Friday night called for a special dinner, so I made a reservation for two at 5:30 at Dolce Caffè. We were seated by the front window, which is my favorite spot. I love watching the people and cars go by in Midtown while enjoying a great meal. We started with drinks. I ordered the Limoncello Spritz, and wow--it was absolutely out of this world! My husband ordered the Chardonnay, and owner Claudio explained that it's made in the traditional Italian style. Instead of being buttery like many California Chardonnays, it's slightly sweeter and very smooth. After trying my cocktail, my husband decided to order a Limoncello Spritz too, and he ended up enjoying it even more than the wine. We skipped the appetizers and salads and went straight to the main event. I ordered the mushroom ravioli, which I had been dreaming about all day. It was light, delicate, and packed with incredible flavor. My husband, who is from New Zealand, chose the lamb chops. They were cooked to perfection, so tender you could cut them with a butter knife. He paired them with the asparagus risotto, which was delicious but a little heavy alongside the lamb. We ended up taking some home, and next time I'd recommend pairing the lamb with a salad instead. To finish, we shared the large ricotta cannoli topped with chocolate chips. It was heavenly, light, creamy, and it practically melted in our mouths. Honestly, every dessert we've had here has been fantastic. Dolce Caffè continues to impress with its authentic Italian flavors, warm hospitality, and wonderful atmosphere. Dolce Café had excellent service, and the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed my salad, along with all the pastries and desserts we ordered. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and I would definitely come back just for the salad. I'm not sure if the gentleman helping us was the owner, but he was incredibly kind and welcoming. He even offered water and a treat for my friend's dog, which was such a thoughtful gesture. His hospitality really made our visit even more enjoyable. I received an immediate response from Claudio re: my review. I went in the next day and spoke to Melissa about my experience. She listened, explained what may have been the reason for dry lemon blueberry slices, and invited me to try other pastries. Every item I tried was fresh and delicious. So much so, that I ordered dessert for a weekend gathering. I was extremely impressed that Claudio took the time to respond to my review and that Melissa was extremely pleasant and made it clear her goal was to make me a happy and returning customer. Its a super cute shop. Its small in the inside and a good place to take a small group or have a mini date. They had a lotnofnthings sold out by the time we came, but they had a lot of good options to pick from. The portion tonprice is also nice. I had a cannot, I chose large as the price difference wasn't that much. It was a bit crunchy. That filling was what got me though. With the pistachio. Pure perfection. It was a little messy to eat. Came here with my granddaughter and as soon as we walked in I just knew it would be fantastic. The woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. My coffee drink was super delicious, and we were given a delicious cookie too because it was our first time there. I had a chai hot drink and my granddaughter got a iced drink. The place had so many treats to choose from too. It was very clean and comforting when you walk in. It is kind of small which makes it more cozy and friendly. This little cafe is tucked away in Mayberry Landing, in a small courtyard next to Madein. Lot parking is usually easy there, and there are also bicycle racks in the center. Dolce is small, but mighty, with a broad selection of Italian/European pastries and savories. In my experience, Italian bakeries often serve up a sort of colorful but bland, and often dry, range of similarly-tasting cookies. The pastries here are anything but, and there's a really delightful range of options, including gluten-free, from breakfast savories, to doughnuts, to cannoli (chocolate, ricotta, or cream), to cake. I love that I can often find something new to try. The ricotta cookies are not too big and not too sweet. You can comfortably eat there (indoor and outdoor seating) and pair your selections with coffee and tea. Can get a little busy, but service is friendly. They also serve breakfast and lunch, make custom cakes, cater, host private parties, bake holiday pies/breads. Came here for an afternoon pick me up and although the inside is tiny you can just tell it's packed with love! An Adorable family run gem right in the heart of our Northwest neighborhood! Love it! It is a bit small and can get crowded during peak times though. We stopped by after a hike on a beautiful day, so we actually opted to sit outside. Claudio, one of the owners offered a heat lamp, but it was actually not needed. He also offered us a complimentary cookie for being first-timers. Now that's Customer Service. I had the most amazing Croissant Breakfast Sandwhich. It was huge, so I asked if I could just get half and they had no problem accomodating my request. The first thing I noticed when I walked in is how nice the seating area is! We sat in a booth and our drink/cookie were given to us quickly. Wow! I'm in love this place is like a little slice of heaven. Absolute best mocha in town; such a simple drink, but so many places it's too sweet, too bitter, espresso tastes burnt etc. here, it's perfect! Just the right sweetness, smooth espresso, just amazing. The pastries we have tried are amazing. Flaky and delicious croissant (the jalapeño cream cheese one is my favorite!). Finally I was able to snag the salata ai fungi today and wow it's delicious. And to top everything off, the people here are so lovely. They are friendly, kind and provide great service. This location is small but very cozy and has a really nice courtyard. Overall, I will recommend this place to anyone and I will continue to enjoy visiting frequently! read more

Cute caffe for lunch today. Tables outside by a small water feature under umbrellas. We ate inside nice and cool! Very friendly cashier who took our order, bubbly personality. You order at the counter and food is brought to your table. They were very busy so had a wait but not too long. I ordered the Focaccia bread for my sandwich with tomato and turkey. Added Provolone for $1 but they were out so I subbed mozzarella. My friend ordered the chicken salad sandwich but they were out of croissants so she got the salad instead. It was just before noon when we arrived so disappointing they were out of some things already. Our orders came to our table and we were excited to try something new here. My sandwich bread was very fresh and soft but I didn't get the cheese I ordered on it. I checked the receipt and wasn't charged for it so I did without and enjoyed my sandwich still. After our lunch we had to take some pastries home and I was excited to see they had a small selection of gluten free! I got one of each, almond, almond with jam and a pistachio with chocolate. ( I ate them later that evening for dessert and for breakfast the next morning with coffee and they were excellent! I finally came back to Dolce Caffee and am updating my review to 5 stars! I made sure to come in the morning this time so I can have my pick from all of their delicious Italian pastries. They have both indoor and outdoor patio seating. They weren't too busy when I first arrived but they had a long line by the time I was leaving! I spent quite a while talking to the owners which are a mother, father, and their adult daughter; gotta love an Italian family-owned business! My family is also Italian, so I love what they've created here at Dolce Caffe. The father talked to me all about their time living in Sicily and how his wife is there currently. They even get all of their ingredients shipped in from Italy. I got to share some stories with him about when my husband lived in Rome and we spent a month exploring Italy together. I so appreciated the friendliness of the staff and how welcoming everyone was. I was torn between a few different options in their pastry case and they made sure to give me the run-down of some of their best sellers! I was mostly there for a pastry for myself but left with multiple things because I couldn't pass them up! I went with the Raviola for myself which is a sweet ravioli dessert, basically like a cannoli in terms of filling but in a soft flaky pastry instead of a hard shell. It was filled with ricotta and chocolate chips, then covered in powdered sugar. It was incredible! I was sad when it was gone, I easily could've eaten several of those. I got a fruit tart pastry to share with my husband later, it was filled with a delicious custard and had fresh blackberries on top. They even convinced me to get my husband a more savory item for lunch, he was out golfing at the time and they said "trust me, he's going to love it when he gets home." Sure enough, they were exactly right! I got him the Scacciata which had ham, mozzarella cheese, spinach, and red sauce on it. My husband said it reminded him so much of the deli shops he used to visit in Italy and it tasted excellent! They have lots of pastries to choose from but there's also a lunch menu with even more options. Plus they have drinks including coffee, tea, wine, beer, and a few Italian sodas and juices. I got a vanilla latte which paired well with my pastry. Service was fast, prices are affordable, and the staff go above and beyond in how they treat their customers.
