I was surprised that positive reviews exist for this place. I am ashamed to admit that I have come to this branch hundreds of times despite having had more negative experiences than positive ones. I guess the distance convenience somehow outweighed the hardships and I was conditioned to lower my expectations for several years. They had me trained to expect long wait times, to expect incorrect orders, to expect substandard service, to expect that their Management would count on the brand to carry them through so it didn't matter to say a word to anyone about the constant mistreatment. To say that my last experience was a back breaking straw would be an astronomical understatement. After multiple mistakes were committed by the staff with my order, I was belittled by the manager for holding up the line. Before coming to a complete correction, I was dismissed and the manager refused to speak with me. Thereafter, I was made to feel like I was being an aggressor. I accept this place has all the power. I accept that I have no recourse and must swallow the abuse that I have allowed. I accept that the business has no care for their guests. One of the best McDonald's in Reno. With that being said, it's still a McDonald's, so don't expect too much from this chain. The establishment is well maintained and clean; the staff are hit or miss with friendliness, but they're usually nice; and the food is what you expect: fast, cheap, and not that healthy. The food here tastes like any other McDonald's. It's very consistent, especially the fries! Mmm fries! I also like getting the hot fudge sundae, and anything from the breakfast menu is good too. The breakfast menu is served all day by the way. This time around I got the Shamrock Shake. It looks and tastes slightly different from other Shamrock Shakes I've had, but it's still minty (you can definitely taste the artificial flavorings) and it's still way too sweet. I really only get it this (and go to McDonald's in general) since it's been a yearly tradition of mine. Overall, this McDonald's gets the job done. Let's start with we were doing a pick up for an Uber run. We pulled into the lot at 850 the lobby closes at 9 the doors were already locked. Once in line for the drive thru we sat there for a good 15 - 20 minutes. When we were able to get to the front of the line before they even opened the window we were greeted with the back side of a young man who chose to wear his pants around his knees that evening. When the young woman open the window to talk to us her mouth was full of food and we noticed that on the counter where they prep the bags to go out was her order of chicken nuggets that she was working on. Watched her go back and take another bite while filling our drink. When my boyfriend asked to speak with a manager he was told that none were available and asked "what's your problem?" In a very short curt tone. He expressed both of these issues to the young woman who literally shoved the food I. The car at him. As we were pulling away she leaned out the window to yell at us to "have a good night. Don't bother coming back. " At this point we called and got one of the shift managers Eddie on the phone. The only McDonald's I go to in Reno...it's super convenient on my way in and out of town, or I can buzz by for a 20-minute lunch break. They get my order right, treat customers well, and you can always work out your existential crises by jockeying for front runner position in the bifurcated drive-thru. The salads here are always fresh, love the lattes, smoothies, and always, the burgers and fries. If I have time I sit inside and study or catch up on my emails. I am an unashamed fan of McDonald's: despite being guilt-tripped about their accused complicity in rainforest destruction and styrofoam container use in the 80's, to factory farm bitching and sustainable farm-to-fork whining today, this is a business model that rocks: give people what they want in a timely and efficient manner, have consistency, cleanliness, and value. This place needs to replace the entire crew and start over. A year or so ago it was not run this badly. We live a block away so it used to be our go to McDs. NOW it is an atrocity. Tonight I went through the drive though at 10:30pm and I just asked if their machine was working, the employee told me their machine shuts down everyday at 10pm. So NEVER bother to visit the McDs after 10pm if you'd like ice cream with your order. That was just tonight. I have been there when they served us food with mold on it and when I called to report the situation so no one else would risk food poisoning, "Grace", the manager simply replied, "Ok....ok...thank you." And then when I opened the box there were no fries. I'm not sure if anyone reads these for McDonald's but I felt the urge to leave one here. The store is so horrible from the time you pull into the drive-through to the time where you pull out where it makes you never want to visit another McDonald's again. It was around midnight on June 2, 2018 and as I pull up to the drive-through, the guy working the window says "what do you want?" Like no "thanks for stopping in" or "welcome to McDonald's", just "what do you want?" Like this is why you work at McDonalds because you have no desirable skills. No hospitality or customer service skills at all! Or maybe the guy just doesn't are about his job because his pants were halfway down his legs with his fro flying everywhere, no hair net or anything.
