McDonalds is another chain with the same business model from location to loacation. The only thing that really changes here may be some food changes for specials, location and staff. This is another wonderful, very modern, McDonalds. For this reason my reviews will remain the same from location to location with small exceptions. My wife and I had just driven into Rome, NY. I definitely needed some breakfast and this was the perfct place to stop. Great job by the McDonalds team keeping their restaurants fresh, bright, very clean, and a fun place to be. I like the new electronic ordering system (Kiosk) which was a nice addition. Even when ordering, a team member asked the customers if they needed any assistance, and walked them through the process. I use the McDonalds app which always seems to give me a hard time. Honestly, I am not a fan of the app and always seem to have a problem.. Like most locations, they had a big parking lot with an easy entrance in and out to the Main Street. All the food was fresh, hot and tasty. Clearly, McDonalds has developed a good, winning formula. They can't read or count. I even had a mobile order so there was no lack of clear communication. Fries were cold and they didn't even replace the food, they just added what was missing on my sandwiches. No wonder this place barely gets 2.5 stars. At least I got napkins this time. I got a caramel iced coffee from the Black River location and it was DISGUSTINGLY undrinkable. There were grounds in it and it tasted burnt. I understand s*** happens and it was probably just a bad batch of coffee, but I was headed towards this Erie Blvd McDonalds and the manager was so nice and replaced it for free for me! I realize working at a fast food establishment is not desirable so I'm not one to judge but this visit amazed me. I've seen this location busy all the time so I know there must be issues with the logistics. All I ordered was a happy meal for my son. After a 5 to 7 minute wait I pulled up to the window. Young lady said my happy meal would be a few minutes, all the while I'm staring at a happy meal box. After the predicted couple of minutes she picks up the same box and handed it to me. I was stunned. Had my family not been there I would have asked what the mental process is that allows the restaurant to operate like that. And if that isn't enough they forgot our fries. Enjoy The unsweetened ice tea. Staff seems very pleasant. Ordered Happy Meal with hamburger... WOW the hamburger is so thin you can see though it. Never seen a thinner burger. Would be better tho make a slider with a real burger... If you need to save money on your beef. Sure they figure an adult doesn't notice the size of the burger. I always check what my babies are eating...my 5 year old was so hungry we needed to make a sandwich when we got home.. Awful service, took 7 minutes to serve us at the drive thru and when we got to the window our order was wrong and the price was wrong, we were easily there for 30 minutes, the food is ok needs to be better especially for such a big chain read more

Order included a big mac with no mac sauce, reciept showed no mac sauce and yet the burger still had mac sauce. $40 order and all 5 orders of fries were burnt to a dark brown, hard and cold. Waste of my families time and money. read more

I ordered $22.00 worth of food and sat down to eat it. Who would have thought the french fries would be rancid during the lunch hour? I politely asked the girl to please give me some fresh ones ... an older man came out with what were supposed to be - all fresh french fries - NOT! This bag was more rancid than the first one! I thought ... "this truly cannot be happening." So I brought the tray up to show the woman who is the manager there at this establishment ... I told her I was getting sick eating them and how can they serve such trash??? She told me she was going to call the cops on me for yelling in a family business ... and ran to get the phone to call the police on me for complaining. I told her good ... when the cops get here she could serve them the garbage french fries she was serving me ... I was in total dis-belief and so were all of her employees, with the look of shock and awe all over their faces. I will never again eat at this McDonalds on Erie Blvd in Rome NY. The food is good and the establishment is pretty clean for my girlfriend to use the bathrooms and eat at the tables, and also I have a couple of friends that work there as well, also it is Mc Donald's so what do you expect anyways. Enjoy! read more
