood is run-down, so I've seen homeless encampments and dwellers lingering about more often. In terms of coffee, it's sour. It's not a favorite flavor for me to drink on its own, so I requested mine as a latte to have more milk in the drink. read more

Stopped by this cute little shop for a caffeine fix. Ordered a S/F vanilla latte and a small house drip coffee. The shop is cute and had more than enough space to hang out. I got my coffee within 5 mins. Customer service was good. Beware, there are lots of homeless around the area. I don't mind them but I was with my 7 year old who was frightened by a man outside the shop screaming bad words. Coffee was just OK to me. Nothing special really. Next time I'm in town, I'd love to try their baked goods. I didn't get a chance to try any since we had stopped over this coffee shop after picking up donuts from Voodoo down the street. read more

"A café that totally lives up to its reputation as one of the top 3 coffee spots in the U.S., their nutty latte flavor is on point" Food: I got an iced latte, and it did not disappoint. Honestly, one of the best and creamiest lattes I've had in my life. I was actually sad watching it disappear as I drank it. Service: The staff was super friendly and kindly explained the milk options, which I appreciated. Ambiance: The space is cozy but roomy enough to get some work done. Super friendly staff! Also saw they had great interactions with some regulars. Came around 9am and it was pretty empty. Pleasantly surprised that they had security at the door; he politely opened the door for us as well. We felt a bit safer parking on the street (2hr paid meter) in front of the cafe. Loved the interior and ambiance; music wasn't too loud. There is a cute little "pride library" next to the water station. Lots of outlets lined the wall opposite the coffee bar/counter. Wifi is on the slower end, but still a great place to do some light work, study, or hangout with friends. I got a hot 16oz Matcha Latte, but I forgot to get it for here. Probably rate it around 3/5? I forgot most matcha lattes aren't sweetened, so I added some sugar myself. They also sell a variety of pastries and sandwiches. read more

We grabbed VooDoo doughnuts and were looking for coffee, so of course we had to stop by this PDX staple. This Stumptown had a great selection of coffee and souvenirs to purchase. The coffee selections were great -- I highly recommend the flight. The ambiance of the place was simplistic and great - very hipster and millennial. The service could have been better though. Any question I asked seemed like an inconvenience. The workers seemed less than enthused to be there. Not the nicest customer service. read more

Such a cute, spacious coffee shop. Plenty of individual and group seating that is well spread out to allow guests to set up shop to study/work or chat with one another. Helpful baristas & delicious coffee with a wide variety, including vegan options! I look forward to going back in the future. read more

The store is quite spacious with indoor seating. Very welcoming vibes when you enter. They even have someone opening the door for you. Tried their seasonal item - spicy strawberry mocha.
