I gave 1 star because of these following reasons. First, service was so slow. I understand that it's dinner time but their curbside pick up is closed and they don't have walk-in orders as well. So I was expecting a faster turn around for drive-thru orders. Second, the food that I ordered was already cold by the time I picked it up at the window. Third, the fries looks like somebody ate it. Our family does not go to McDonald's. Well, we do go but only in March because we have a family tradition of getting 1/2 chocolate 1/2 shamrock shakes around St. Patrick's Day. This tradition started way back when I was little when my mom would get them for me and my siblings as a special treat. When my own kids were little, we continued the tradition! My son is now a junior in high school and today we drove by this McDonald's. Since it is March, we decided to stop by for our special shakes. This location is convenient for us but the drive through service is very slow. Edit 2- 30 minutes. Moved one more car length forward. Same two guys came out to empty the trash again. Only took them five minutes this time. Sure glad the garbage is empty even though none of us can get our food. Edit 1- 25 minutes and we have finally moved forward one car length. We did see two guys leave to empty the garbage can. It took them 12 minutes. I've been stuck in the drive thru for 20 minutes. Both walk-in and curbside ordering were closed so I attempted to get my mobile order through the drive thru. Some people really should be fired from this location. And if not fired, then audited randomly so they might actually get properly trained for customer service. Almost every single time I go to this one, there's always issues and/or incredibly rude staff. They completely ignore the people up front, especially delivery drivers/mobile orderers. I work as a DoorDash driver and they will just ignore you completely even when your order is sitting right across from the counter, completely bagged and everything. The staff in the drive-thru can't even smile or say hello/have a nice day, probably because they're depressed teenagers working overtime on minimum wage(that's mostly the company's fault), and they probably get crap thrown at them by bad customers each day. Speaking of customers, as one, whenever I get McDonald's delivered, the food is almost always wrong/missing something. Yknow what the second worst thing is? When I didn't get the sauce I paid extra for, or the straws for my drink/s. I know I'm just complaining at this point, but I am FED up. Yknow what the WORST thing is? Came by for a coffee before my daughters swim practice. The line was super slow so I was able to observe for a good 10 minutes. Let me preface this by saying I'm a serveSafe instructor. The young gal working the drive trough and making the coffees had an abnormally large hoodie jacket on (yes, I know it's cold out) which in the span of 10 minutes she had to remove the edge of it out of the Ice, the syrups, the stirrers, and everything else at thigh level every 10-15 seconds. The issue is that the hoodie wasn't clean. Let's be honest how often do we truly wash jackets? How often are they worn into restrooms? Brushed against car doors? The are harbors of filth and germ. They weren't open not interested in education on such so I'm bringing it here. Maybe a better fitting jacket that could be zipped and washed that is only worn in the restaurant would keep your patrons safer. read more

I haven't been to this McDonald's in almost 3 years even though it's near my house. The last time I went was at the beginning of covid when the lobby was closed and the only way to order was waiting in the drive-thru. And boy, was it a wait. Not to mention, when I finally received my food, it would be cold from sitting around waiting for my car to reach the second window. And 9 times out of 10, the order would be wrong. Tonight my daughter was craving a filet o' fish so we went to McDonald's for the first time in a long time. That all being said, I was really impressed. The dining room was open and I was able to walk right up to the register at 6:15 p.m. to order our food. The cashier was friendly and there were lots of young people bustling around getting what looked to be drive-thru and Uber Eats orders bagged up. I'm not saying they were organized, because they weren't. But they were staying busy. The dining room and restroom were clean. My only complaint there was the dining room was chilly, but it wasn't unbearable. Our order came out in good time. We ate in the dining room and our food was fresh and the fries were hot. And did I mention the ice cream machine was working? Because it was. So after eating the best double cheeseburger I'd had in a very long time, I washed it down with a hot fudge sundae. I was surprised that positive reviews exist for this place. I am ashamed to admit that I have come to this branch hundreds of times despite having had more negative experiences than positive ones. I guess the distance convenience somehow outweighed the hardships and I was conditioned to lower my expectations for several years. They had me trained to expect long wait times, to expect incorrect orders, to expect substandard service, to expect that their Management would count on the brand to carry them through so it didn't matter to say a word to anyone about the constant mistreatment. To say that my last experience was a back breaking straw would be an astronomical understatement. After multiple mistakes were committed by the staff with my order, I was belittled by the manager for holding up the line. Before coming to a complete correction, I was dismissed and the manager refused to speak with me. Thereafter, I was made to feel like I was being an aggressor. I accept this place has all the power. I accept that I have no recourse and must swallow the abuse that I have allowed. I accept that the business has no care for their guests. I went here to get my free teacher breakfast that was advertised online. I dropped my kids off early and jammed to McDonald's to pick up my free teacher breakfast that was advertised everywhere for the week of October 11th-15th. When I got to the front of the line and ordered the woman told me "sorry but that only goes until 8." I double checked online and nowhere did it say that it only goes until 8 (mind you I got there at 8:10 because my school starts at 8:30 and after having to wait in line for 5mins, I then had to wait in line for another 5mins just to get out of the drive through line and just made it to school right at 8:30. This isn't your usual review, but I firmly believe in complimenting when someone does a good job. I went to this McDonalds this morning, and I only went for a sweet tea. I was greeted by this sweet, soft spoken young man at the pay window. Not only did he do his job right, he was so polite, professional and kind, asking how my day was going. When I get to the second window to pick up my tea, I was greeted by yet another very polite young man, with a big, sincere smile. He promptly handed me my order and told me to have a nice day, the smile never left his face. I can't tell you if the food was good or not, I haven't eaten at this McDees in probably a year or more. But these young men were so professional and kind, I felt I had to say something. Especially in this day and age where millennials are disrespectful and don't want to work. These young men were an asset to the place. I hope they stay like that, they'll go far in the work world. Wish I'd gotten their names, I didn't think. One of the best McDonald's in Reno. With that being said, it's still a McDonald's, so don't expect too much from this chain. The establishment is well maintained and clean; the staff are hit or miss with friendliness, but they're usually nice; and the food is what you expect: fast, cheap, and not that healthy. The food here tastes like any other McDonald's. It's very consistent, especially the fries! Mmm fries! I also like getting the hot fudge sundae, and anything from the breakfast menu is good too. The breakfast menu is served all day by the way. This time around I got the Shamrock Shake. It looks and tastes slightly different from other Shamrock Shakes I've had, but it's still minty (you can definitely taste the artificial flavorings) and it's still way too sweet. I really only get it this (and go to McDonald's in general) since it's been a yearly tradition of mine. Overall, this McDonald's gets the job done.
