I came to this McDonald's location about a month ago and ordered a few burgers and McChicken's and a happy meal for my kid and when I got home, I realized that they had forgotten to put the happy meal in the bag with the rest of the other food today I ordered a couple McChicken's a couple burgers and a fry when I got home I only had one of my burgers in the bag. Came through the drive through on 3/12/2026. Whoever was working the drive through at 12:25 needs to be let go or retrained on how to talk to customers. She wouldn't let me finish was i was saying before cutting me off, i was rushed so fast that she cut me off and closed out my order before i was done, had to ask for what i wanted at the window. She was incredibly rude and my food looked like it was literally thrown into my bag, with zero napkins ill add. There was also a long hair in my burger, i know because i swallowed it and it was stuck in my throat. This is the worst mcdonald's experience ive ever had. After frequenting this West Salem, Oregon McDonald's for the past 15 years I've had had it! I go there every Saturday morning to get my wife and I breakfast and coffee. This location has gotten worse and worse and worse. I am now going out of my way to post this on Yelp because after sending them the below email they decided they weren't even going to show me the respect to email me back to apologize. I say boycott this location until they get their act together. Good morning, I'm not one to complain and you won't find me on file. However, it's important not to ignore this morning and a few recent past experiences that indicate at least your West Salem location is failing. I will start with the one positive, you black coffee is THE BEST!! The negative, waiting for almost 20 minutes in the drive-thru at 0630am is unacceptable. Now I want to acknowledge one of your staff failed to show, but this is a management issue and must be predicted. And again, the below issues are becoming a regular occurrence. Next, the staff helping at the window moved like a sloth and was about as cheerful as a blank piece of paper. This was even after I tried cheering him up with words of affirmation. Finally, and here's the real problem; the food was awful . Both my sausage egg mc muffins were cold, the bread was hard and they appeared as if made the night prior. My wife's sausage and hotcakes came in a hamburger box (see photos). She had to source a paper plate, which was fine because we were home. For anyone eating in their car this would be problematic. The real issue was I was not told this until handed my order. So, I was not given the ability to change my order. Listen, I want you to succeed. Your restaurant employees high school kids, and that's important! But, this is becoming a regular issue and pushing me and my money elsewhere. Please, do better. read more

I went thru the drive-thru 3/11/25 and ordered an ice cream cone. I thought I heard to move to the first window but when I got there, no cashier. The windows were not see thru and there was a sign that said "mobile ordering" so I thought I heard wrong and moved to the last window. I had my cash out and this woman comes to the window and asks if I drove past the other window. I told her no one was there and she proceeded to lecture me... "they were probably washing dishes, so next time just wait there...." I told her to forget it and left. Apparently, it is more important to wash dishes than it is to help a customer. Hands down one of the worst fast food locations in Salem. This is right near my house and I used to go here almost every morning for a soda and breakfast. Yeah, it's not healthy but it's easy to do on the way to work. My list of issues is legion, and have happened over the course of many orders, morning noon or night. -Raw hamburgers, literally dripping red -Cold soggy fries -Cold stale nuggets -Constant wrong orders -Flat, warm sodas -Wrong sodas -Ridiculous wait times I honestly don't know how one place can be so consistently bad. More than once I've ordered a soda, tasted it and have it been flat. It got to where I'd take a sip from every cup before accepting the next one while at the drive thru. The last time I did this, I got a flat warm soda. I told the guy behind the window and he looked me dead in the eyes and said, "Our machine must not like working today." I looked at him and he looked back at me. He then closed the window and walked away. Seriously. That's the response I got. Next person probably got a horrible soda too. No offer to replace, no actual explanation (I know when a box of syrup needs more CO2 and when a cup needs ice, this isn't that god damn hard, but hey, yeah, the machine must have a personality now and had a "case of the Mondays" or something). Today I ordered via app and sat outside for fifteen minutes. This is the third time since I've had the app where this has been the case. I went inside and asked why it took fifteen minutes to get this. First, I got a BS response that everything was slow. That's a lie because I watched cars go through the drive thru and leave and I watched four cars pull up, park, and leave with bags of food. I could see my bag sitting on the counter, or so I assumed, and I finally got a manager to pay attention. He immediately blamed the kid who looked new enough to have been out of grade school just last week and then said he'd get it. He then handed me an ice drink and said, "Here's your drink." He then walked away and ignored me when I said it wasn't mine. He came back and handed me a bag of food and again I said, Not. Mine. He stared at me until the scared kid pointed out the one just sitting there. He then took off outside with the order he tried to give me, and the kid handed me mine. I stopped to check everything and this time the order was at least correct, if not hot. I went to leave and the manager came back through, ignored eye contact with me, and mumbled sorry. Again, no offer to remake the order or discount or throw in a pie or anything. Just "Yep, we're wrong. Deal with it." Also, they left out the sauces for the nuggets, which were lukewarm and stale. I've complained to corporate before and I get a form survey asking for my address, at which point I get two tickets for a medium sized meal for free. Which I don't order medium size, so hoo-fing-ray for that. Don't even get me started on the number of times they screwed up delivery orders. It's often enough I don't use their delivery anymore. I already drive past here every morning to go to yh Capitol location. I can't, for the life of me, consider going to this location ever again. The weirdest damn thing is that I think the same people own all the McDonald's franchises in the area. So what's their problem handling this one? What I want is for them to fix this. But they won't. And it's clear from other Yelp! reviews that I'm not the only one. So I already drive by this place every morning to read more

I don't know what is worse the fact that the customer service is one of the worst, they always mess up your order or the fact that when they do get it right they when they pack your bag they throw your food so everything spills out into the bag. I don't go out to eat often but when my family and I come here it is always an issue. You're better off going to a different location and saving yourself the headache. read more

I usually preface my reviews with I am not a foodie. But seeing how this is McDonald's, that likely needed not to be said. I am all about customer service. And as such I find this location horrid. First, never go inside. Just don't bother. They will serve 100 cars before a person even comes to the counter. Second always check your order. While they usually get the items correct, they always, and I mean 100% of the time, forget sauces. And even if you ask, they will assure you to your face they are there, and that would be untrue. And again, it will be 20 minutes before someone comes to the counter if you go in to inquire. So just sit at the window and check. Then ask for the correction right there. read more

I don't rate fast food places on their food quality, because, what's the point? There is no point unless something is really wrong and it's basically inedible. When you go to any fast-food place, you know you are not going to get some haute cuisine, right? I mean, you know that right up front. All they owe you in terms of food quality is the advertised basic food that's filling at the advertised reasonable price. But I do rate them on cleanliness, speed of service, accuracy of the order, courtesy, etc. Those are variable attributes of the dining experience, stuff they control, and things they should do well. I ordered my meal through the drive-thru, and despite me repeating my order four times and then slowly spelling it out, the woman taking the order just kept repeating the wrong order back to me when she confirmed the order. She kept "confirming" the type of 1/4 Pounder that was next to the one I wanted on the screen. Choice "B" instead of Choice "C", I think it was. On the fifth try, after I spelled it out for her, she finally confirmed the correct order in her playback, and I proceeded to the payment window, and then the pickup window. So, OF COURSE, I got the wrong order, the one she kept "confirming", and the one I kept saying, "No, that's incorrect. That's not the one I want." The incorrect burger I got also looked like it had been assembled by throwing the ingredients on the bun from, say, a distance of 6 feet. Very slapdash, very lopsided (only half the cheese slice was actually on the meat patty, the rest hung off the side, for instance), and dripping with mustard and ketchup, so much so that my hands were quickly covered with both condiments just from picking the burger up and holding it. The drive-thru line was very long, I was on a tight schedule, so I didn't have time to go through the process of complaining, getting another burger, etc. so I just threw it away and ate the fries as I drove back to work. Where do I begin? After having a busy day filled with hospital trips and work, wife and I needed just something quick to eat, after not having a chance to eat most all day we went to this McDonalds for just something in our bellies. This has nothing to do with what occurred here and I get that. The service was horrible, 35 minutes stuck in drive through. You would think that food would be fresh or hot, this was not the case. We ordered our food and when we finally got it, it tasted like it had been there all day. Stale is an understatement, and cold would be a minor descriptor of what it was like. Of course after the day we had already it was just icing on top. The fries had a taste that maybe they had been there since previous day, limp, cold, stale, and heavily salted. The meat in our burgers was like eating something that came out of the dumpster. I strongly recommend you do not go this location. Great place to eat. Always fast and friendly. McDonald's no matter where you go is consistent. WIth covid and so many places shutting down due to lazy workers, Thank God McDonald's has had the practical sense to stay open to the best of their ability and serve their community.   It's pretty simple really, if you don't like it don't go. Yelp reviews are a joke, so are the people that waste time reading them for a place like McDonald's. I'm not sure why I feel the need to spout off just now but I'm sick and tired of reading reviews from people who can't order correctly then think it's a problem. OR think they are fooling someone when they say my whole $40 order was bad, I'm not bringing it back and BTW I want a full refund and the food remade.  Get a grip people read more

I'm loving' it... that's for sure :) My visits to this McDonald's location is by far always good and I can safely say this is probably one of the best or most organized locations here in the Salem area but I know their are a few others. So yeah, Most of my purchases are for the dollar items which I can't really say anything bad about buying something for a dollar but it seems like we are getting less and less dollar items. I will sure miss all the dollar items when the time comes down the road. For me I'm always going for the strawberry pies because they always seem to hit the spot after a chicken sandwich and a large soda. Really, I'm not totally sure why but maybe it's just one of those Mickey D things we know "I'm loving' it" Hahaha... This establishment seems to be a 5-star overall and the only complaint I have is they need another soda machine out front in the dining area like some of the other locations because when it gets busy there during the lunch or dinner rush... it's very difficult or almost impossible to get my soda/refill :) ***** read more
