The workers here make the door dashers stand inbetween the two doors after a certain time and ring a doorbell, they then make you watch your order sit there for 10 mins and get disrespectful when you press the ringtone asking them to just hand you your DoorDash order you can literally see just sitting there, on top of that they go on the app and say the order is ready for pickup then make u wait 10+ mins to HAND IT TO YOU not caring if it negatively affects the same person delivering their orders, there no reason you can't just go through the drive thru if the lobby is closed, every other local company does this. We had a group of people and our eggs were green not like on Dr. Seuss but green as in, probably not good to be eaten and there was plastic wrap that we found with our eggs that each of us spit out, not sure what's going on, but somebody should call the health department on this place. Stopped @ this location because my Mother-in-law had an appointment @ Beacon hospital & needed to kill time. The app had a FREE large french fry so I ordered thru the drive thru along with a large drink. Anyway, the fries tasted like they were cooked yesterday & the smell was horrendous, within 30 minutes I had to go inside to use the facilities for a unexpected BM because of the grease. The place smells just like the fries & the bathroom was filthy too. I would avoid this place & find another McDonalds franchise if fast food is your thing. You'll be glad you did. read more

Zero stars. This is the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. They are horrible in large and small ways every single time I visit, so at least they're consistent. Burgers are consistently overcooked, buns are often stale and dry, their ice cream and shake machine is broken so often, they should just remove those items from the menu, the Coca-Cola that comes from their machine is consistently stale, flat and warm, the french fries are consistently over-cooked in what tastes like old, used oil from Long John Silvers, and the majority of the staff are rude, slow, and fail to follow through on even the simplest requests. The drive-through line is the slowest I have ever been in, with wait times of 15-20 minutes even with only a handful of cars in line. And going into the restaurant is worse. A guest might wait five minutes before even being acknowledged, and when they are, it will typically just be long enough to take their order, and then vanish again. While waiting in the lobby, it's not uncommon to see people in the kitchen, horsing around, yelling to each other, loudly cackling, or singing with headphones on while there is a line of people at the drive-through and inside the restaurant. There's also a good chance that you will see someone coming back from their break, walking through the lobby and back into the kitchen, reeking of marijuana. I don't give this rating lightly-- I've been eating at McDonald's my whole life, and they were a client of mine for many years, so I have dined at several hundred of their restaurants. This store is not only the worst McDonald's that I have ever been to, but it very possibly could be the worst McDonald's in America. I think that the possibility of the current owner redeeming themselves and turning this restaurant around is next to nothing. Even after a complete tear down and rebuild of the building, the place is still in complete disarray and chaos. And to make matters worse, this is a McDonald's right in the middle of downtown South Bend. Their people are very rude. They take your code from your app and it says code received on the app and they tell you the code is no good. If you don't like it we don't have to take your order. She proceeded to cuss us out when we pulled to the window and asked for a manager. She then brings a guy from the back, not even in a manager shirt, who said oh well, pay full price or leave. Amazingly terrible! Went to the drive-thru, ordered a fillet of fish and a water. The sandwich was obviously hours old. It was a dark color and dried out. But I did get a nice Med $6.41 Dr Pepper. This is by far the worst McDonalds ever!! To the franchise owner, do us all a favor and close this store. This isn't a one time experience. Walked in and was like, NICE. The place has been upgraded and looked great. However, that feeling disappeared in about 10 seconds. There was a woman there yelling at the manager about some refund or sauce or something. All the employees pretty much stood there and didn't do anything. We ordered and the order taker was very nice. She said here's your number, they will bring the food to your table. Oh, ok cool. Well we sit down and we see about 4 tables with no food on them. One guy, 5 minutes later came back from the counter and had finally received his order after waiting 15 minutes. Mind you, there was no line inside and about 4-5 cars in the drive through at 12:45 p.m. Anyway, few more people went and got theirs, I believe the average wait time was 15 minutes, with no line. We got ours by going to the counter and not waiting that long. Food was missing, of course but was replaced with no problem. I noticed that the two cashiers did nothing but stand there at the registers. Everytime I have been to a McDonalds, the cashiers help with the orders. Not these two. While we were eating a lot of people, about 12, came in and out of the restaurant not ordering anything and just hanging around. The vibe in the place was not good.
