The service was extremely slow. We waited over an hour before we got our food while we watched the tables that came in after us get their food before us. Our waitress didn't check in on us so we couldn't order more drinks. We waited for so long that we actually set a timer for 10 minutes and said if we didn't receive our food in those next 10, we'd be leaving. We were happy with our food once it was delivered, but we had missing food items/sides. I'm in the service industry myself so I understand how hard it is to please everyone when things are slammed and you're in the weeds, but there should have been more communication from our server/the staff at least just checking on us. Well waiting 2.5 hours for breakfast wasn't on my list today, but here we are. Was told we had a 30 minute wait for a table for 2, ended up waiting 55 minutes. Got sat waited 10 minutes for our waiter to place a drink order, another 10 minutes to get our drinks and order food all while it's 90 degrees outside. Charming Mexican restaurant with super cute decor. Easy access parking lot w lots of spots. I really enjoyed the eggs Benedict. My husband got the Macho Macho Chorizo plate and it was huge. Definitely shareable, as well as the chilaquiles plate. The chilaquiles were a bit soggy towards the end since they were served over whole black beans, it all mixed together more than I'd like. Had been here one other time and had enjoyed it very much and been meaning to come back. Today we did it. We got there just as they opened, so greeted right away and seated. Fresh coffee, which was quite good. Took a minute for me to decide because it all sounded good, husband made a quick decision on the breakfast burrito. This was quite different for us , he normally takes time and Im the quick decider. I finally decided on the Chicken Fried steak. Very disappointed with my experience. We were seated at an empty table in the corner and weren't greeted or even offered water until about 10 minutes later. Unlike the other tables, ours didn't have basic items set up, so I had to get up myself to grab them. It then took another 10-15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. I know it Christmas Day, but I'm alone and wanted a nice breakfast. I called 2 places in Reno and both were open, I went to the closest one first, and one of my regular places...they were rude and told me I can just wait, if they are still open they'll seat me, look....i know it's Christmas, but I had to work today too! So....i drove 4x as far to go to Gloria's! And I'll drive here again for breakfast any day over the old favorite. In fact, the waitress and the owner were working on Christmas. They were smiling, seated me as quickly as they could and made me feel at home. I was treated like family! Most of the time these mom and pop local restaurants have the best food, prices and service. I've changed my mind about "B. B. Diner"....they are corporate owned and a chain restaurant. I'm just another patron, who visits at least 2x a month....just a number ....not anymore! Based on ratings, decided to try this place out. If I could, I would rate this place a 3.5. Came in around noon, got seated immediately. The tables and chairs are comfortable and nice. Our server took care of our drinks right away and my wife advised iced chai was good. Upon ordering, I explained I wanted no potatoes in my corned beef hash and my wife ordered berry French toast. When we got the order, I was served a huge amount of hash browns under my corned beef. The server was very nice about fixing it. My thing is why add any sort of potatoes when I specified that I wanted ZERO potatoes. She explained that the chef didn't know? Yeah, weird. Once they fixed my order, the plate was very delicious. The corned beef had a sweetness to it and I think that's what made me really enjoy it. My wife's French toast was a HUGE serving, I think two people could enjoy this one plate. Issue was the French toast was plated ON TOP of melons, which made the underside of the toast super soggy, not very appetizing. Overall, this place has very good food, it's just the little details that were a little off. We had asked for lemon waters and as the waitress brought out the water, she mentioned out loud that she forgot the lemons and said she would bring some...never did.
