I've lived here for 7 yrs and this McDonalds is by far the worst. Biggest complaint is The ice cream & frappe machines are always down , they'll close the ice cream machines down early at night so they don't have to do it after they close , which they close early enough as it is. I've stopped by at 9:30 pm at times and they're closed up already.Today I received a frappe with some kind of shredded clear plastic bag in it, ordered a large and come half full and the other half filled with whip cream. They can't seem to keep anyone employed there long. The franchise owner of this McDonalds obviously doesn't care and the corporation needs to do something about it! read more

Very poor service. I used my mobile app and ordered at the table. The staff behind the desk refused to bring it out of the table and kept calling out my name for me to come to the Counter and get it. Then they told me they were out of ketchup and had no better either. I will not be back to this location. read more

They have a low bar for quality for a McDonald's. Most times we go there this is what we get. This place is chaos The poor kid in charge is doing the best he can but nothing makes sense. As they pushed cars sto mobile lanes while trying to keep the drive thru moving. We were given part of the order at our vehicles. It is 20 minutes later and still waiting for my kids meal with a bag of cold fries and part of an adult meal. If you can't control mobile order or part of your restaurant close it down retrain your staff... make better decisions with this store read more

This store needs new management. Waiting in the drive thru line for 15-20 min on average. The sodas are given with the ice melted and watered down because they've been sitting for the 15-20 minutes. Food is typically cold and thrown together. Doesn't taste fresh. read more

If you want "fast food" then this isn't the place for you. Ordered a single cheeseburger and waited in line inside for 35 minutes. The drive through was wrapped around the building. Several people waited at the counter for 15+ minutes just to place their order. Management needs to be addressed. Not to mention the burger was the worst I've ever had. When I first moved here visited the Surf City location. I can't remember how the service was, but I do remember that my coke tasted strange. I did mention it to staff, but nothing changed. I went back on several occasions and discovered that the cokes always tasted bad, like the carbonation was sent up wrong, so I just stopped going there. Anyway, the last two mornings that I attempted to order at the drive thru, but no one was there to take the order. Each time I just left. It takes forever to get your food weather you are inside or out. Hey McDonald's hire some people and lower the prices. We all should just start cooking breakfast at home. read more

This is your average McDonald's chain restaurant. The food meets the McDonald's standards. They appear to have everything in stock. Both times we came here the preparation time on the food seemed a little excessive but they made up for the wait by delivering the food right to the table. At least we knew the sandwiches were fresh and hot. The McDonald's is conveniently located in the Walmart and CVS shopping area so it calls out to you for a quick bite to eat. read more

This McDonald's always seems to be uncoordinated and behind. There is usually a long wait for simple orders and the ice cream machine is "down" A LOT!!! More often than not the kids working there seem to joke around in front of the window with paying customers watching rather than doing the job they are paid to do. Lastly i normally wait around 5 minutes at the drive through before someone answers. I don't expect 5 star service, it's McDonald's. Firstly the staff are unprofessional and sound like they don't want to be there. If I can hear that through the intercom system then (strike 1). When I placed my order granted it was a lunch rush but you know the business your in. Time efficiency is not their expertise. Then when I pulled up to the window after 17 min in line they told me to pull up and wait longer, ended up being another 12 min. (Strike 2). Lastly they what I had ordered and the lady handed me a completely different order. My wife went back in and said it was wrong, the lady said "no that's what you said you had". We were the only people in the drive thru and took forever to order. The lady taking our order had to be high. We repeated it 5 times. " two sausage egg and cheese mcmuffin meals". You should just drive to the one in Snead's or south on 17. Service is so slow you would think everyday is their first day. Whether you are the only person there, or trying to get food during peak hours, you will be astonished by the slow service. This our local McDonalds and we've always had excellent customer service and quality of food. Today, we had the pleasure of pulling up to the service window to meet Bucky! Bucky had a smile for my teen grandson, our cocker spaniel Tucker, and me. She had a sense of humor as I had extended my card out again after paying at the first window asking me "If I was​ attempting to pay again?" and was simply lovely as she handed us our large teas and a grilled chicken patty for the furbaby. Called ask for Regional Manager Number. The SO called manager had the audacity to hang the phone up when my daughter had questions about her last paycheck.
